Run The Jewels7

Zack De La Rocha, Travis Barker Join Run The Jewels For LA Performance

We’re all loving the new Run The Jewels record over here at UTG. This album feels like a departure from the vast majority of music we’ve heard in the genre this year, largely due to the excellent choice of collaborators. My favorite contributor, Zack De La Rocha, joined the hip-hop duo along with Travis Barker this week for the group’s tour date in Los Angeles.

The Rage Against The Machine frontman spit his verse during the group’s performance of “Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck),” and Travis Barker got behind the kit for “All Due Respect.” You can check …

Travis Barker Releases Info On His Autobiography

Travis Barker is set to release his autobiography, Can I Say: Living Large, Cheating Death, and Drums, Drums, Drums, through William Morrow on June 24. According to an Amazon posting, the book will be co-authored by Gavin Edwards.

Besides a questionable title, and an even worse cover, the book is sure to be enlightening, considering Barker’s eccentric career. Regardless of personal opinions with the cover, it surely fits Barker’s style, which will most certainly come through in the autobiography. Through his monumental work with Blink-182, and his near death experiences and losses, I am sure he has much to …

Travis Barker Is Working On A Memoir

Travis Barker of blink-182 has announced that he is writing a memoir. Barker says that he’s been working on the book for months, and that it will be released in Fall 2014.

This book could turn out to be a treasure trove for anyone curious about the most reserved member of blink-182. Presumably, the book will offer Barker’s take on the band’s drama over the years, his struggles with drug use and recent sobriety, as well as a personal look into his 2008 plane crash.

In a Christmas Instagram post of his daughter, Barker writes:

Blink-182 2013

LIVE REVIEW: Blink-182 ‘Untitled’ 10-Year Anniversary Show (11/7/13)

For some reason Blink-182 has always been a band everyone likes. I have vivid memories of hearing “Going Away To College” for the first time when I was 15, and my older brother then giving me a copy of Buddha for my birthday. Their music became the standard for car trips and singing along to “Josie” set the bar for how to have fun driving down route 146. My mom even loved to sing the high harmonies on songs like “First Date” so despite the vulgar language they were acceptable to play in the car.

There has just always been …

Skylar Grey

MUSIC VIDEO: Skylar Grey – “Back From The Dead” Feat. Big Sean & Travis Barker

Skylar Grey has revealed the music video for her latest single, “Back From The Dead.” The song features guest appearances by Big Sean and Travis Barker. You can watch it by taking a look below the jump.

The video is shot in black and white, and is located in what looks like a museum, with some of the exhibits coming to life as Skylar Grey sings. So far the song has received mixed reviews, at least in regard to Big Sean’s rap verses. What are your thoughts? I personally feel the song was great with just Skylar Grey and Travis …

Michelle Obama Lets Move

Michelle Obama is Releasing a Rap Album

Michelle Obama is putting out a rap album. Go ahead. Rub your eyes as much as you want, but what you just read isn’t going to change. Yes, Michelle Obama, the First Lady of the United States of America, is releasing a rap album next month.

It’s not a response to the Lil Debbie and Riff Raff track “Michelle Obama” (although taking a moment to imagine if it was is quite fun), but instead an extension of her “Let’s Move!” campaign to help fight America’s growing obesity problem. First guesses as to who would be featured naturally include …

Tim Armstrong of Rancid & The Transplants

Under The Gun sent photographer, Derek Scancarelli, to shoot Rancid and The Transplants during their two-night stop in New York City on June 20, 2013.

Rancid is currently on tour with the The Transplants, which features Rancid’s very own frontman, Tim Armstrong. They played two fun-filled nights in a row to one of New York City’s venues, Terminal 5, to a packed crowd. This incredible tour celebrates Rancid’s 20 year anniversary as a band.…

Transplants Release “In A Warzone” For Stream And Download

Transplants have been quiet for too long. Excluding two-thirds of the supergroup appearing on Travis Barker’s solo project back in 2011, it’s been seven years since the Barker, Tim Armstrong (Rancid), and Skinhead Rob have collectively released any material, and now it looks like In A Warzone is right around the corner, with a release in May.

Simply said, “In A Warzone” is everything that people have come to know and love from the band, just faster, harder, and more repetitive.

Follow the jump for a stream and download of the track.…

Blink 182 Touring Australia Without Travis Barker, Who’s Filling In?

Due to Travis Barker’s understandable fear of flying following a horrible plane crash in 2008, he will not be accompanying Blink 182 on their upcoming tour to Australia. Instead, Brooks Wackerman of Bad Religion will be filling in on drums.

The band released a statement about the tour on Facebook yesterday. Read below for more information on this decision, and check out their upcoming tour dates on Facebook as well.

The trip to Australia was planned during our European tour last summer. The band knew the chances of Travis overcoming his fear of flying, which was magnified after the horrible

EP STREAM: Blink-182 – ‘Dogs Eating Dogs’

We talked about the likelihood of something like this happening a little earlier today, and here we are with a complete stream of Blink-182′s upcoming EP, Dogs Eating Dogs. The anticipation for this release has been so great that it seems trivial to attempt recounting the progress the group have made up to this point, so I’ll just go on record now as saying this collection of tracks (in my opinion) far outshine the material found on their last full length. You can stream Dogs Eating Dogs and decide for yourself, after the jump.

There will be even more …
