Seattle’s music and art festival, Bumbershoot, has been going on since the 1970s, but only recently have its headlining acts stepped up their game. The festival, which takes place August 31 through September 2, is headlined by fun., Death Cab For Cutie, MGMT, Kendrick Lamar, Heart, and Tegan & Sara – certainly, nothing to scoff at.

Now it seems Ben Gibbard is on a 2003 kick. First he got The Postal Service back together, and now, at Bumbershoot, he plans to play 2003′s Transatlantacism all the way through during their set. If only I could get fun. …

One week after the successful release of their seventh album, Tegan and Sara have announced that they will be accompanying indie-pop group, fun. on their The Most Nights Summer Tour. In 2012 the Canadian twins toured with indie-pop groups The Killers as well as The Black Keys, and will be hitting the road again to promote their new album, Heartthrob. Tegan and Sara‘s seventh studio album, Heartthrob, is now streaming in its entirety at RollingStone.com.

RollingStone.com is calling this new album “undeniably dance-y synth-pop” with “deep bass and gigantic, enveloping hooks quite removed from the guitar-based music they made their name with.”

On the topic of the genre shift, Tegan told Rolling Stone last month, “We did have to make a conscious effort to make our record sonically more smooth and pleasing. We didn’t want to take a small step. We wanted to take a big step.”

Tegan and Sara To Celebrate ‘Heartthrob’ in Boston, Live Stream Available

Tegan and Sara will be releasing their seventh studio album, Heartthrob, on January 29. To celebrate, the dynamic duo from Canada will be teaming up with MTV Hive on January 27 at 8PM to give a special performance at Boston’s Brighton Music Hall.

STREAM: Tegan and Sara – “Shock To Your System”

Indie-pop Canadian sisters, Tegan and Sara released a brand new song entitled “Shock To Your System” off of their forthcoming Warner Bros release, Heartthrob.

In support of the new album, the duo will be heading out on tour later this month starting in Richmond, Virginia on January 25. The tour will make its way up into Canada and through the Midwest to Tulsa, Oklahoma on March 11. Tickets can be purchased through Tegan and Sara’s Facebook.
