Riot Fest 2014

The 10 Best Riot Fest Social Media Moments Of The Year

Riot Fest isn’t only known for being the North American festival that goes above and beyond to create the most unforgettable lineups. Yes, the carnival is cool and the music is great (there’s even going to be an arcade in Chicago this year). But why do people really love Riot Fest? It’s probably the social media banter by whoever runs the account (an individual probably living in parts unknown). Known for quick wit and even quicker keystrokes, the Riot Fest Twitter and Facebook pages have been giving people a reason to chuckle all of festival season.

We’ve decided to scavenge …

Weezer Post Teaser Videos For “I’ve Had It Up To Here”

Weezer have released two new teaser videos, purposely out of order, for a brand new song called “I’ve Had It Up To Here.” The song comes from their upcoming record Everything Will Be Alright In The End, which will be available September 30 via Republic Records. The first video features a potential chorus while the second is seemingly a slowed down bridge and guitar solo. At this point it isn’t clear how the two will fit together, but watch both teasers below and let us know what you think.

In case you missed it, last week Weezer performed another …

Weezer Takes “Back To The Shack” to ‘The Tonight Show’

Last week Weezer took us back to ’94 as they released their debut single, “Back to the Shack,” which will be off their new album, Everything Will Be Alright In The End. And if you’ve heard anything about this new album, you know the nostalgia that’s involved, and how it’s supposed to reminisce of The Blue Album and Pinkerton.

So with all that excitement and anticipation, the band performed “Back to the Shack” on Jimmy Fallon Wednesday night. It’s nothing short of a standard Weezer performance, and makes us even more excited for the next few months …

LISTEN: Weezer Shreds In New Single, “Back to the Shack”

Weezer‘s new single, “Back to the Shack,” is an outright jam. The band’s first single off of the highly-anticipated new LP, Everything Will Be Alright in the End, “Back to the Shack,” shreds from start to finish — showing us Weezer never lost that edge we have loved from the beginning.

Everything Will Be Alright in the End is due out September 30 and drummer Pat Wilson has been quoted describing the record as “If you took the Pinkerton band and then play all the other records, that’s what we sound like now. Bombastic, loose, kind of …

Every Weezer Fan Needs To Spend Time With ‘You Blue It!’ This Week

It’s truly rare that a covers album rises above the level of novelty to become something worth longtime admiration. Of the dozens, if not hundreds of covers releases and compilations created every year, only a handful are ever deemed worthy of coverage by the vast majority of press, and of those few even less are ever spoken of in a positive light. It would certainly appear that people enjoy a good cover, but only to a certain degree, and I’ll be the first to admit that that certainly applies to me. To be completely honest, I have only found one …

Weezer Say That Their New Album Sounds Like ‘Blue Album’ Meets ‘Pinkerton’

As you may know, Weezer is releasing a new record in September called Everything Will Be Alright In The End. For a large portion of the band’s fan base, the excitement that accompanies a new album announcement is almost always shaded in the possibility of being let down once again. However, things are a little different this time. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, drummer Pat Wilson states that the new record “sounds like it’s going to have the tight structure of Blue Album with a little bit more abandon like Pinkerton.”

While the band has released …

You Blew It! Share “Surf Wax America” Cover

We’re going surfing, we’re going surfing!”

You Blew It! have partnered with our good friends at Stereogum to share the first song off their upcoming Weezer cover album.

“Surf Wax America” is one of those formidable early 90s indie/punk anthems that has become synonymous with youth in the decades since its initial release. The members of You Blew It! recognize this, and it’s part of the reason they decided to cover the track for their forthcoming Blue Album covers EP. As guitarist/vocalist Tanner Jones explains:

We chose “Surf Wax” because it’s a really great song, plain and simple. We didn’t
