MOVIE REVIEW: ‘The Imitation Game’ Is Both Thrilling & Heartbreaking

Film: The Imitation Game
Starring: Benedict Cumberbatch
Directed by: Morten Tyldum

Though it feels created almost entirely for the purpose of generating awards season buzz for its lead actor, The Imitation Game is well-crafted World War II tale that is made a tad foolish thanks to bad CGI.

The story of Alan Turing is one that has long been needing a big screen adaptation, but it wasn’t until the last decade that his story found any real sense of closure. The reasoning for that is something I won’t give away in this review, but suffice to say there is a …

‘The Walk’ Trailer: Zemeckis And JGL Reenact ‘Man On Wire’

The funny thing about documentaries is that even the best, as well as those with the biggest marketing budgets, are usually only seen by a tiny fraction of the overall movie going audience. Some people, and by ‘some’ I should probably say ‘a lot,’ seem to have little to no interest in learning while attending the cinema. They’d rather escape reality than dive deeper into it, and honestly, I can’t blame them.

Thankfully, for every great documentary that goes unwatched by the masses there is a fictionalized version of the same story brought to life for everyone to enjoy. The …

Torche Announce New Album, European Tour and U.S. Dates With Municipal Waste

Sludge-Pop monsters Torche have revealed the title and release date for their new album, along with a slew of stateside and European tour dates. The band has titled their fourth LP Restarter, which I suppose is appropriate given it’s their first release for Relapse Records. It hits stores on February 24, while pre-orders should be available shortly.

On top of the band’s previously announced tour supporting Clutch, Torche also announced a January run of dates with Municipal Waste and a lengthy European tour for May. Click through for all of the dates and a short album teaser featuring 30 …

Latest ‘Imitation Game’ Trailer Revs Up Oscar Buzz

The hype behind The Imitation Game has been deafening for what feels like months at this point, and somehow we are still two weeks away from the film’s North American debut. We do have a new trailer however, and it serves to only further our excitement for Morten Tyldum’s latest work.

Starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Alan Turning, a man known more for his personal life than the astounding contributions he made to science during World War II, The Imitation Game follows one man’s attempt to bring down the Nazi party at a time when Hitler’s movement appeared unstoppable. The latest …

First ‘Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2′ Trailer Heads To Vegas

Before I begin I want people reading this at home to know that we caused this film to exist. If you bought a ticket for Paul Blart: Mall Cop, rented the DVD, or even tweeted about how funny you thought Kevin James was in the original, you caused this sequel to become a reality. You only have yourselves to blame.

The first trailer for Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 has been released, and like every other franchise unsure of what to do with its second chapter the film takes place in gorgeous and horribly overused Las Vegas. Blart is …

Anne Hathaway Falls For A Musician In First ‘Song One’ Trailer

If there are two things people love to see Anne Hathaway do onscreen, it’s fall in love and ball her eyes out. Song One, which hits VOD in early 2015, offers both with a bit of a musical twist.

Don’t worry, this post isn’t about a music. Song One finds Hathaway portraying an archaeologist who is called home from Morocco to visit her hospitalized brother following an accident. When she arrives, she meets and begins to fall for a musician that is a favorite of her ailing brother. It seem for a moment as if fate had another reason …

Extended ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Trailer Released

“I’m going to show you something beautiful…”

It has been three weeks since we were gifted with the viewing of the first Avengers: Age Of Ultron trailer, and I am still swooning over it. But, it has been a long three weeks, though we may rest at ease for a new version of the trailer has been released that features some exciting new footage.

Still, to this day to finally see Ultron in his full, collected form as he shall appear in the film only solidifies my anticipation for his screen debut, and if James Spader’s voice work shown …

‘Batman v Superman’ Teaser To Run In Front Of ‘The Hobbit’

They might not admit it to the public, but it’s pretty clear to anyone paying attention that DC Comics is desperately trying to catch up to, if not top, Marvel‘s cinematic universe. Every time one company announces something big, the other one follows, and every time it’s the fans who win.

We have just under two years to wait until Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice hits theaters, but according to a new story on Forbes we might get a glimpse of the superhero epic as soon as December 2014. Writer Mark Hughes claims to have heard from a …

‘American Sniper’ Teaser Is Everything You Want In A Great Movie Preview

Strap in, film fans. This one is a doozy.

Most movie fans also love trailers, and those who don’t often complain that many previews for coming attractions spoil major reveals that would be better left for those experiencing the film in full. I don’t disagree with that argument, but I do believe it’s entirely possible to be sold on a movie without having any real idea what is going on. Gone Girl‘s trailers are a perfect example of this, as is the recent promo for Inherent Vice. Now, thanks to filmmaker Clint Eastwood, we can add American Sniper

‘Black Sea’ Trailer: Jude Law Is Searching For Hitler’s Gold

Submarine based thrillers have been largely hit and miss in recent years. It takes a certain skill to make men stuck in a tiny metal tube as thrilling as it sounds on paper, and all too often the men who serve as director on these projects do not have the talent to pull it off. Kevin Macdonald may be the exception however, and his latest underwater adventure actually looks quite compelling.

Jude Law needs a hit, and in Black Sea he also needs money. After years spent making a living at sea, sacrificing everything he had in the process, his …
