To celebrate the band’s eighth year together, The Maine have announced a series of completely free admission shows for the fall. The band has reportedly been planning a tour like this for quite some time now. Over the past year, the band has taken to Twitter inquiries from fans about potential venues; now the tour comes to life.

If that wasn’t enough to keep your attention, the band will also be playing American Candy, their well-recieved most recent full-length effort, live and in full on a separate set of tour dates.

The Maine Unveil “English Girls” Music Video

Having recently wrapped up the North American leg of tour, Arizona alt-rock outfit The Maine have just premiered a new music video for “English Girls,” the lead single to their brand new record, American Candy.

The video features a quirky narrative depiction of the catchy track’s plot: a series of unfortunate encounters at a pub. Frontman John O’Callaghan is magically given the ability to go back in time and remedy all these mishaps. You can watch the whole thing below.

Stream The Maine’s New Single, “Miles Away”

The Maine are gearing up to release their sixth full-length album at the end of this month, titled American Candy. The album won’t come out for another three weeks, so fans have had to get by listening to their lead single, “English Girls.”

The band has finally given us another new track off the album, which is titled “Miles Away.” The song comes with a simple lyric video that features the band members blowing bubbles with bright pink bubblegum. You can watch the video below.

In anticipation of their upcoming fifth studio album, entitled American CandyThe Maine have just put out a cover of “The Drugs” by Weatherbox.

The band has previously talked about wanting to cover older songs and they have apparently been listening to this song for about ten years now. Their solid rendition features Real Friends, Knuckle Puck, and The Technicolors, all of whom will be joining them for a full U.S. tour this spring.

Real Friends To Release ‘More Acoustic Songs’ EP

In celebration of Record Store Day this April, Illinois pop-punk five-piece Real Friends will be putting out a new acoustic EP via Fearless Records. Due out on April 28, More Acoustic Songs will be comprised of four new, original acoustic tracks.

The four-track compilation will follow their crowd-pleaser EP, Put Yourself Back Together, from 2013 and their debut full-length from the past year, entitled Maybe This Place Is The Same And We’re Just Changing.

A More Acoustic Songs picture disc will be available for RSD on April 18 and will be limited to 2,000 copies.

The Maine Announce Spring Headlining Tour Featuring Real Friends, Knuckle Puck, And The Technicolors

Every time I see The Maine in the news, I have to remind myself that this is not the same band that released Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop and Black and White back in the neon days of yore.

The Tempe, AZ indie pop group have announced plans to head out on a monster Spring headlining tour with support from pop-punk giants Real Friends and recent Rise Records signees Knuckle Puck. The Technicolors will be opening each night of the tour, which starts with an April 4 hometown show for The Maine in Tempe and runs through mid-May.

The Maine Announce New Album, ‘American Candy’

After almost three months of keeping everybody in the dark, The Maine have finally returned on social media to announce the release of their upcoming record, entitled American Candy. Although no further details have surfaced, the alt-rock outfit have revealed that they will be releasing the effort some time in the spring via their own label, 81twentythree.

American Candy will serve as the followup to their previous, analog-recorded full-length album, Forever Halloween, which was produced by Brendan Benson (The Raconteurs).
