Jacob Tender’s ‘Best Of 2013′ In Music

‘Tis the season to make the most difficult choices I have to make all year. Seriously, my life is easy enough to make that statement true. I hate making these lists, more-so this year than any year previous. Yet I’m obligated to do so. So here I am.

You see, in January, I told myself that it would be a good idea to listen to more music. What resulted in that was a fine list of albums that I liked, some that I loved, and some that surprised me. Come December, I had roughly 90 records in a tidy Google …

The Maine Release New Lyric Video

Tempe, Arizona pop rock group The Maine have released a new lyric video for “Visions,” which you can watch after the break. The harmonica-laced ballad comes from their new acoustic EP, Imaginary Numbers, which was released this week in partnership with 8123 Management.

Imaginary Numbers comes only six months after The Maine’s most recent full-length, Forever Halloween, and the band took a more do-it-yourself approach than usual on this release, producing and recording it themselves. If you enjoy the mellow side of The Maine on display in the lyric video, pick up the full EP on iTunes.…

This Century’s newest album, Biography of Heartbreak, came out this past May and has been throbbing the hearts of girls from Arizona to New York City. The line of fans outside the show was shocking. Hours …

UTG SESSION: Acoustic Performance & Interview With Nick Santino & The Northern Wind

When ‘The Up Close and Personal Tour’ came through Long Island, NY this past weekend, I couldn’t resist showing up to see a lineup stacked with 8123 artists. UTG TV caught up with Nick Santino & The Northern Wind (as well as This Century) to shoot some exclusive acoustic footage and conduct some interviews.

When you hear the name Nick Santino, you may automatically think about A Rocket To The Moon, but hopefully the following two songs will help demonstrate that his new project certainly has a lot to offer. Below the jump you can see the two …

The Maine Announce Acoustic EP, Stream Clips

The Maine have been consistently releasing polished pop rock music since 2007, and this year has been no different. The Tempe, AZ group released a full-length, Forever Halloween in June, and they have announced that their next release will be an acoustic EP called Imaginary Numbers.

Along with the announcement of Imaginary Numbers, the band posted a video featuring clips of each song on the EP. Fans of The Maine’s past work will no doubt love the quieter side they show in the clips, which are heavy on the piano, bells, and acoustic guitars.

The EP is out …

The Maine Are Heading To The Philippines

The Maine tweeted a picture that only answered one question, will they be touring in the Philippines soon? They will be there January 2014, but there are no dates or venues yet.

They released their fourth LP this year, Forever Halloween, and it did pretty well. Fans showed their support and it debuted at number 39 on the Billboard 200 charts. That led The Maine to touring this past summer with A Rocket To The Moon, This Century and Brighten on The 8123 Tour in the US.

Before they head to the Philippines in January The Maine will remain …

The Maine Tweet They “Owe It To You” Not To Sell VIP Packages

A fan tweeted The Maine asking them if they were planning selling VIP tickets on their upcoming tour. Considering the fan asked if they would be selling “$80 polaroids,” they were likely referencing the VIP package that was announced by Sleeping With Sirens which has been quite the hot topic over the last week or so. The Maine promptly responded and stated that they owe it to their fans not to charge for VIP tickets, and that they will hang out after the show to say hi. You can read those tweets by taking a look below the jump.

Already receiving quite a response from fans and landing on the Billboard charts, the back-to-basics album will start a new chapter in the band’s career. Produced through traditional means of recording by The Raconteurs’ Brendan Benson, the raw nature of the record is purveyed only better through live performance.

The band is currently on tour in support of the release, taking along A Rocket To The Moon (on their final tour ever), This Century, and Brighten on “The 8123 Tour.”
