Fingers Crossed Stream Debut LP On Bandcamp

Houston, Texas punk quartet Fingers Crossed have uploaded a stream of their debut LP, Dedos Crusados, onto Bandcamp. The album is available for the low price of five dollars.

According to the band, the lyrics for this release center around lost communication and a strong internal struggle. Dedos Crusados is a huge step for Fingers Crossed and solidifies this collection as their most mature songs to date. Mixing and mastering for this independent release were handled by Stephen Egerton of Descendents fame.

First Round of SXSW Bands Announced; Application Deadline Pushed Back

SXSW is approaching faster than you think and this morning the first round of performing artists were announced. The list, which you can find below, features acts of all genres from around the world and barely begins to scrape the total list of artists who will eventually make the trek to Austin in March 2013. SXSW Music has extended the showcase application deadline for acts to apply to perform at the 2013 music festival through Friday, November 9, 2012. Lil Wayne Released From Hospital; Management Issues Statement

Hip hop fans have been expressing support for YMCMB mastermind Lil Wayne ever since news broke late yesterday that the star had been admitted to a Texas hospital following “seizure-like” conditions. We did our best to bring you the facts, though they were few, and now we have an official update.

Just moments ago, UTG received the following statement from Lil Wayne’s management:

Lil Wayne was successfully released from the hospital after being treated for a severe migraine and dehydration. He is at home on doctor mandated rest and will return to work soon. He appreciates all of his fans

Lil Wayne Hospitalized In Texas With “Seizure-Like” Symptoms

Lil Wayne made an unexpected stop in Texas while flying last night after suffering from seizure-like symptoms. Few details are available at this time, but TMZ first broke the story last night claiming Wayne was rushed to the hospital as the plane touched down.

As of this morning no one from Wayne’s camp has offered an update regarding the rapper’s health, but “sources” close to the situation have told the gossip site he is doing much better. We will update you when an announcement is made.

Cops Find Heroin, Loaded Guns, and Ten Pounds Of Marijuana On Nelly’s Bus; Rapper Escapes Arrest

Damn Nelly, you’ve really started some shit this time.

While touring through Texas last night, Nelly and his crew were detained while cops searched the Country Grammar star’s bus. During their operation, law enforcement officials recovered a thirty-six baggies of heroin, as well as a loaded gun and what is being reported as over ten pounds of marijuana.

After their search, one of the bus passengers by the name of Brian Keith Jones stepped forward to admit the drugs and gun were his and was subsequently placed under arrest. Everyone else, including Nelly, were released.

Explosions in the Sky have released a new music video today for their song “Postcard from 1952,” which comes off of their album Take Care, Take Care, Take Care. The music video was shot and directed by Peter Simonite, a cinematographer on 2011′s Terrance Malick film The Tree of Life.
