Soundsupply Selling Vans Warped Tour Bundle

Soundsupply is selling a digital bundle of ten albums from various bands on this year’s edition of Vans Warped Tour for only $15 until June 16.

For those not familiar with Soundsupply, here’s how it works: every week, a bundle of five or ten albums is solid for $10 or $15 respectively with full approval from the involved labels and/or artists. Thus, the site provides a legal way for fans to save a ton of money while possibly exposing them to other music they may not have heard without purchasing the bundle.

Anberlin, The Maine, William Beckett Announce Fall Australian Tour

Starting September 4, the Florida-based alternative outfit Anberlin will be headlining an Australian tour, supported by The Maine and former frontman of The Academy Is…, William Beckett.

Presented via Australian music site, Kill Your Stereo, and the Aussie music company, Destroy All Lines, the trio will be performing throughout the month of September, including three all-age shows (Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide), which will surely appeal to younger fans down under.

You can check out the tour dates below, and if you like what you see, tickets can be purchased here beginning Friday, June 14th.

Former The Academy Is… frontman William Beckett has released a preview of his upcoming Equal Vision Records single, “Benny & Joon.”

Posted as a thank you to fans for helping the pop rock frontman turned singer/songwriter reach 20,000 likes on Facebook, our first taste of “Benny & Joon” from the studio is nothing short of exciting. The clip lasts only thirty seconds, but that is more than enough time to share the chorus in all its high-gloss, radio-ready glory. You can stream the preview at the end of this post.

Three Relient K Members To Sit Out On Upcoming Tour

According to a Facebook status put up on Saturday, it seems that only 2/5 of the actual members of Relient K will be on the road as the band heads out on their headlining tour with William Beckett, Mike Mains & The Branches, and Hellogoodbye that starts in a matter of days.

The band cites no reason for why John Warne, Jon Schneck, Ethan Luck won’t  be touring, however, the three do hint that they will not be on the road for the rest of this year as well in the following statement.

William Beckett Announces Debut LP, Signs To Equal Vision Records

Today is a big day in William Beckett news.

The front man for the now defunct punk-pop outfit The Academy Is… has been teasing a big announcement for the better part of the week… and here it is. Well, it’s less of an announcement and more of a collection of things.

First and most importantly, Beckett confirmed that he is at work on his full length solo debut and that he will be releasing the album some time in 2013 on venerable Albany, NY-based punk label Equal Vision Records. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

One of the things that made the Vans Warped Tour of 2012 so memorable was the inclusion of the Acoustic Basement stage. The haven of shade and stripped-down sets makes its return this year, and with that comes in a slew of artists who are either branching out in their respective side projects or dedicated solo acts. William Beckett recently performed “Dear Life” off of his latest EP, What Will Be, on Altar TV‘s Unplugged and Unrehearsed web series.

“I actually wrote this song in L.A. and, um, I was severely hung over when I wrote this song,” the ex-Academy Is… vocalist explained before playing the song. “The song is essentially sort of like a desperation plea to keep things together in a relationship…”

William Beckett has released the official video for “Dear Life” off his new EP, What Will Be.

The video, directed by Ryan Luciani and Jack Edinger, shows a guy and a girl dressed up for Halloween attending a variety of different parties before finally meeting each other.
