The Venetia Fair To Release ‘…Basically Just Does Karaoke’ Covers EP

The Venetia Fair are one of the most unique rock outfits actively performing and recording throughout the modern world. Their latest album, Every Sick, Disgusting Thought We’ve Got In Our Brain, was one of our favorites from this year, and now it seems they’re gracing us with an additional helping of new (old) material before the year is out.

Hitting digital retailers on December 24, The Venetia Fair…Basically Just Does Karaoke will be a 5-song cover EP. Plans for this release stem back to the band’s extremely successful Kickstarter campaign in 2012 which funded their acclaimed full-length record. During …

Taylor Swift Debuts “Sweeter Than Fiction”

The sound of the 1980s is alive and well, my friends. First came Betty Who, then Gaga’s new single, and now Ms. Taylor Swift tosses her hat into the throwback ring with “Sweeter Than Fiction.”

The first new song to surface from Swift in over a year, “Sweeter Than Fiction” offers listeners a chance to hear what Taylor Swift’s career may have sounded like if she rose to fame around 1986. Slick, synth-heavy production guides fans through a story told from the perspective of someone who has supported an artist since before anyone else seemed to care. The …

Put On Your Mittens! The Full Trailer For Disney’s ‘Frozen’ Is Here

We are trying our absolute best to avoid all news stories related to the holiday coming up in a little under three months, so for the sake of this story I’m going to do my best to not name it specifically. Halloween and Thanksgiving are both awesome holidays in need of more attention. Hold off, Claus. You’ll get your chance.

Anyway, Disney is jumping the gun on all things winter-related this afternoon by releasing the full trailer for their latest animated feature, Frozen. The film, which looks to have borrowed a lot of design ideas from Tangled, opens …

New Teaser Trailer, Poster For “Carrie”

We got our first look at a bloodsoaked Chloe Moretz as Carrie back in August, and now the first teaser trailer for the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s bestseller has made its way online. Ominous and leading, the teaser doesn’t give too much away but does highlight the carnage which follows when a group of Carrie’s classmates decide to play a prank on her at the high school prom. The fallout looks to be more widespread this time though, with a feral Moretz standing amidst the smouldering wreckage of her town.

The movie is grittier and more modernised than Brian …

REVIEW: Sixpence None The Richer – Lost In Transition

Artist: Sixpence None the Richer
Album: Lost in Transition
Genre: Pop
Label: Credential Recordings

Sixpence None the Richer have been on the go for so long that it seems they’ve perfected the art of the tastefully inoffensive. Far from pushing the boat out with Lost in Transition, they’ve scuppered a rather exciting and evocative opening half by letting it slip into wayward and unsatisfying repetition. That there were lengthy delays and problems surrounding the album’s release is clear in its music – not because they seem sloppy or piecemeal, but rather in that they’re undernourished. The opening tracks have …
