Run The Jewels Share ‘RTJ2′ Tracklist, Awesome Album Art, and New Tour Dates

Run The Jewels‘ sophomore release, RTJ2, has easily been one of my most highly anticipated albums of the year since its announcement. At this point, it’s my most anticipated for the remainder of the year, especially after hearing “Blockbuster Night Part 1” and seeing them earlier this summer at Outside Lands in San Francisco.

Today, the dynamic duo of Killer Mike and El-P have revealed several more details regarding the album, including it’s awesome Halloween-ish cover art (a continuation of their gun/fist logo and art from their debut) and the album’s tracklist, with impressive guests …

Kicking off stateside with direct support from the “Rude” boys in MAGIC!, Maroon 5′s next world tour will put the band on the road February through June of next year. The Smith Street Band Stream “Surrender”

Australian folk-punk heroes The Smith Street Band are streaming a new track titled “Surrender” via Noisey. “Surrender” is the first single to be lifted off of their highly anticipated third full-length, Throw Me In The River, which will be released in the USA via SideOneDummy Records on October 28.

“Surrender” is an absolute corker of a track which features the witty lyricism, unbridled passion and raw instrumentation the band is infamous for, delivered in the most assured and accomplished manner yet. Gritty, challenging and yet oddly cathartic at the same time, “Surrender” serves as the ideal introduction to …

Buke and Gase

Buke and Gase Share Single, Announce Tour

Buke and Gase are more than an experimental duo; they’re inventors. Brooklyn musicians Arone Dyer and Aron Sanchez made their instruments–the “toebourine” and “buke,” for example–by hand. Not only that, but their music stretches boundaries farther than we’re used to, all while maintaining a catchy-enough riff to keep us following along on their absurd path. It’s time to get our shoes back on for a hike, because the two have announced both a new single called “Seam Esteem” and a tour around the East Coast, Canada, and Midwest.

According to the press release, they wanted to raise their glass ceiling …

The Swellers Send Us Off With First Leg Of The ‘Call It A Night Tour’

We first found out that The Swellers‘ were calling it quits through the most understated of announcements possible:

We had our first band practice twelve years ago today. It’s been an amazing run. Booking some farewell shows soon. Thank you.

That was followed with more detailed explanations, most notably Jono Diener’s article for Noisey, but those were just details. As for those farewell shows, we now have the first batch of those.

This first leg is Midwest and East Coast only, but given the tour poster’s very explicit “Part 1,” fans in other parts of the US need …

Slipknot

Slipknot Announce US Headlining Tour With Korn, King 810

Hot on the heels of the news that their latest studio album will arrive in October, Slipknot have revealed plans to embark on an extensive US headlining tour later this year.

Kicking off at Knotfest in San Bernadino on October 25 and 26, the ‘Prepare For Hell Tour’ is the first stateside run from Slipknot in several years. The outing will find the Iowa-based metalcore outfit traveling coast to coast over the course of six weeks with support from Korn and Michigan hardcore act King 810. I’m not sure how the hell King 810 made the cut, but they …

Limp Bizkit Release “Endless Slaughter” Music Video

Several weeks after dividing fans with the premiere of their latest single, Limp Bizkit have delivered the official visuals for “Endless Slaughter.”

We were part of the crowd who were less than thrilled with “Endless Slaughter” when it debuted, and to be completely honest time has not changed our opinion. The video, however, is something wholly entertaining whether or not you enjoy the accompanying music. It plays as three short films, much like the song feels like three ideas slammed together. Each sequence has its own tone and story, but it never culminates into anything all that meaningful. …

The Knife Will Soon Be No More

Highly acclaimed and auterist electronic duo The Knife is coming to the end.

“When we finish the tour now in November we will close down, it’s our last tour. We don’t have any obligations to continue, it should only and always be for fun.”

Stereogum has confirmed the breakup with the band’s reps. Once The Knife finishes up their final European tour dates in November, the dissolution will be complete. A brief farewell was posted on The Knife’s website

Gwar Are Heading Out On Large North American Tour This Fall

“Dark clouds of war and ill omen have gathered around GWAR. In our hour of greatest peril, Oderus has left us and our enemies stand poised, ready to strike while they sense weakness. But we shall no longer cower in our Antarctic stronghold, awaiting Destiny’s final blow. This Fall GWAR sets out on the most trying quest of our career. We shall scour our leader’s favorite stomping ground, North America, leaving no city unsearched, no venue unraised, and no sheep unmolested. GWAR will venture to the depths of Hell or to the very end of Time itself, and though I …
