Rise Against (D. SKANK PHOTOGRAPHY)-22

UTG PHOTOS: Rise Against & Touché Amoré (9/26/14)

Under The Gun sent photographer Derek Scancarelli to Best Buy Theater in New York City to photograph Rise Against on September 29, 2014.

Rise Against. The two words can bring together mass amounts of people, regardless of their demographic or where they call home. Whether the audience consists of hundreds or tens of thousands, the legendary Chicago punk quartet will deliver to the best of their ability, because they simply don’t know how to do otherwise.

Last weekend, the band played the Best Buy Theater in the heart of New York City. Times Square was host to a sold-out …

Listen To A New Song Titled “Help Me / End Me” From No Limbs

Sometimes, it’s good to hear some good old-fashioned hardcore music. The type of hardcore that is short and sweet, raw-sounding, and so broken down that it makes you want to jump around your bedroom and wreak havoc like you’re in the most intense mosh pit ever.

Oakland, CA’S four-piece hardcore outfit No Limbs gives us the best example of this type of music in their latest effort. The band will release a 7″ self-titled record that will consist of seven songs that clock in at eight minutes total. Now that’s an old-fashioned hardcore record to the point that it …

Rise Against Announce Fall Tour With Touché Amoré

Though Rise Against‘s popularity amongst the mainstream rock crowd has continued to soar over the past decade, their choice in opening acts shows they haven’t forgotten where they came from. The Chicago punk heroes always put together a great package, exposing some of the underground’s finest acts to arena-sized audiences.

You can now add Los Angeles melodic hardcore masters Touché Amoré and Missouri garage punks Radkey to the long list of beneficiaries, as the two acts have been tapped to open for Rise Against on a U.S. tour that will kick off on September 9 in St. Paul, Minnesota.…

Say Anything Stream “Lost My Touch” Featuring Touché Amoré’s Jeremy Bolm

The excitement and anticipation for Say Anything‘s new album continues this afternoon with the premiere of a song titled “Lost My Touch.”

Featuring Touché Amoré’s Jeremy Bolm, “Lost My Touch” is the fourth song to surface off Hebrews. The song also happens to be the softest and most sentimental offering we have heard, with Bemis and Bolm delivering their signature voices against piano accompaniment for the majority of the track’s runtime. You can stream the song, in full, at the end of this post.

Say Anything have never been a group to keep their lips sealed, and …

Touche Amore Respond To Their Fred Phelps Shirt Controversy

Touche Amore recently released a shirt that has Fred Phelps’ face on it, with his birth date/death and the words “Good Riddance” under it. Shortly after releasing the shirt, the band apparently received a lot of negative feedback which prompted them to write a lengthy statement on the issue.

They explain that this is a redone version of a print they made six years ago. After Phelps’ passing a few days ago, they decided to reprint it with some slight modifications. You can read all of what they had to say by taking a look below the jump.

Adrian Garza’s ‘Best of 2013′ In Music

Well it’s that time of the year where we in the music world collectively follow through to toss in our 2 cents worth of opinions (once more) by means of our “best of” lists. After much thought about it – and believe me, I’ve been working on my list since last month – I’ve finally had the time to slave away and finish this beast off at the end of my college finals week

2013 was such a great year for music and for me as well. There were plenty of artists who either put out incredible debut full-lengths, and …

Tyler Osborne’s ‘Best of 2013′ In Music

It’s coming to the end of 2013, and it’s been a really weird year. Almost every band and their mother has reunited, pop music is now punk music, and ten year anniversary tours are now a norm within the industry. Admittedly, this wasn’t my favorite year for music. Sure, there have been a lot of good albums, but I think the hype machine has been chugging along at a faster rate in 2013, promoting mediocre to good records as something that are better than they actually are.

All of that being said, I do believe that there were still some …

Touche Amore Announce 2014 Tour With Support From Mewithoutyou

If you have seen Touche Amore or La Dispute at any point since either band rose to prominence, you’ve probably overhead a snobby music fan in the back of the room loudly explaining to their friends that both bands harness a style similar to what Mewithoutyou delivered once upon a time. In 2014 fans will have their first chance to see some of these groups perform together, and I can tell you right now most shows will be some of the hottest tickets all spring.

Breaking this afternoon, Touche Amore have announced a string of 2014 performances alongside Mewithoutyou. The …

REVIEW: Touché Amoré – Is Survived By

Band: Touche Amore
Album: Is Survived By
Genre: Post-Hardcore
Label: Deathwish Inc.

The first time I heard Touché Amoré I was in a dark church basement in Philadelphia, getting ready to see hometown favorites Title Fight and The Menzingers. I had heard nothing about Touché other than the claims of a fan waiting in line who excitedly told me how they were absolutely sure I would be a fan of the band following their set. To this day, I have not had such a visceral love after seeing a band perform without any previous knowledge of them going in. …
