Speedy Ortiz Unveil Video For “American Horror,” Extend Tour

Speedy Ortiz has kept busy since the internet at large took notice of them. Since the break of Major Arcana, the band has followed with the Real Hair EP earlier this year and the Adult Swim Singles Series submission “Bigger Party.”

The band has released a Peter Binswager-directed, Pitchfork-premiered video steeped with animation in the imagination. We’re taken on deep dives into the inner workings of band members’ brains, and things get weird pretty quickly.

This release was also accompanied by news of the band’s current tour being extended, with dates with Ex Hex Now stretching from …

Charli XCX Announces North American Tour

Oh, Charli. The should-be pop star – for now only a “pop ingenue” or “pop singer” in articles – seems destined to only get tastes of the limelight while featuring on the hits of others. First came “I Love It,” which was fine – that song is fantastic, and Icona Pop is pretty great. The latest instance is more disappointing. She is by far the best part on the problematic summer hit “Fancy,” yet it’s Iggy Azalea who gets all the shine. I’m almost as bitter about this as “We Are Young” being Janelle Monáe’s biggest hit …

Judas Priest Will Tour The U.S. With Steel Panther This Fall

As Judas Priest prepare to release their 17th studio album Redeemer of Souls on July 8, the heavy metal icons have announced a fall U.S. tour to support the album. The tour kicks off on October 1 in Rochester, New York. Glam metal revivalists Steel Panther have been tapped to open all dates, though Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest still hasn’t confirmed a Steel Panther appearance at the festival, which Judas Priest headlines on November 7.

Redeemer of Souls marks the band’s first album without K.K. Downing, as the founding guitarist was replaced by Richie Faulkner in 2011. I’ve included …

Run The Jewels To Hit The Road, El-P Promises More Dates To Be Announced

Run the Jewels, the much-loved power pairing of Killer Mike and El-P, have announced a number of tour dates. The duo saw a lot of success with last year’s lauded self-titled album and have recorded a follow-up, which is expected to drop this year.

The tour dates are largely western United States and Canada thus far, with the exception of two Chicago gigs (an opening spot for Wu-Tang and a set at Lollapalooza) and a stop in Texas for Fun Fun Fun Fest. Don’t get too down yet, east coasters: El-P has promised over on Facebook that …

Against Me! Share NSFW “Drinking With The Jocks” Video, Announce Tour Dates

Against Me! have released a new, NSFW video for Transgender Dysphoria cut “Drinking With The Jocks.” One of the most furious, anxiety-ridden tracks on an album full of the stuff, the Steak Mtn.-directed video follows suit.

Chaotic and frenzied, disjointed and manic, the video is all shaky black and white images of body parts and snippets of lyrics. It’s a visual assault to match the aural one, Worth at least one watch, if not more, the clip is a purposefully difficult watch that conveys to viewers – or thrusts upon them – the physical and mental dysphoria and angst that …

Propagandhi Announce Tour With RVIVR And War On Women

Canada’s friendliest bunch of furious old punks, Propagandhi, have announced a tour with RVIVR and War on Women, giving it the spectacularly and intentionally silly moniker “FAILED STATES – American Re-Assault Revisited (Again) Pt. 2 The Sequel.”

Besides being a trio of bands that are each pretty great at their brand of punk, all three also share a number of ideals. Propagandhi have built a career on fighting capitalism, religion, racism, sexism, homophobia and non-vegan diets. RVIVR’s stances on gender equality are one of the few bits of trivia on their Wikipedia page and often come up in …

Foxing And The Hotelier Announce Co-Headlining Tour

Foxing, who released one of last year’s most heralded emo records, and The Hotelier, who released one of this year’s most heralded emo-ish records, are teaming up for a co-headlining, rising stars tour.

The 18-date tour is strictly eastern United States and Canada, hitting deep south, not-so-frozen north, and mopey midwest in late July and early August. Prawn will support on the first leg, with Little Big League tagging in for the second. Check out the dates below to see if the tour is coming to a city near you, so that you can go and blog about …

The New Pornographers Announce New Album ‘Brill Bruisers’ With Title Track, Tour

After four years away, The New Pornographers have announced the follow-up to 2010′s Together. The album is Brill Busters, and it will be released by Matador Records on August 26.

Accompanying the album nis a single of the same name–a bright, boisterous, and confident rock song that earns its rainbow neon sign artwork. It certainly sells the new album’s narrative.

“This is a celebration record. After periods of difficulty, I am at a place where nothing in my life is dragging me down and the music reflects that,” reads A.C. Newman’s press release quote. “We wanted Xanadu and …

Lykke Li Adds To Lengthy Schedule With North American ‘I Never Learn’ Tour

The album cycle for Lykke Li‘s latest rolls on. Following the release of I Never Learn just over a month ago on Atlantic Records, the Swedish songstress has announced a tour of the same name.

Following several standard summer festival dates, Lykke Li will come over to North America for a tour of, per the poster, 13 dates. That poster promises “more dates to be announced soon…” though. If your state lies nowhere near the current route, it’s quite possible it will soon. Maybe go see The Fault In Our Stars while you wait, which features a non-album song

Wovenwar (Ex-As I Lay Dying) Announce First U.S. Tour

This is technically an announcement for a summer run of Black Label Society tour dates, since, well, they’re technically the headliners. Technically.

But that’s hardly the news here. The big item of discussion is that one of the tour’s openers (the other being Kyng) is Wovenwar, the new band featuring 80% of As I Lay Dying joined by a new frontman in the form of Shane Blay (also of Oh, Sleeper).

As of right now, these dates will mark the band’s first shows, with their debut album set to hit stores this summer through Metal Blade Records. I must …

Stickup Kid And Seaway Announce National Tour With Candy Hearts And Driver Friendly

Mark your calendars, because one of this Summer’s most fun pop-punk tours was just announced. Stickup Kid and Seaway will be co-headlining a national tour this July and August with support from Candy Hearts and Driver Friendly.

Candy Hearts and Driver Friendly will be releasing their new records, All The Ways You Let Me Down and Unimagined Bridges, respectively, this Summer, just in time for this run. While Stickup Kid and Seaway are great headliners, this tour really shines in the support bill. If you haven’t already done so, make sure you take the time to listen to …
