The Audition’s Danny Stevens Undergoing Vocal Surgery; Band Drops Off Tour

The Audition announced earlier tonight that their vocalist Danny Stevens will be undergoing vocal surgery, which forces the band to drop off the current run with Marianas Trench.

“Due to unfortunate circumstances, The Audition will not appear with Mariana’s Trench on the remainder of their tour dates (Chicago and Detroit). The band is taking several weeks off so that Danny can undergo minor vocal surgery and take the necessary time to rest and recuperate after. …

The Audition Interview With Front Row Live Ent.

The Audition took some time out of their hectic tour schedule to sit down with our friends at Front Row Live Entertainment and the results are fantastic!

Danny and Tim discussed the band’s two year break, their latest EP Chapter II, upcoming events and much more. The duo also performed an acoustic rendition of their song “You Gotta Believe” and give us a taste of the new material.

After parting ways with Victory Records in July 2010, the future for Chicago pop-rockers The Audition was unknown; so much so that some fans were led to believe the band had called it a day. However now in February 2012, the band have returned albeit a slight line-up change; Joe Lussa has re-joined on bass and Jimmy Lopez has replaced the departed Seth Johnson on guitar. Nevertheless Chapter II sees a band that is refreshed and ready to take on the world.

The Audition Added To Every Avenue/WATIC Tour

Unsigned act The Audition have revealed that they are added to Every Avenue and We Are The In Crowd’s co-headlining tour in February. The run starts in Cleveland on February 14 and ends in Chicago (their hometown) on March 24. Direct support for this tour will come from Plug In Stereo and Simple As Surgery so be sure to check out a show our two.

STREAM: The Audition – You Make Me Sick (Demo)

Out of the blue this morning The Audition have chosen to release a new demo for our listening pleasure. The song is entitled “You Make Me Sick.”

The band is currently in the studio recording a new EP with John Naclerio (Brand New, Bayside) producing it. The release date is said to be sometime early 2012 and we are not 100% sure this song will be on the EP.

More bands added to GK Holiday Festival

More bands have been added to A Very GK! Holiday Festival hosted by Glamour Kills. The festival is taking place on December 16th & 17th in Poughkeepsie, NY and December 18th & 19th in Danbury, CT.
