A release date has not been determined yet but the album will be distributed through Staple Records/Vagrant Records. Check out what Kensrue had to say about the songs that will be …

The Republic Of Wolves Release ‘Covers Vol. 1′ For Free

Members in Long Island indie band The Republic of Wolves are always on the move with Mason Maggio and Christian Van Duers releasing a new album with Tigers On Trains this past month and Billy Dupree debuting his new solo album in The Year Fifteen back in April.

In the past though, the four-piece would come around and post covers of various songs on YouTube, to the point that fans were calling for a compilation. That day has come, for the band has released a covers album on Bandcamp and it’s free to the public. The collection features 15 covers …

That is also the case for the baseball-centric grindcore outfit Puig Destroyer. Songs For The Season: Fall Playlist

Autumn may be the most visually rewarding season that nature has gifted us. While all the other seasons are sure to give it a fair fight, there is something about the orange, red, and yellow change in the leaves that gift us new enlightenment and invigoration in the natural world around us.

But what would the striking change in season be without the illumination of sonic assistance? Entering our third playlist for the seasons, UTG is happy to present to you our favorite songs to pair with the crisping air, a nice glass of apple cider, and of course, pumpkin …

Puig Destroyer Stream Baseball-Themed “Batflip”

The baseball season is slowly coming to an end and teams are fighting to the “grind” to either be on top of their respective division or for the last wild card spot before the postseason begins. With this being said, Puig Destroyer are streaming another song today off their self-titled debut that is all about baseball.

The song is called “Batflip” and it is another short song that is filled with banging drums and tremolo/harmonic guitars with aggression like its preceding songs “Mike Trout” and “No One Cares About Your Fantasy Team.” The album will be …

Puig Destroyer Stream “No One Cares About Your Fantasy Team”

With the baseball season nearing its end, grindcore/baseball mogul-filled band Puig Destroyer released another song today.

Premiering on Deadspin, the track is called “No One Cares About Your Fantasy Team” and it’s a blazing 48-second song literally about no one caring about your fantasy team. The track is part of a twenty-song slew of baseball-related subjects like the previous single they released named “Mike Trout”, who is about none other than the Los Angeles Angels star.

The debut full-length from the band will be released September 30 via No Sleep Records and you can pre-order the album here

Thrice may be slowly but surely transitioning out of their hiatus, but frontman Dustin Kensrue has been steadily keeping up his solo efforts to back his second full-length album, The Water And The Blood. Recently at Dallas, TX’s Pegasus Music Festival, Kensrue whooped out a cover of “Buzzcut Season,” which comes off of Lorde’s debut album, Pure Heroine.

We don’t know why he had chosen to cover one of 2013′s breakout artists at this festival, but we do know that we absolutely loved the performance. Follow the jump to watch a fan-made recording, and be sure to …

Riley Breckenridge Posts New Puig Destroyer Tracks

If you’ve been keeping up with the members of Thrice and what they’re doing now, you’ve certainly heard of Riley Breckenridge and his involvement with Puig Destroyer; one intense, loud, almost thrash-filled project that’s as entertaining as it is terrifying.

It’s quite the departure from Thrice, but that’s half of the fun. With every track he releases, I just find myself laughing more. The metal roots that were heard in some of Riley’s drumming all throughout the existence of Thrice are alive and more evolved than ever before, and its fitting. It’s also sure to abandon some of you and …

From the looks of an Instagram post from The Receiving End Of Sirens‘ Brian Southall, Thrice‘s Eddie Breckenridge, The Casket Lottery‘s Nathan Ellis, Hopesfall‘s Jason Trabue, and Southall himself are working on some kind of project. No details have been announced regarding the project, but it sure looks like they’re forming a supergroup. The caption says that they’re rehearsing, so some sort of live show or recording should be coming in the future.

You can check out Southall’s post after the jump. As a pretty big TREOS fan, I’m definitely interested in seeing what happens with …
