Manchester Orchestra / Thrice Release Split Artwork; Featuring O’Brother

Manchester Orchestra and Thrice have released the artwork for their high-anticipated split and can be viewed right here on Under The Gun Review.

The most exciting part of the news, besides the awesome cover, is the fact O’Brother will be appearing on Manchester Orchestra’s track. We did not even consider a curve ball like that from either band. There is currently no set release date but we will keep up on the latest news from each group.

ALBUM STREAM: Thrice – ‘Anthology’

Thrice has recently delayed the release of their upcoming live album Anthology on vinyl. But now, regardless of how you ordered it, you can hear it streaming online.

The band is currently on hiatus. Let’s hope it ends soon so we can get more new tunes rather than just live recordings (although this is a pretty good live album.)

Thrice Delay LP Release

Alternative band Thrice have a new live album coming out titled Anthology. Unfortunately, they have been forced to delay the LP release of it. Vinyl elitists everywhere are disappointed.

Luckily, downloaders and CD purchasers will still get the release on its intended release date of October 30. You can blame the manufacturer for not keeping up to the task. For the full statement from the band on the delay, click “Read more.”

Thrice Announce “Anthology” Box Set Release Date

Thrice have announced that they will be putting out their Anthology live box set on October 30 and the UTG staff is excited for the release.

This live set will include 24 songs on two CDs and as a limited edition, with only 3,000 being numbered and released. Also included is a 24-page booklet, 2 black LP’s and 2 white LP’s all on 180 gram vinyl. UTG will have the official track-listing soon so stay tuned.

Dustin Kensrue explains his new band, The Modern Post.

Dustin Kensrue of Thrice has recently announced his new band’s debut EP. The band is The Modern Post, a worship band founded by Dustin at the Mars Hill Church where he serves as a Deacon.

For those who were unaware of this new project, Dustin reached out to his Twitter followers last night to explain a few things bout the lyrical content, direction, and what separates The Modern Post from Thrice.

Clarification. Read this whole post if you are confused about why the lyrics of the new EP are overtly Christian.

Thrice Announce A New Live Album, To Be Titled Anthology

Just because Thrice is on hiatus doesn’t mean that we won’t hear of any new developments from the group. The band has recorded about 2 CDs worth of songs that have spanned the band’s entire genre-shattering career at select stops from their farewell tour this past spring for an upcoming live album that’s fittingly titled AnthologyAnthology will be released through Staple Records/Workhorse Music Group.

Kensrue Explains Move to Worship, Fallon Defends

Thrice lead singer Dustin Kensrue has had the ominous distinction of being the Yoko Ono to Thrice’s indefinite hiatus. Many fans have blamed Kensrue for breaking the band up in order to pursue a new future as a worship singer. Well, in a recent post on Kensrue’s church’s blog, he explained his decision to move towards a worship career and how he intends to “shake up” the worship music scene.
