Black Widow Confirmed For ‘Captain America 2′; Set Photos Surface Online

Production is currently underway on Captain America 2, aka Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and this morning new photos from the set confirmed the appearance of another Avenger for the 2014 release.

Appearing first on ScreenCrush, the latest set photos from the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier have confirmed the inclusion of fellow Avenger Black Widow (Scarlett Johanson) in the upcoming Marvel epic. Sneak Peek: Avengers Blu-Ray Clip

As the DVD release of Marvel’s crusading Avengers draws closer, so the marketing campaign is going into overdrive. Last night we brought you a deleted scene involving Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, and this morning a clip has surfaced from a documentary to be included on the Blu-ray disc. It depicts Ruffalo, Joss Whedon, and Tom Hiddleston waxing lyrical about Nick Fury himself, Samuel L. Jackson. It can be viewed after the jump.

It was a slow weekend for moviegoers, probably due to the new releases available to see. Rock Of Ages barely beat out Snow White And The Huntsman for a number three spot, most likely because no one under the age of forty is going to watch a movie where a 50 year old Tom Cruise is a rock god. The Avengers have finally been dethroned as Men In Black 3 takes the top spot at the box office this week. After nearly a month on top The Avengers drops to second place while the family friendly Will Smith movie, Men In Black 3 wins over American audiences despite luke-warm reviews. Battleship continues to sink, and newly released Chernobyl Diaries ends up somewhere in the middle of the charts where it belongs. Once again The Avengers can not be defeated. Marvel’s hit superhero movie tops the chart yet again, making more than the three new major releases made combined. Taking second place this week was Battleship, which has proved that a board game no one plays after they turn 14 is a bad subject for a movie. Battleship has quite the fight ahead if it hopes to at least break even, as it cost just north of 200 million to make. Marvel’s The Avengers continues to reign supreme for the second weekend in a row, continuing to break all sorts of records. This weekend the superhero flick tops the box office numbers for a second weekend in a row, beating out Avatar for the record for best second weekend ticket sales. Dark Shadows opened at the number two slot, proving that people would rather see a superhero movie again than sit through yet another Tim Burton movie staring Johnny Depp with a creepy vibe.
