Angel Olsen

Watch Angel Olsen’s TV Debut on ‘Letterman’

It’s been four months since Angel Olsen‘s fantastic record Burn Your Fire For No Witness came out and not a week goes by that I don’t find myself listening to it in full. The only thing better than giving it a spin is hearing that material live. Thankfully the whole TV-watching world got a chance to experience that sound this week when Olsen stopped by the Late Show with David Letterman to perform “Hi-Five.”

The video is a good opportunity to see her singing style. It never ceases to amaze me how little she opens her mouth for some …

Twin Shadow

Watch Twin Shadow Perform “To The Top” on ‘Conan’

Back in April, Twin Shadow dropped a powerful new song titled “To The Top.” It’s a strong pop piece of ’80s foundation with clean vocals sung over it, but that was all he shared. There was no word of a new album, an EP, or anything. So when he stepped onstage on Conan last night, his presence was an appreciated surprise.

Twin Shadow performed “To The Top,” showing that the song upholds its sturdy structure live just as well as it does in the recorded version. It was performed in a circle with some gospel, giving it the

Conor Oberst CBS Live

Watch Conor Oberst Play Three Songs with Dawes on CBS

A week ago to the day, Conor Oberst released his new album Upside Down Mountain via Nonesuch. We’ve already heard some of that material live when he stopped by The Tonight Show, but now we get to hear a bit more. Oberst dropped by CBS This Morning over the weekend to play a few of the songs off the album: “Time Forgot,” “Hundreds Of Ways,” and “You Are Your Mother’s Child.”

If things look more familiar than usual, you’ve got good vision. Once again, Oberst is backed by Dawes. Earlier this year, Oberst and Dawes teamed up to release …

Will Forte is All Alone in ‘The Last Man on Earth’ Trailer

It looks like Fox is ready to get weird. The TV station will be picking up a new comedy series called The Last Man on Earth later this year which stars Will Forte and whose pilot was directed by the guys behind The Lego Movie, Phil Lord and Chris Miller. Seth Cohen is also an executive producer. The show follows Phil Miller (Forte) who is literally the last man on Earth… making Forte the only star of the show. Yes, really.

Considering there’s only so much one person can do, we’ll see how this show pans out. Forte is, …

Watch Billy Joel and Jimmy Fallon Perform Together on ‘The Tonight Show’

It’s no secret that Jimmy Fallon books incredible acts for his show. He’s hung out with Springsteen, joked with Vedder, and had the President of the United States slow jam the news. But once again, Fallon became the giddy fan he is inside, this time for Billy Joel.

Joel performed “You May Be Right” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, where part-way through Fallon joined in with a James Brown impression. Look out for some forward singing, dancing, and sax playing. During the interview, Fallon and Joel sang The Lion King theme song as a two-man doo-wop group with …

Jimmy Fallon The Muppets

Watch Jimmy Fallon’s Farewell to Late Night with The Muppets

After five great, long, music-filled years, Jimmy Fallon stepped down from his role as the host of the Late Night only to step up to his new position as the host of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. With so many talented past guests and a house band like The Roots, the question on everyone’s mind was what would Fallon do for his farewell performance? Something, perfect, of course.

Fallon managed to get The Muppets to join him onstage for a goofy-but-serious cover of The Band’s “The Weight” before walking offstage and into his new set for The Tonight Show.

Watch Dum Dum Girls Perform “Rimbaud Eyes” on ‘Letterman’

Dum Dum Girls stopped by the Late Show with David Letterman a few nights ago to perform “Rimbaud Eyes” off of their new album. The performance shows they’ve still got it, and probably makes you question why you ever thought they’d lose it.

Too True is their first new album in three years. Instead of the lo-fi sound we’re used to from their humble beginnings, the Dum Dum Girls switched things up this time around for some surf punk and 80′s goth rock that is hard to stop spinning. If you need any more convincing to check it out other …

Danny Brown

Watch Danny Brown Make His TV Debut on ‘Jimmy Kimmel’

If you’re still coming down from the Danny Brown high that was all of last year, don’t worry — we are, too. Brown saw his third full-length, Old, receive some serious attention, released numerous music videos, and debuted on remixes galore (like Vampire Weekend’s “Step“). What he has yet to do, however, is make his TV debut.. but now he’s checked that off his list.

Last night, Brown performed “25 Bucks” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for his his first live performance on TV ever. He handled it well, not missing a single word while Purity Ring’s Megan …

Watch: Judas Priest Parody Themselves On ‘The Simpsons’

Rob Halford and the rest of Judas Priest made a brief appearance on the long-running FOX animated series The Simpsons last night (January 5). The episode, titled Steal This Episode, dealt with Homer learning the consequences of illegal downloading after opening a backyard movie theater in Springfield cleverly named ‘Cinema Pirate-diso.’ When the proverbial shit hit the fan the entire Simpsons clan found themselves swarmed by the FBI, and not long after the band responsible for “Breaking The Law” rolled through on the back of a truck (much like Metallica did a few seasons back). You can view the …

MazzyStar

Mazzy Star Perform on Fallon for First TV Appearance in 20 Years

In September of this year, California’s iconic dream-pop veterans Mazzy Star released their first album in over 17 years, Seasons of Your Day. They toured in support of that album beginning earlier this month, making it their first time running around the country in 17 years as well. Now they stopped through the little box inside your house to perform on television for the first time in 20 years. Time, man. Time.

This TV performance took place last night when Mazzy Star stayed up late to play “California” on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. This was their first TV performance …

Alternative Ending to ‘Breaking Bad’ Surfaces; Plays Into Fan Theories

When Breaking Bad ended, I think the fandom at large sighed in relief. A perfect series had an acceptable ending. That’s more than most shows can boast. Vince Gilligan’s masterpiece was complete. Forever marked in television history as one of the best dramas to fill an hour block.

Cue DVD release. Now that the series has finished, it’s natural to release it in its entirety to the world via Digital Versatile Disc and BluRay. It’s even more natural to pack in tons of special features. Perhaps even an alternate ending?

Yes. The following video is confirmed by Hypable as an …
