Around 2006/2007, Paris Hilton was as ever-present in the world of pop culture as the Kardashian clan is today. Having found success in reality television and adult film, someone handling the heiress agreed with her notion that a career in pop music would be the next best move. She released a single that no one cared for, followed by an album that tanked almost as hard as Kevin Federline’s debut, and a short time after disappeared from the spotlight. She later in the world of EDM, which seemed more fitting as it involved mindless button pushing instead of actual vocal …

Album: Nothing Was The Same
Genre: Hip Hop
Label: OVO Sound
For the last five years Drake has more or less been in a league all his own. So Far Gone catapulted him to the forefront of the pop-rap movement at the tail-end of the 2000′s with a sound many would soon imitate, and not long after Thank Me Later solidified his brand as a fixture of urban music landscape. Time passed, a number of fantastic collaborations occurred, and then Take Care was released. It was on that album that Drake fully realized what he was capable of …
Twerk music has officially died.
A little over a month after taking to Twitter with the announcement he would be collaborating with two of pop’s biggest names, Young Money artist Lil Twist has released a new single called “Twerk” featuring Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber. This is not a joke, but it is a bit of an embarrassment.
Complete with speaker-breaking bass and a hook that is simpler than the dance move that inspired it, “Twerk” arrived online this afternoon with very little promotion. The recording making the rounds on blogs appears to be low quality however, so there …
In the words of Monty Python, “…And now for something completely different.”
While the blogosphere spent the late night and most of this morning discussing all that happened during OVO Fest in Toronto, Drake realized the opportunity to maximize his current exposure and released a brand new single for the world to enjoy. We have it here on UTG for you to enjoy, but before we get there I feel it’s necessary to prepare you for what lies ahead.
Last week, Drake dropped the star-studded single “All Me” and quickly received global praise for his efforts. The track, …
Birdman sat down to discuss recording in the studio, featured artists, and more with Sway on RapFix. The man running YMCMB also talked about the possibility of reuniting Big Tymers. Watch the interview through the jump and read the statement below.

I’ve been talking to Fresh a lot. We talk every other day, we been talking about doing music; so matter of fact we gonna get in. Me and Fresh ain’t got no problem, we never had no problem. It’s been a minute and we …
Album: Rich Gang
Genre: Hip Hop/Rap
Hip hop labels have been using the strength of their entire roster as a way to promote individual artists for as long as anyone can remember, but surprisingly it wasn’t until 2013 that Young Money and Cash Money decided to get in on the action. The labels, which are run by Lil Wayne (Young Money) and Bryan “Birdman” Williams (Cash Money), have made millions with star-studded singles and remixes, so it makes perfect sense that a compilation release would one day surface. Unfortunately, the resulting Rich Gang album that hits stores this …
Much like cockroaches, Limp Bizkit may outlive us all.
After spending the first half of the year playing spot dates around the world and teasing a return to the United States, nu-metal kings Limp Bizkit have released the official video for “Ready To Go.”
Directed by Fred Durst with production help from Zoo FX, Limp Bizkit’s first music video in years is more or less a mashup of ideas and performance shots thrown together in hopes of creating something great. The results fall short of their intended glory, but somewhere amongst the live footage, performance shots of Durst rapping on …
Young Money CEO Lil Wayne has released the official video for his latest single, “God Bless Amerika.”
Hitting the net just a month after filming in the streets of Louisiana, “God Bless Amerika” attempts to paint Weezy as an American icon who speaks for the people. This may be true for the first verse of the track, but like many of Wayne’s recent tracks the song quickly reverts to talk of smoking, fucking bitches, and being richer than anyone can imagine. It may be what some fans want to hear, but it’s beginning to feel a bit tired to us. …
The time has come for those who couldn’t wait to hear what happens when Young Money and Cash Money combine. The collaboration known as Rich Gang is ready to go and will be in stores soon. The best part? The tracklisting is out, and you can preorder it from Walmart.
The 16 tracks feature everyone from Mystikal (shake it fast is still doing music?) to current chart toppers like Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. No really, Mystikal is still around?
Apparently so because he’s on the album’s first single “Fly Rich,” which also featured Stevie J, Future, …
Lil Wayne has issued a direct apology to the family of slain Chicago teenager Emmett Till for using insensitive lyrics in Future’s song “Karate Chop (Remix).” Read the statement to Till’s family and comment if you think changing the lyrics was the right thing to do.
Wayne acknowledging the family’s feelings on the matter was a good move.
Dear Till Family:
As a recording artist, I have always been interested in word play. My lyrics often reference people, places and events in my music, as well as the music that I create for or alongside other artists.
It has come …
Young Money rapper Tyga hits us hard today with the long-awaited visual release of his single “Molly.”
The single features Taylor Gang leader Wiz Khalifa as well as Mally Mall and takes us into the futuristic side of their track. Get ready for the ride of your life as you trip through upside down clips, robots, and tons of glowing objects.
“Molly” will be appearing on Tyga’s forthcoming album, Hotel California, which can be pre-ordered on iTunes. Lookout for an April 9 (Tuesday) release date.
Young Money artist Drake has made good on promises from last month and released his official video for the song “5AM In Toronto.”
The clip, which is the second video from Drake to surface in 2013, finds the young MC reciting his lines while hanging out with friends in parking lots and indoor volleyball courts (seriously). When compared to “Started From The Bottom” there is not much to be said other than that this clip feels a bit lazy. It’s less than seven takes in maybe three locations and a song this powerful deserves far better. “Started From The Bottom” …
