Under The Gun’s photographer, Tori Thomas attended the Twenty One Pilots show featuring New Politics and Five Knives at the LC Pavilion in Columbus, OH on April 26, 2013.

I arrived to this show expecting nothing but surprises, especially with this being a hometown show for Twenty One Pilots. First in the lineup was Five Knives, however I was unable to make it in time to see their set. Judging from a previous show I saw them at opening for TOP, I’m sure they set the mood for the evening with a flawless performance.

Twenty One Pilots

twenty | one | pilots Added To Fall Out Boy Arena Tour

After having already announced Panic! at the Disco as support for their arena tour this autumn, Fall Out Boy have decided to add twenty | one | pilots to the tour as well.

The tour will begin on September 5 in Uncasville, Connecticut. It will then make its way around the U.S. with one stop in Toronto before finishing up on September 29 in Tampa, Florida.

I had the pleasure to attend the MTV Artists to Watch tour featuring Twenty One Pilots, Five Knives and Kaleido. The show started with Detroit natives, Kaleido, a pop rock group. Christina, singer, brought energy to the crowd and got everyone amped for the show. This band was definitely a ball of energy, which was great in their case. Schizoid pop is one way of putting it. Vessel is a baptism of fire if, like me, you weren’t heretofore familiar with twenty | one | pilots, but it’s a gloriously rewarding one. Mangling genres in this manner can go one of two ways – it can all become a cacophonous mess that makes you want to rip your headphones into shreds, or it can become an eclectic, eccentric marriage of invention and ingenuity. Ohio’s twenty | one | pilots have released their official music video for the latest single, “Guns For Hands.” The track is the second single to surface off the group’s label debut Vessel, which coincidentally arrived in stores today following weeks of rave reviews and promotion.

Unlike the video for “Holding Onto You,” the visuals in “Guns For Hands” are extremely simplistic. twenty | one | pilots appear on a soundstage, perform a short skit, then settle into their positions and perform the track as if a packed house were watching. twenty | one | pilots Perform “Trees” Live

Fueled By Ramen’s latest signing twenty | one | pilots were filmed performing their song “Trees” live and the energy and passion from this showing truly gets our blood pumping. This hometown show, in April, was shot at The LC Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio.

Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun both amp up the crowd with their blend of electronic pop music and never let the beat drop.

Be sure to check out one of these fun shows when they roll through your town in August, with Neon Trees and Walk The Moon. Dates can be found through the jump.
