Tony Scott, Director Of “Top Gun,” Dead at 68

Tonight just took a turn for the tragic.

According to various sources (and seemingly stemming from TheWrap), Tony Scott, director of such films as Top Gun and True Romance, has died of an apparent suicide. He was 68.

From what we’ve been able to gather since learning of Scott’s death, it seems the famed filmmaker jumped off the Vincent Thomas bridge near Long Beach on Sunday and died from his injuries. TheDailyBreeze claims U.S. Coast Guard told them a suicide note was found inside Scott’s black Toyota Prius, which was parked on one of the eastbound lanes of …

Tom Cruise is amidst a blitz of press for his latest Mission Impossible flick and recently spilt the beans about another sequel that is sure to equally overjoy and piss off the internet.

“Top Gun 3D” Coming To Theaters

This headline is as bad as it sounds, but now as bad as it could be. For starters, they ARE NOT remaking Top Gun. However, they are converting the original film into 3D and planning a theatrical release sometime within the next year.

Call it a lack of ideas or execs seeing just how much money they can take from the pockets of brainless entertainment junkies, but this “new crazy” of converting old films into 3D and charging us literally double (in some cases triple) what we paid to see it originally needs to stop.
