The folks over at Rock Transmission were the ones to break the news early last night that Van Halen‘s Eddie Van Halen, Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine, and Travis Barker of blink-182 will all be appearing on LL Cool J‘s thirteenth full length record, Authentic.

Some things really are too good to be true.
After months of hype and fantastic tickets sales, Van Halen have announced the cancellation of every tour date following their June 26 appearance in New Orleans. According to Pollstar, announcements began to break shortly after noon today, with multiple sources reporting “no explanation offered” in regards to the decision.
Markets affected by these cancellations include: Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, El Paso, Baltimore, E. Rutherford, Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Memphis, Spokane, Reno, Fresno, Wichita and Milwaukee.

Van Halen has revealed that they will be heading out on tour in 2012, with singer David Lee Roth, marking this as their first performance in five years. The news was announced this morning via a video on YouTube, which shows the band rehearsing on stage. Specific tour dates have yet to be revealed but tickets begin to go on sale January 10.
Along with their forthcoming tour, Van Halen has been reportedly been working on a new album for the past three years as well as signing to Interscope Records recently.
