Head North And Have Mercy Comment On Front Porch Step

Within hours of Front Porch Step announcing the cancellation of all current tour plans, two of the bands who planned on sharing the road with singer-songwriter Jake McElfresh in coming months have broken their silence regarding the recent sexual harassment allegations.

Head North and Have Mercy were two of the groups planning to support Mcelfresh on Front Porch Step’s first US headlining tour. That series of shows was originally scheduled to begin on February 9, but those plans were cancelled in recent days. Both Have Mercy and Head North are now speaking out against McElfresh, and we’ve included both …

The controversy surrounding Front Porch Step, otherwise known as singer-songwriter Jake McElfresh, has taken another turn. Just three days after breaking his silence to fans and press, McElfresh has issued a second statement informing fans that he has decided to suspend all current tour plans.

Writing to fans through Facebook, which has become the source of all Front Porch Step communication in recent days, McElfresh explained that he is still very much processing everything that has transpired in recent days. He wrote:…

Front Porch Step Removed From Pure Noise Records Roster, Socials

Capping off a week filled with rumors and allegations of sexual harassment, Front Porch Step is apparently no longer a part of the Pure Noise Records family.

Early this morning, a diligent UTG reader brought to our attention the fact Front Porch Step, otherwise known as Jake McElfresh, has been removed from the roster page of Pure Noise Records’ official site. The two recordings the label released over the last year are still listed on the releases, but all other mentions seem to have been removed at some point in recent days.

A quick look at the label’s Facebook

Front Porch Step Releases Statement Addressing Sexual Harassment Rumors

It’s the first day of the new year, but before we can look ahead to the exciting possibilities that lie ahead we have one bit of 2014 drama left to sort out.

Last night, while many of you were likely partying away the final day of the year, Front Porch Step – aka Jake McElfresh – took to his official Facebook to post what is believed to be the first in a series of messages addressing rumors that he engaged in predatory sexual behavior with minors. The statement is short and more than a little bit vague, but it’s the …

Front Porch Step Breaks Silence

The internet has been buzzing over rumors and allegations that Front Porch Step, otherwise known as singer-songwriter Jake McElfresh, has been sexually harassing underage fans through text for months (if not longer). We brought you the original story just yesterday afternoon, and since that time the petition to have FPS removed from Warped Tour has received almost 4,000 additional signatures. No new information has come to light since then, or at least nothing we feel comfortable posting here on UTG, but just after midnight Wednesday morning McElfresh updated his official Twitter page.

“I am aware of everything going on …

Front Porch Step Accused Of Sexual Harassment, Label Responds

Editor’s note: Before we begin, I want to make it clear that this story is still very much developing. In the days and even weeks ahead some details may change, but at the time of posting everything in this article has been fact checked…twice.

Front Porch Step, otherwise known as singer-songwriter Jake McElfresh, has been accused by at least a half-dozen young people of sexually harassing them through text. The allegations range from sexually explicit messages and requests for nude photographs, to sending underage females naked pictures of himself. The accusations began surfacing on Tumblr early in December, but …

REVIEW: Fit For A King – ‘Slave To Nothing’

Artist: Fit For A King
Album: Slave To Nothing
Genre: Metalcore
Label: Solid State Records

If any band had the year of their lives in 2013, the honor would most likely go to Texan metalcore outfit, Fit For A King. After laying claim to the most successful debut in Solid State Records history via the sonic yin and yang of Creation/Destruction, the group proceeded to hop on tour after tour while being granted the ability to re-record their independently released full-length of yesteryear, Descendants. Rather than dedicate 2014 to more touring in support of both releases, though, …
