As announced by our fellow AbsoluteVoices website PropertyOfZack, this year’s Riot Fest will feature (and take a big breath and sit down before reading all of this) Blink 182, Fall out Boy, The Violent Femmes, Motorhead, Sublime With Rome, Rancid, AFI, Blondie, Public Enemy, Brand New, Flag, Taking Back Sunday, Rocket From The Crypt, Bad Religion, Atmosphere, The Dismemberment Plan, Dinosaur Jr, …

Tigers Jaw Announce Final Tour Dates

A couple of weeks ago, Tigers Jaw announced their breakup, but the bad news came with a silver lining: the band made a brief reference to an upcoming final headlining tour.

So today the news is official, the Pennsylvania indie act will be heading out on an enormous month-long national tour with Topshelf Records’ Pianos Become the Teeth, No Sleep Records’ latest signing, Sainthood Reps, and Dad Punchers, a hardcore band that features members of Touche Amore.

Previously Rumored Touche Amore / Title Fight RSD Split Confirmed; Potential Artwork Leaks

In addition to the plethora of vinyl to be released for Record Store Day 2013, we have come to find out that the recent rumors of Touche Amore and Title Fight‘s split 7″ look to be true.

According to Vintage Vinyl, a record store based out of New Jersey, the split is going to include tracks by each band covering each other’s songs, and is going to be limited to 975 copies. Along with that is the inclusion of a choppy image that looks to be the artwork to TA’s side of the split, but that’s merely …

Deathwish Inc Release Spring Sampler

Ah. Spring is almost here. With all of that comes festival season and a whole mess of free music compilations by various record labels. Among the first wave of these comes Spring 2013, Deathwish Inc.’s fittingly titled spring sampler that features a slew of tracks by the many bands that reflect the label’s aggressive sound.

Included in the 26 track compilation are previously unreleased tracks by bands like Loma Prieta, The Mongoloids, and Cold Cave, along with tracks by the label’s more established bands like Touche Amore, Converge, Code Orange Kids, and Blacklisted

Hesitation Wounds

STREAM: Hesitation Wounds (Touche Amore/ex-Against Me!/Hope Conspiracy) – “A. Smith (Death of a Teenager)”

We’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to one of the latest hardcore side-projects to grace the scene: Hesitation Wounds. The band consists of Jeremy Bolm from Touche Amore, Jay Weinberg (former member of Against Me!), Neeraj Kane of The Hope Conspiracy, and Stephen LaCour (former member of Trap Them). The band released “A. Smith (Death of a Teenager)”, their lead single off of their upcoming self-titled 7″ EP yesterday, and the song absolutely kills.

The project is due for release in April and will be pushed out by Bolm’s own Secret Voice label, which is …

Touché Amoré Have Just Started Writing Again

Last night post-hardcore outfit Touché Amoré revealed that they had just begun writing new music.

The news came courtesy of lead singer Jeremy Bolm’s Twitter feed.

The band has been on a prolific run of releases as of late. Earlier this year the group put out a split with Pianos Become The Teeth. It looks like the group has another split scheduled for 2013 with gritty pop-punkers Title Fight, though that news of that release hasn’t been confirmed by either act or their respective …

frameworks small victories

STREAM: Frameworks – “Sewn”

Don’t let the Gainesville, FL point of origin fool you. Frameworks aren’t a bunch of scruffy, PBR swilling orgcore punks. Well, maybe they drink PBR. I don’t know the guys personally, so who’s to say what their libation of choice is?

No, Frameworks’ tastes and style is far more contemporary. For the uninitiated think along the lines of Touché Amoré or Comadre with more emphasis on melody. There’s some guitar noodling here as well. Not wankery, mind you. Noodling. The screamed vocals and energy keeps things heavy and brutal over the course of their songs.

REVIEW: Pianos Become the Teeth / Touché Amoré – Split

Band: Pianos Become the Teeth/Touché Amoré
Album: Split
Genre: Post-Hardcore
Label: Topshelf Records/Deathwish Inc.

When Topshelf Records and Deathwish Inc. announced they were doing a joint split between their bands Pianos Become the Teeth and Touché Amoré, respectively, it was considered a match made in heaven, at least on the internet (and let’s be honest, everything on the internet is true). These two bands are not only close friends, but their music and fanbases are so similar that everyone went out of their minds. Was it worth the hype? Yes. Yes it was.

Touche Amore And Pianos Become The Teeth Split Streaming, Available For Pre-Order

Two great up and coming bands on two different labels have worked together for a split that’s short and sweet. This one will be up there with my other all time favorite split (Alexisonfire vs. Moneen will go down in history, as far as I’m concerned), but this is as good as it for ones on the shorter side.

It is available for pre-order at both Topshelf Records and at Deathwish. We streamed “Hiding” by Pianos Become The Teeth the other day, but this will be your first chance to hear “Gravity, Metaphorically” by Touche Amore. Check out …

Earlier today LA act Pianos Become The Teeth partnered with AOL’s Spinner to premiere their latest single, “Hiding.” The song is taken from the group’s upcoming split with Touche Amore, which is currently scheduled for 7″ release later this month through a collaborative effort by TopShelf Records and Deathwish Inc. WATCH: Touche Amore – “Home Away From Here”

Watch Touche Amore perform “Home Away From Here” live on Altar TV‘s Live at the Show web series.

“‘Home Away From Here’ is pretty cut and dry. It’s the poppiest song we’ve ever written.” says Touche Amore vocalist Jerermy Bolm in the video. ”That song is basically about finding comfort in distance…”

The song is from the band’s 2011 release, Parting the Sea Between Brightness and Me, which is available on iTunes. The band will also be releasing a split record with Pianos Become The Teeth, due for digital release on January 8 and vinyl on …
