Comeback Kid

LISTEN: Comeback Kid – “Territorial Pissings” (Nirvana Cover)

Earlier in the day, Comeback Kid graced fans with a raging rendition of Nirvana’s classic headbanger, “Territorial Pissings.” Give it a listen by following the jump below, and let us know what you think in the comments section.

“’Territorial Pissings,’ in my eyes, has always been the most aggressive Nirvana song, and we had wanted to cover it for a while,” said frontman Andrew Neufeld. “It started with just jamming it during soundcheck, which led to it creeping into our sets, and we recorded it on a whim…keeping true to its original form.”

In a few days, Comeback Kid …

Victorian Halls Return With Improved Sound, Announce ‘Hyperalgesia’

There was a time when the roster for Victory Records read like a who’s who of alternative music oddities. Unfortunately, that age of diversity has long since given way to the label’s current set of hardcore and/or metal tinged acts, but for those willing to dig a little deeper than the most talked about roster acts there are still promising groups with a lot of potential to be found.

Victorian Halls burst onto the national stage a few years ago with an impressive, albeit inconsistent debut release. The group then toured extensively in support of that release, spending literally years …

5 Incredible Former Victory Records Artists The Scene Forgot

For the better part of the last fifteen years, Victory Records has been one of the most influential independent labels in alternative music. Though the quality of their current roster is open for debate, there was a time in the not too distant past where seemingly every band who signed with the Chicago based record label would end up either headlining Warped Tour or appearing on the cover of Alternative Press Magazine, if not both. Taking Back Sunday, Hawthorne Heights, Silverstein, Bayside, Between the Buried and Me, and Thursday all have Victory to thank for establishing their brands in the …

Four Year Strong

Four Year Strong Add Handguns, Heart To Heart, Expire To Tour Lineup

Remember a few weeks ago when Four Year Strong announced a headlining tour featuring support from Comeback Kid? That run just got a hell of a lot sweeter.

Handguns, Expire, and Heart To Heart, all of whom are currently wrapping up the final dates of the Pure Noise Records Tour, have been added to Four Year Strong’s 2015 roster. With a nice mix of pop-punk and hardcore bands, this lineup is the perfect compliment to Four Year Strong’s tendency to lean toward both genres. The tour runs through the month of January. You can pick up …

Silverstein Announce ‘Discovering The Waterfront’ 10-Year Anniversary Tour

Get out your emo bangs and prepare to scream until your lungs are sore. You may also want to break out your Clue game and begin creating cosplay based on your favorite weapons because Silverstein are kicking off 2015 by celebrating the 10-year anniversary of Discovering The Waterfront.

Do you remember where you were in 2005? I was a junior in high school who thought every song from the emo/scene world was written as a direct reflection of my own personal experiences. Discovering The Waterfront was one of those albums I played until everyone I knew could not stand …

Islander (D. SKANK PHOTOGRAPHY)

UTG TV: Rockstar Mayhem Fest 2014 With Islander

Serving as one of the truly up-and-coming acts on the Rockstar Mayhem Festival 2014, Islander seemingly had a lot to prove. That didn’t manage to have an effect on the guys keeping it cool, though. Believe it or not, by the time UTG TV spoke to them in Scranton, they’d already become friends with the guys in Korn and had Suicide Silence watching their set from backstage.

During our interview, we felt the need to state the obvious and address how different Islander seemed from the rest of the lineup. The guys chuckled at the notion, agreeing but not being …

UTG TV: Rockstar Mayhem Fest 2014 With Ill Niño

“All metal bands, whether you’re in your 20s, whether you’re 18…30…40…you obviously want to turn the youth of America into a metalhead.”

Fourteen years ago Cristian Machado stepped up from bass to lead vocals for the NJ based Latin Metal rockers Ill Niño. On July 22 of this year the band dropped their seventh studio album, Till Death, La Familia, via Victory Records. The timing was perfect to coincide with their run on the Rockstar Mayhem Fest 2014 alongside Korn, Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, and many more.

UTG’s John Bazley spoke with Cristian about his time spent on the …

UTG TV: ETID Meets CYE At Warped 2014

We here at Under The Gun Review like to consider ourselves family. For us, it’s important to keep in mind that the music community is in fact a community. At events like Warped Tour, you get to meet a lot of new people. UTG TV was able to bring together Close Your Eyes and Every Time I Die for the first time.

I’m sure you remember UTG TV’s segment entitled ‘Boozin’ With Buckley‘ we ran with Keith from Every Time I Die not too long ago. Well, unfortunately we couldn’t have a second installment of the boozing (considering …

Terror Release Music Video For “Shot Of Reality”

Hardcore veterans Terror have released their new music video for “Shot Of Reality” over at AltPress. The video includes live and behind the scenes footage of the band’s recent tour.

Terror released their newest record Live By The Code last year via Victory Records, their first for the label. The band is currently out on the 2014 Vans Warped Tour, where they’re ripping day in and day out on the Monster Energy Stage. As one of the better hardcore groups on the tour, I highly recommend checking out their set.

The video can be seen over at Alt Press, …

STREAM: Emmure – ‘Eternal Enemies’

There’s been a lot of buzz regarding Emmure’s forthcoming LP, Eternal Enemies, which hits shelves tomorrow (April 15) through Victory Records. Given, most of that buzz has been criticism, easy come easy go, right?

Following the release of two music videos (“Nemesis,” “Like LaMotta”), earlier today the group continued to hype their newest effort by streaming it in full a day ahead of its actual release. Check it out after the break.

Incredibly predictable and not the least bit forward-thinking, if you enjoy being sworn at by Frankie Palmeri for over an hour, you …

We have been covering Feed Her To The Sharks for the last several years and could not be more thrilled to learn a label has finally decided to give them the financial support needed to take their career to the next level. Our only …
