TV On The Radio Announce ‘Seeds’

One of the most prominent indie bands of the 2000s is back. In a relatively unexpected move, TV On the Radio has announced Seeds, their first new full-length since 2011, when they released Nine Types of Light. This just became my most anticipated release for the remainder of the year.

The band uploaded a teaser trailer to YouTube, and it’s literally that. The short 26-second video shows a very colorful, funnel-shaped foam creation and features what sounds like the ending of a song. Regardless, it’s exciting.

No date has been announced, but the rumor is that it’s set for …

Slipknot Keep It Creepy (And Sort Of Pointless) With Latest Album Teaser

I’m starting to believe that if you have seen one promotional video for the new Slipknot album you have more or less seen them all. It’s (k)not that I am (k)not excited for the new album, it’s just that I saw The Ring pull the same creepy motion effect a decade ago and as far as I can tell none of the nonsensical horror themed visuals we have seen thus far are attempting to tell any kind of story.

TL;DR: I don’t really ‘get it.’

All that said, a fourth teaser for the new album from Slipknot quietly found its …

Check Out The First Trailer For ‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’

The end is near. Before we get there, however, there is one last battle we must fight.

Warner Bros. has released the first official trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. The film, which will serve as the conclusion to Peter Jackson’s Hobbit series, will pick up seconds after events at the end of The Desolation of Smaug as the dragon begins to destroy the sleeping village nearby. The footage revealed today shows plenty of war and carnage, as well as a quick glance at what has become a massive ensemble cast. You can view the …

’50 Shades Of Grey’ Trailer: Needs More Bondage

The first trailer for the upcoming 50 Shades Of Grey adaptation has found its way online ahead of the film’s February 2015 release.

Keeping the majority of the story’s exploration into S&M at bay, the first true look at 50 Shades Of Gray attempts to build tension out of thin air. You see the leads meet, and you even learn a little bit about their relationship, but all the quote/unquote ‘good stuff’ is kept in the background. That is, until the clip’s final moments. You can view the film’s first trailer below:…

‘Bang Bang’ Trailer: This ‘Knight and Day’ Bollywood Remake Looks Incredible

We don’t talk about Bollywood films as much as we probably should, but today I saw a trailer I could not resist posting here on UTG.

There was a film a few years back starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz called Knight And Day. In the film, which critics and audiences did not care for, a girl (Diaz) gets mixed up with a spy (Cruise) who is trying to clear his name. Chaos and romance soon ensue, as you can probably guess, but for whatever reason the film did not perform well when it was released.

Fast forward to …

First ’50 Shades Of Grey’ Movie Teaser Arrives Via Beyonce

Money talks in America, and if you have enough cash to spare you can land an endorsement deal from just about any celebrity walking the Earth, including – as I learned this morning – Beyonce.

Queen Bey took to her Instagram over the weekend to share the world’s first true look at the upcoming cinematic adaptation of 50 Shades Of Grey. The film’s first trailer is expected to be released this upcoming week, but first the producers of the film decided to have Beyonce share a brief teaser over social media. Why? Because she’s Beyonce, of course, and her …

‘God Help The Girl’ Teaser: Prepare To Fall In Love With Emily Browning

Belle & Sebastian mastermind Stuart Murdoch recently wrote, directed, and scored a movie-musical version of God Help The Girl, the solo project he released in 2009, and that movie is being released in the coming months. Today, the film’s first teaser found its way online, and if the footage revealed makes one thing clear it’s that everyone will soon have a crush on the lovely Emily Browning.

God Help The Girl is a movie-musical about a girl disastrous girl with big dreams of a life in music. Eve, the aforementioned walking mess, travels to Glasgow one summer and meets …

Slipknot Release Cryptic Video Teaser

Slipknot have never been the kind of band to do things the easy way, and even though rumors have been circling for months that a new album is on the way the metal icons from Iowa are not making it easy for fans to know just what it is they have planned for the future.

On Tuesday, a cryptic video began appearing online through Slipknot’s various social media accounts. The clip featured a compilation of haunting imagery along with the kind of horror movie sound effects that have become commonplace on the band’s albums. There was no text or audible …

’20,000 Days On Earth’ Trailer: Nick Cave Tells The Whole Truth, Or Something Like The Truth

After months of awards and praise on the festival circuit, the documentary inspired by Nick Cave finally began screening in select theaters earlier this summer. Yesterday, the first trailer found its way online.

20,000 Days On Earth is not a typical rock and roll documentary. Instead of charting the life or career of Cave, the film chooses to focus on one semi-fictional day in the life of a musician who has spent his life traveling the world. Directors Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard have devised a number of improvisational situations for Cave. Specifically, “writing in his office, having lunch with …

Sleepwave Are Teasing News For Tomorrow

A couple days ago Sleepwave posted an image that said “broken” and had the date 7.14.14 on it. At the time I assumed this was the title for a new single, but earlier today they uploaded a similar image with “compass” on it as well as the same date. So, they are either making an album announcement, or they are dropping two singles at once. Either are very possible, which is incredibly exciting. It has been far too long since they unleashed their debut single.

You can check out both of the pictures the band posted by taking a look …

A Storm Is Brewing In The Latest ‘Mockingjay’ Teaser

A few weeks back, the first teaser for the final installment of The Hunger Games franchise found its way online. Featuring a special public service announcement from President Snow (Donald Sutherland) of the fictional world Panem, the minute-long clip sent the internet into a frenzy, and as expected, left fans across the nation eager for follow-up address.

Earlier this morning, dystopian die-hards had their dreams realized in the form of a second teaser trailer, which again finds the dubious ruler promoting unity, prosperity and sacrifice across the thirteen districts. But, as this brief offering indicates, all is not what it …

‘Hunger Games’ President Snow Has A Special Message For The People Of Panem

The promotional run towards the November release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 is in full effect this morning as a brand new viral teaser clip has begun to make its way across the net.

Released earlier today, a brand new message from President Snow (Donald Sutherland) to the people of Panem has been posted online. The clip finds Snow seated in a white throne in an all white room, speaking to viewers about the elements of life in Panem that makes their home so wonderful. “Ours is an elegant system conceived to nourish and protect,” he …
