‘No Good Deed’ Intruded into Theaters and Made $24.5 Million

No Good Deed didn’t need a stacked budget or flashy effects to knock Guardians of the Galaxy from the top of the weekend charts. Which goes to show that sometimes, what the box office really needs to get revived is a good old-fashioned scare from a home invasion thriller.

The Screen Gems film made an estimated $24.5 million this weekend, which is a mighty feat considering its harsh 12% Rotten Tomatoes rating. Right behind it came Dolphin Tale 2, which sadly enough, didn’t measure up to the 2011 original’s $19.2 million debut pull, but only coming up with …

MOVIE REVIEW: ‘The Drop’ Is A Lingering Human Drama

Film: The Drop
Starring: Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, James Gandolfini
Directed By: Michaël R. Roskam

Dennis Lehane, the author behind Gone Baby Gone, Shutter Island, and Mystic River trades violence in for humanistic subtlety with The Drop, based upon his short story Animal Rescue. Focusing on producers who aren’t headlining Ultra Music Festival and Tomorrowland (not yet, anyway), this list will provide you with five artists and their must-hear tracks. If you have any suggestions for who should be added to the next edition of this feature, contact Michael …
