Black Widow Confirmed For ‘Captain America 2′; Set Photos Surface Online

Production is currently underway on Captain America 2, aka Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and this morning new photos from the set confirmed the appearance of another Avenger for the 2014 release.

Appearing first on ScreenCrush, the latest set photos from the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier have confirmed the inclusion of fellow Avenger Black Widow (Scarlett Johanson) in the upcoming Marvel epic. Though no details regarding her role in the film have been released before now, the images posted also happen to feature S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jasper Sitwell (Maximiliano Hernandez). He has not been very …

MOVIE TRAILER: ‘Iron Man 3′

Holy Shit. I am a Marvel movie fanboy until the day they turn me to ash or bury me in the ground, but I think I may have found a way to love them even more after witnessing what you’re about to see.

Setting the tone for a post-Avengers universe, Iron Man 3 arrives in theaters next May to show fans where Tony Stark has been since we left him eating alongside his superhero brethren. Apparently, the effects of New York have shaken Tony to the point that he is no longer sleeping well, and it seems clear from …

Sneak Peek: Avengers Blu-Ray Clip

As the DVD release of Marvel’s crusading Avengers draws closer, so the marketing campaign is going into overdrive. Last night we brought you a deleted scene involving Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, and this morning a clip has surfaced from a documentary to be included on the Blu-ray disc. It depicts Ruffalo, Joss Whedon, and Tom Hiddleston waxing lyrical about Nick Fury himself, Samuel L. Jackson. It can be viewed after the jump.

Joss Whedon To Write And Direct Avengers 2

Excitement abounds from the movie mill this morning, as Disney and Marvel have announced that Joss Whedon will return to write and direct The Avengers 2.

While it’s no great surprise to see the man who helmed the third biggest box office hit of all time (with a haul of just under $1.5 billion worldwide) return, it is nonetheless refreshing to see the studios place faith in a fan favourite. Marvel’s action-packed Avengers went down a treat with cinemagoers and reviewers alike earlier this year, with many crediting Whedon’s sharp writing and direction for turning the project from a …

The Dark Knight Rises Earns $25 Million In Advance Ticket Sales Alone

With just one day to go until its release worldwide, the Most Anticipated Movie of the Summer (our emphasis) The Dark Knight Rises has already clocked up a mouth-watering $25 million in advance ticket sales. Christopher Nolan’s final Batman behemoth is capitalising on a viral marketing campaign and the anticipation of cinema-goers everywhere as it looks ripe to smash the $158.4 million opening of its predecessor, The Dark Knight.

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE RESULTS: JUNE 22-24

I really do not think it would be a stretch to say that this weekend would have been easy to predict for the top box office slot. Pixar’s new movie Brave claimed the title raking in more green than the lush Scottish countryside most of the film was set in. Honest Abe failed to be a big draw with Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter taking the number three slot despite lots of buzz on the internet, and the new indie comedy/drama Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World managed to cling to the top ten list right at the …

UTG’s Best Of 2012 (So Far…)

Seems like just yesterday we were rolling into 2012 with our “5 Bands To Watch” feature, but a glance at the calendar over the last week reminded the UTG staff that the year is already half gone. Discussing our triumphs and failures over the past few months lead to a discussion on the art that has stuck with us and, as always, the idea to release a new list feature was born.

If one thing is glaringly clear from entertainment in 2012, it’s that there is not only something for everyone, there is an abundance of it. We do our …

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE RESULTS: June 15-17

It was a slow weekend for moviegoers, probably due to the new releases available to see. Rock Of Ages barely beat out Snow White And The Huntsman for a number three spot, most likely because no one under the age of forty is going to watch a movie where a 50 year old Tom Cruise is a rock god. Even more disappointing are the weekend numbers for That’s My Boy. Hopefully this means everyone is finally sick of Adam Sandler after his last terrible movie, Jack And Jill. You can see the top ten movies from the weekend …

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE RESULTS: June 1-3

The beginning of June saw the rise of another “blockbuster” as Snow White And The Huntsman takes the top spot at the box office last weekend. Somehow people managed to love the fairy tale rehash despite it being met with some pretty bad reviews. It goes to show you that the producers in Hollywood are great at milking a sick cow to death and convincing everyone that they need a drink. You can see the full top ten list and how much each movie made this weekend after the jump.

Will Smith stars in Columbia Pictures' MEN IN BLACK 3.

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE RESULTS: May 25-27

The Avengers have finally been dethroned as Men In Black 3 takes the top spot at the box office this week. After nearly a month on top The Avengers drops to second place while the family friendly Will Smith movie, Men In Black 3 wins over American audiences despite luke-warm reviews. Battleship continues to sink, and newly released Chernobyl Diaries ends up somewhere in the middle of the charts where it belongs. You can see the full top ten list from the weekend and how much each movie made after the jump.

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE RESULTS: May 18-20

Once again The Avengers can not be defeated. Marvel’s hit superhero movie tops the chart yet again, making more than the three new major releases made combined. Taking second place this week was Battleship, which has proved that a board game no one plays after they turn 14 is a bad subject for a movie. Battleship has quite the fight ahead if it hopes to at least break even, as it cost just north of 200 million to make. You can see the top ten list for the weekend and how much the movies made after the jump.

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE RESULTS: (May 11-13)

Marvel’s The Avengers continues to reign supreme for the second weekend in a row, continuing to break all sorts of records. This weekend the superhero flick tops the box office numbers for a second weekend in a row, beating out Avatar for the record for best second weekend ticket sales. Dark Shadows opened at the number two slot, proving that people would rather see a superhero movie again than sit through yet another Tim Burton movie staring Johnny Depp with a creepy vibe. Surprisingly Girl In Progress grabbed a top ten spot this weekend, which is great for a movie …
