From Autumn To Ashes Announce Summer Reunion Tour

A few months ago I was watching Atreyu play shortly after midnight in a tiny venue at SXSW when PropertyOfZack writer Jesse Richman turned to me and commented that the best parts of heavy music from 2005 were alive once more. I excitedly agreed, as I too had just witnessed Atreyu perform at the top of their game, and now I’m excited again as one of the other recently reunited great heavy bands of the last two decades has announced plans for a nationwide summer tour.

Today, May 5, From Autumn To Ashes revealed plans to embark on a summer …

Pure Noise Records Welcomes No Good News

During the winter of 2014 I discovered a band from New York called No Good News that I immediately knew had something special to their sound. I can’t describe what that something was in detail, but I knew it when I heard it, and with each of the thirty-plus plays I gave their EP since that time I have heard it again and again.

Turns out, I’m not alone in thinking this band could be the next big thing.

Today, Pure Noise Records announced the addition of No Good News to their ever-growing roster of talent. The label will be …

Fucked Up Release New Song “California Cold,” Announce ‘Zodiac Tour’

Fucked Up might be the last incredibly innovative band making hardcore punk music. The band has released a new, eight-minute track called “California Cold,” which serves as the B-side to the upcoming Year Of The Hare 12″ single.

The first three minutes or so of “California Cold” sound like Fucked Up’s best attempt at making a song in the vein of Bon Jovi’s “Wanted Dead Or Alive,” and it actually works pretty well. Flutes appear around the four-minute mark, and it slowly descends into chaos from there. Considering this is just a B-side, I’m excited to see what kind of …

Jessica Pratt

Jessica Pratt Announces US Tour

California folk singer-songwriter Jessica Pratt is a bit of a deity. She plays her guitar as if she has just returned from the ’60s, using her whimsical voice to turn austere guitar playing into something much darker. After releasing her debut self-titled LP in 2012 and the excellent full-length On Your Own Love Again at the beginning of this year, Pratt has gained a devoted cult following. Those on the east coast will be happy to know she’s finally lifting up her heels to travel beyond the west coast at last and perform on this side as well.

On her …

Morrissey Announces 2015 U.S. Tour

This is cause for cautious excitement. Morrissey has been touring the US more and more in recent years, but nearly every run has ended early due to one reason or another. We’re hoping this story has a happier ending, but we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Earlier today, April 3, Morrissey announced plans to embark on a new US tour beginning in June 2015. The six-week run will begin in New Orleans and wrap up on July 25 in San Jose, CA. Along the way, Moz will hit almost every major city, including several dates on the East …

Feel All Of The Feels With Frank Iero’s New Music Video, “She’s The Prettiest Girl…”

The latest music video from ex-My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero, released under the moniker of his new band, frnkiero andthe cellabration, hits viewers right in the feels. The song, “She’s The Prettiest Girl At The Party, And She Can Prove It With A Solid Right Hook…,” is one of the more melancholy numbers on the band’s debut 2014 LP, Stomachaches — and the video follows suit in the most adorable manner. Get a tissue ready, this one makes the heart swell.

Cute to the point it’s disgusting, the song taps into an age-old story of accepting love — …

Tame Impala Release New Single “Let It Happen,” Announce Massive U.S. Tour

It has sort of been a given that we’d get a new album from Australian psych-rockers Tame Impala this year since their name started popping up on seemingly every major festival lineup this spring and summer, from Coachella and Sasquatch! to Shaky Knees and Boston Calling. And while the band still hasn’t officially announced the new album’s title or release date, they’ve offered up our first taste of new material in the form of the nearly 8-minute epic, “Let it Happen.”

The sprawling, synth-y track is said to be the first track on the band’s upcoming third LP and follow-up …
