SINGLE REVIEW: Design The Skyline – “Deathgaze”

Artist: Design The Skyline
Track: “Deathgaze”
Genre: Metalcore
Label: Victory

Design The Skyline arrived on Victory Records already being considered a joke by many in the heavy music community. At the time, the band used the current fads of the scene as crutches on which to hoist their generic-yet-intense brand of metalcore. Genre fans cried foul, as did label fans, and by the time their debut arrived a wide selection of press had already stopped covering the group’s activities. Victory has never been one to admit that it has made a mistake, however, and this morning the lead single off …

MUSIC VIDEO: Snow White’s Poison Bite – “Will You Meet Me In The Graveyard?”

Victory Records newcomers Snow White’s Poison Bite have unleashed their bloody new video for “Will You Meet Me In The Graveyard?” and can be seen here.

Filled with murder scenes, dead bodies, and graveyard imagery, the group look to set off their visuals in the right way. They are certainly not holding back anything with the video.

Snow White’s Poison Bite are planning to release their Victory debut, Featuring: Dr. Gruesome And The Gruesome Gory Horror Show, which will be released on April 16.

Streetlight Manifesto Denied Physical Copies of New Album By Label

Your favorite ska-punks just can’t catch a break. Streetlight Manifesto just announced on their Facebook page that their label, Victory Records, is witholding their new record, The Hands that Thieve, and refusing to send physical copies to the band or their fans. Streetlight Manifesto assures that “we will be able to fulfill all orders soon” and that fans shouldn’t buy the record from Victory’s website, but rather, from their RISC store. In a nutshell, Victory is keeping records in their possession that people have already paid for. Pretty lame.

In addition, the acoustic version of Streetlight’s new …

REVIEW: Streetlight Manifesto – The Hands That Thieve

Artist: Streetlight Manifesto
Album: The Hands That Thieve
Genre: Ska

Ska music has a bad rep these days. It’s gotten to a point where people consider it lame when you say that you’re listening to ska, like you’re some sort of leper who listens to Top 40 radio. “Skas Dead!” they all say. While yes, some ska is kinda lame, ska that is done well is some of the most exciting music you can hope to hear. Saying you love Streetlight Manifesto is basically cliché at this point in the game, but I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because they’re …

SINGLE REVIEW: Snow White’s Poison Bite – “Will You Meet Me In The Graveyard?”

Artist: Snow White’s Poison Bite
Song: “Will You Meet Me In The Graveyard?”
Label: Victory

There comes a number of times every year when I must bite my tongue and say I spoke too soon. It does not happen so often that I have begun second guessing myself, but in all my years writing about music the one thing I have learned to be repeatedly true is that even the most obscure band can surprise you when you least expect it. Snow White’s Poison Bite, a band that I will forever think chose a terrible name, are that band this …

Tear Out The Heart Feature 2013

REVIEW: Tear Out The Heart – Violence

Artist: Tear Out The Heart
Album: Violence
Genre: Post-hardcore
Label: Victory Records

Tear Out The Heart have only been a band for nearly two years, but in that time they’ve managed to self release an EP and land a recording contract with Victory Records. This brings us to the here and now – the metalcore quintet has created and released their full length debut, Violence. Now while we know Violence might not be the most creative or thought provoking title for a metalcore record, it certainly lines up with the album theme, sonically and lyrically.

Terror

Terror’s Scott Vogel Discusses Signing To Victory Records

To put it lightly, the music community was pretty shaken back in January when Terror announced that they had signed to the ever controversial Victory Records to release their sixth studio album, Live By The Code. Since then, vocalist Scott Vogel discussed the matter and much more in an interview with PunkNews.org.

You recently signed to Victory Records, and you said it’s cool, because you’re a fan of the older bands that were signed to the label like Strife, Earth Crisis, etc. However, over the past few years, I haven’t really heard a single good word from bands

MUSIC VIDEO: Fall City Fall – “Dissentipede”

Canadian post-hardcore/experimental outfit Fall City Fall have just put out a video for their single “Dissentipede” and it looks like the band had a smashing good time putting it together. The treatment for the video could be summarized thusly, “Imagine every house show ever, but with better lighting and with guys running around in Mexican wrestling outfits”.

Does that series of visuals, set to the background of angular riffage and wonky solos, sound like fun? Yes? No?! Make up your mind and check out the video for “Dissentipede” by clicking “Read more”.

Streetlight Manifesto Outline “The End Of The Beginning Tour”

Journeymen ska act Streetlight Manifesto have gone through a great deal to get their upcoming album The Hands That Thieve out to their fans. Of course, a release that hard-won deserves a big support tour for it and the band is more than happy to oblige their fans! But this might be the last time they hit the road for a long time, if this doesn’t turn out to be their last tour jaunt, period.

In a statement titled “The End of the Beginning Tour”, the band outlined their intent: to be able to put on at least one last …

Terror

MUSIC VIDEO: Terror – “Live By The Code”

Terror have recently debuted the music video to the title track off of their upcoming Victory Records release, Live By The Code today. The album is set to release on April 9, 2013.

Like many would visualize a Terror music video to look like, the end result is a montage of brutal chaos and hardcore pile-up goodness.

Follow the jump for a link to preorders for Live By the Code, along with a stream of the music video.
