Adrian Garza Some of rock music’s finest have teamed up with one of hip hop’s best recently for a release that’s guaranteed to be a hit.
The folks over at Rock Transmission were the ones to break the news early last night that Van Halen‘s Eddie Van Halen, Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine, and Travis Barker of blink-182 will all be appearing on LL Cool J‘s thirteenth full length record, Authentic.

November 19th, 2012 Dan Bogosian Fellow Buzzmedia music site SPIN have got a stream off the upcoming Rage Against The Machine re-release, XX. We’ve got it embedded here, but you can still enter to win a free copy of the deluxe box set here. The song, “Mindset’s a Threat”, is clearly from before the original demo, as the lyrics reference the time of the early 90s. It still features a crazy guitar solo though.

Previously, TMZ had two run ins with Rage Against The Machine bassist Tim Commerford, both in random Los Angeles parking lots, in which Tim basically insinuated (in a joking way) that a new RATM album may have been in the works. September 28th, 2012 Anthony Galasso Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave, Tim McIlrath of Rise Against and Serj Tankian of System of a Down have released a song for the Occupy Wall Street movement’s first birthday.

March 16th, 2012 Grace Duffy Bruce Springsteen teamed up with Tom Morello and members of Arcade Fire and The Animals to deliver a stunning rendition of “This Land Is Your Land” at South By Southwest last night. Filmed inside the Moody Theater, Springsteen and the E Street Band had just completed a storming two-and-a-half-hour set when they invited a number of other artists to join them for the big finale.
August 30th, 2011 Grant Trimboli Well, bummer! Rage Against Against The Machine’s guitarist Tom Morello has issued an official statement regarding the future plans for the funk rock group. He said, “I completely understand people want to hear we’re in the studio making a record. We are not – I’m sorry.”
One of my favorite acts of the 1990′s hinted at a comeback a little while before their epic L.A. Rising festival on July 30, 2011. RATM rocked the house and it looked promising that the group would be making some sort of return.
