Migos Release “Origin” Music Video

Offset may still be behind bars, but that is not stopping the men of Migos from building hype for their upcoming debut album.

Today, less than a week after releasing their Still On Lock mixtape, Migos partnered with WorldStarHipHop to share their video for “Origin.” The song appears to be taken from Migos’ debut album, YRN, which is slated for release on June 16. Like “One Time,” the track is one of the more structured efforts in the group’s catalog, with each emcee taking a verse and making it their own. The hook talks about the origin of the …

Rush-R40

Cancel Your Plans & Watch This Fan-Filmed Footage Of Rush

Rush, otherwise known to anyone with a lick of sense as one of the greatest musical creations to ever be given to mankind, recently kicked off their ‘R40′ 40th anniversary tour on May 8 at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We weren’t at the show, but if we had limitless bank accounts and girlfriends who understood our need to rock out while men likened to God himself/herself perform then we would have made the journey. Thankfully, one diligent fan thought to capture the entire two-and-a-half-hour performance, in high definition (for a phone), and upload it to the web. …

Today may be the saddest day in UTG history. After eight years together, Fireworks have announced plans to go on hiatus following their upcoming tour.

Announced today via Twitter, Fireworks thanked fans for all their support before breaking news of their plans to take some time away from the spotlight. “After these upcoming gigs are ripped,” they wrote, “we will be taking a break for awhile to give the other side of life a try.” You can read the note in full at the end of this post.

UTG FEATURE: Last Night Leon Bridges Changed My Life

For the better part of the last year I have had my eye on Dallas, Texas native Leon Bridges. His music is both a callback to the now long gone heyday of soul, with influences ranging from Etta James to Sam Cooke, as well as a testament to the power of great songwriting. He can make you fall in love just as easily as he can make you ponder your relationship with the unknown, and he does it all while supplying a steady stream of dancehall-ready music that is sure to get your feet moving.

On Sunday night, May …

From Autumn To Ashes Announce Summer Reunion Tour

A few months ago I was watching Atreyu play shortly after midnight in a tiny venue at SXSW when PropertyOfZack writer Jesse Richman turned to me and commented that the best parts of heavy music from 2005 were alive once more. I excitedly agreed, as I too had just witnessed Atreyu perform at the top of their game, and now I’m excited again as one of the other recently reunited great heavy bands of the last two decades has announced plans for a nationwide summer tour.

Today, May 5, From Autumn To Ashes revealed plans to embark on a summer …

Pure Noise Records Welcomes No Good News

During the winter of 2014 I discovered a band from New York called No Good News that I immediately knew had something special to their sound. I can’t describe what that something was in detail, but I knew it when I heard it, and with each of the thirty-plus plays I gave their EP since that time I have heard it again and again.

Turns out, I’m not alone in thinking this band could be the next big thing.

Today, Pure Noise Records announced the addition of No Good News to their ever-growing roster of talent. The label will be …

Fucked Up Release New Song “California Cold,” Announce ‘Zodiac Tour’

Fucked Up might be the last incredibly innovative band making hardcore punk music. The band has released a new, eight-minute track called “California Cold,” which serves as the B-side to the upcoming Year Of The Hare 12″ single.

The first three minutes or so of “California Cold” sound like Fucked Up’s best attempt at making a song in the vein of Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead Or Alive,” and it actually works pretty well. Flutes appear around the four-minute mark, and it slowly descends into chaos from there. Considering this is just a B-side, I’m excited to see what kind of …
