REVIEW: Fit For A King – ‘Slave To Nothing’

Artist: Fit For A King
Album: Slave To Nothing
Genre: Metalcore
Label: Solid State Records

If any band had the year of their lives in 2013, the honor would most likely go to Texan metalcore outfit, Fit For A King. After laying claim to the most successful debut in Solid State Records history via the sonic yin and yang of Creation/Destruction, the group proceeded to hop on tour after tour while being granted the ability to re-record their independently released full-length of yesteryear, Descendants. Rather than dedicate 2014 to more touring in support of both releases, though, …

Joyce Manor Clash With Concertgoer Over Stage Dives In Houston (VIDEO)

Joyce Manor have been making a lot of headlines this week for essentially taking a stance against the proliferation of stage dives, especially at shows where they happen to be performing. These headlines apparently did not reach every concertgoer in attendance at the band’s show in Houston last night, September 26, because mid-way through the group’s set the entire performance was put on hold to address one person vocalist/guitarist Barry Johnson could not stand. Lucky for us, the whole thing was captured on video.

Here’s the scene: Joyce Manor were performing to a packed house when one young man decided …

Mineral Lost Thousands of Dollars When Van Was Broken Into Last Night

This fall, Mineral have been touring around North America, making people’s dreams come true by playing live for the first time in 17 years. The long-defunct Texas emo act are responsible for the rise of so many modern bands like Balance and Composure, Into It. Over It., and countless more. So when they announced tour dates, emo fans flipped out.

The difference between touring in 1997 and touring now is, unfortunately, how easy it is to have your stuff stolen. According to the band’s Facebook page, someone broke into their locked van last night in St. Louis and …

Abigail Breslin Gets Wild In Magic Man’s Newest Music Video

A few months back, Boston’s Magic Man graced us with their major label debut, Before The Waves, a lush arrangement of driving synth-pop ditties that proved to be a more than fitting summer soundtrack. Late last week, the toe-tapping track “Texas” was announced as the album’s second single, and likewise, was given an accompanying music video, which you can check out after the break.

A follow-up to “Paris,” “Texas” premiered over at Clash last Thursday, and like its predecessor, takes viewers on a colorful whirlwind journey, this time alongside Little Miss Sunshine actress Abigail Breslin. If …

MUSIC VIDEO: Fit For A King – “Keep Me Alive”

Solid State Records’ Fit For A King have released visuals for “Keep Me Alive,” a brand new cut that will be featured on the re-release of the group’s debut record, Descendants. It is fitting that the track will be found alongside cuts from Descendants as it actively favors the record’s sound rather than the overall heavier atmosphere of their most recent release, Creation|Destruction.

Follow the jump to check out the music video for “Keep Me Alive” and be sure to let us know your thoughts on the song in the comments section below.…

LISTEN: Fit For A King – “Ancient Waters” (Remastered)

Texan metalcore outfit Fit For A King have made it a point this year to tease an announcement concerning the re-release of their debut record, Descendants. After months of waiting, the first taste of the project is finally here, and it can be streamed after the jump. While still recognizably “Ancient Waters,” the rerecorded, reproduced, and remastered track finds the group experimenting with their sound and making some notable changes, especially in regards to vocal styles.

The re-release of Descendants (which also features a brand new track) is set to drop November 25, but pre-orders are available here for those …

The Fall Of Troy Reuniting For Three Shows In Texas, Playing First Three Albums In Full

Most reunions that have happened have come on the tenth anniversary of a band’s biggest album. The Fall of Troy will reunite this December to perform their first three albums in full with the original lineup; other sites are incorrectly reporting they will perform their entire discography, but this is not the case, as the band has four studio albums: The Fall Of Troy, Doppelgänger, Manipulator, and In The Unlikely Event (this also ignores two studio EPs, Ghostship and Phantom on the Horizon).

The band posted the following message on Facebook:

Well well well…

REVIEW + INTERVIEW: Thirtyseven – ‘This Is What I Want’

Artist: Thirtyseven
Album: This Is What I Want
Genre: Pop-punk
Label: Blood & Ink Records

Pop-punk crusaders Thirtyseven have released their long-awaited debut full-length, This Is What I Want, and it appears this high-energy and diverse dose of poppy hooks and fist-pumping gang vocals were well worth the wait. The Texas-based trio successfully mirror fantastic pop-punk and punk rock on This Is What I Want, from “Calling Out,” a track worth of Sum 41‘s Does This Look Infected? to MXPX influenced closing number “Moving On.”…
