Just for a second, picture the modern indie scene as a middle school with each band representing a different stereotype of student. Animal Collective, the younger brother of Flaming Lips, would of course represent the weird kid who was often caught eating glue in the back of the classroom. Goldenvoice Announces Coachella Music Festival at Sea

Following a recent trend in touring/festivals and a huge step in a new direction for the music world, Goldenvoice have expanded their renowned Coachella festival to the high seas aboard the S.S. Coachella.

Haven’t these people heard of pirates? Bands frequently get their equipment stolen by landlubbers as it is!

Headliners Pulp, Hot Chip, Yeasayer and Girl Talk will be cruising The Bahamas and Jamaica with roughly 20 other bands and artists this December. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, July 21 at 10AM PDT. Check out the poster that was released today after the jump. It features the …

STREAM: Yeasayer – Longevity

“Longevity” is the second track to be unveiled from Yeasayer’s forthcoming album, Fragrant World, which is due to drop August 21 via Secretly Canadian. We first brought you their track “Henrietta” that was released last month.

Yeasayer released the song “Longevity” in the form of a video vignette which was directed by Yoshi Sodeoka. You can check out the trippy visuals for this heavy bass infused, catchy pop track from Yeasayer right after the jump!

FYF Fest Announces Lineup

Los Angeles based music festival FYF Fest announced its lineup today, and man it’s a good one. Featured on this years lineup are bands such as American Nightmare, Refused, Yeasayer, M83, Against Me! and Sleigh Bells. The music festival is on September 1 and 2 at LA Historic State Park. Tickets cost $77 and will be going on sale on June 22. Yeasayer’s got a new album

Yeasayer, the group that gave us the fantastic record All Hour Cymbals and are a hell of a live band, have a new record coming out in February. The 9th to be exact on Secretly Canadian (I love that name) and it will be called Odd Blood. If you want to hear it, try and make it out to the Guggenheim in NYC on Oct. 30 because they will preview you at their show there. If you can’t, you’re like me and you’ll just have to wait.
