Riot Fest Lineup Announced, Fall Out Boy And Blink 182 To Headline

You know when a “scene” festival lineup is pretty damn strong? When you have Taking Back Sunday, Say Anything, and Saves the Day below the halfway mark of your poster and Brand New on the third line.

As announced by our fellow AbsoluteVoices website PropertyOfZack, this year’s Riot Fest will feature (and take a big breath and sit down before reading all of this) Blink 182, Fall out Boy, The Violent Femmes, Motorhead, Sublime With Rome, Rancid, AFI, Blondie, Public Enemy, Brand New, Flag, Taking Back Sunday, Rocket From The Crypt, Bad Religion, Atmosphere, The Dismemberment Plan, Dinosaur Jr, …

Taking Back Sunday To Start Writing Again In “Secret Mountain House”

Hey, seclusion worked for Bon Iver.

Absolute Punk reports that Taking Back Sunday are riding off to an undisclosed location to start writing some new material.

The band tweeted yesterday that they were en route to a “secret mountain house” to work on their music.

Like, that could mean anything from a desolate (possibly haunted) wooded shack to a low profile ski chalet. Based off the Instagram program in the tweet, it appears that the band is near, …

Taking Back Sunday To Start Writing New Record

Taking Back Sunday had quite a year, spending a large portion of 2012 celebrating the ten-year anniversary of their breakthrough record, Tell All Your Friends. However, it seems all the nostalgia has passed and the band is ready to move on.

In an interview with The Long Island Press, Taking Back Sunday drummer Mark O’Connell said, “[TBS] are going to start writing a new record in February. We are actually renting a farm in West Virginia, so it is just us five together, with no interruptions. We are all pretty excited about it.

The interview features …

WATCH: Taking Back Sunday Give Guitarist Eddie Reyes A Male Stripper For His Birthday (ON STAGE)

Taking Back Sunday have been criss-crossing the United States with a slew of their closest friends on the tenth anniversary tour celebration of their debut album, Tell All Your Friends. A few of us at UTG have gone to various dates, and it could very well be our favorite tour of 2012. I would suggest all of you rush out to attend the date closest to you, but the run is ending this weekend, so unless you’re in New York you’re probably out of luck.

Earlier this week, TBS brought their roadshow to Rhode Island on the night of …

Taking Back Sunday To Release Two Live Albums From TAYF Tour

New York rockers Taking Back Sunday have been killing their Tell All Your Friends Tenth Anniversary Tour. They’ve recently let on that there are more plans involving TAYF10 to come: two live albums, one acoustic and one regular. The tour isn’t even over yet, though; at least two UTG staffers are going to Taking Back Sunday shows in the coming week.

The self-released live albums will also be a test to see whether they want to sign with a new label or be a DIY band. Credit goes to sister site PropertyOfZack for digging this one up.

WATCH: Taking Back Sunday Discuss “Rivalry” With Brand New

The so-called “feud” between Taking Back Sunday and Brand New is as old as the misuse of emo. Since the days following the release of Tell All Your Friends people have used message boards and venue parking lots to debate the cause of the battle that reportedly inspired a slew of fan favorites from each artist, and last night in Philadelphia Taking Back Sunday finally broke their silence. I’ll let the guys from New Jersey tell their own story instead of boring you with my interpretation, so just click through the link below and enjoy.

Taking Back Sunday are currently …

WATCH: Man Overboard Perform “210B” and “Atlas” Acoustic

New Jersey’s Man Overboard released acoustic performances of two songs, “210B” and “Atlas”, on PureVolume earlier today. The band has also teamed up with PureVolume to offer a free, signed vinyl copy of the band’s self-titled 2012 LP. All fans have to do to enter is retweet this tweet on Twitter.

Needless to say, Man Overboard is still actively supporting their 2012 self-titled album, which was released earlier this summer. Having just finished up a short run with Taking Back Sunday, the band is already set to head out on tour throughout the U.S. and U.K. this November and …

Hot Water Music, La Dispute, and The Menzingers Announce 2013 Tour

Hot Water Music, La Dispute, and The Menzingers are some of the hardest working bands in the business today. The Menzingers in particular keep finding themselves on tour after tour; they did a tour by themselves then toured with Taking Back Sunday. I’m sure they’re looking forward to March when they’re slated to get a break. The three bands have announced they will tour the United States this winter starting in January.

It’s also Hot Water Music’s first headlining tour in eight years, so fans… may want to check out the tour dates. You never know when …

WATCH: Taking Back Sunday (featuring Michelle Nolan) – “Bike Scene”

Taking Back Sunday has been killing it on their Tell All Your Friends Tenth Anniversary Tour with Bayside. At the Troubadour on October 23, they were joined by guitarist John Nolan’s sister, Michelle Nolan, for a semi-acoustic performance of “Bike Scene.” Michelle does backing vocals originally on the record, so fans there were in for a treat.

The band is still on tour, with dates listed here. You can watch the video here on UTG by clicking “Read more”.

UTG PHOTOS: Tell All Your Friends 10th Anniversary Tour (10/4/12)

After going on a mini-summer hiatus following Vans Warped Tour, Under The Gun’s Head of Photography, Kellie Gannon, is back with brand new photos from the Taking Back Sunday “Tell All Your Friends” 10th Anniversary Tour in Cleveland!

As my first show back with Under The Gun since July’s Warped Tour in Cleveland, it seemed only appropriate that I should shoot a very special show.  Taking Back Sunday’s “Tell All Your Friends” 10th Anniversary Tour with Bayside was an absolutely perfect start to the fall roster of shows to come through town.  Not only did this tour …

Bayside Joins Instagram, Posts Something That Makes That Newsworthy

Yea, Instagram is cool. Once you filter out all of the food porn, clouds, half-nude self-shots, and the filters themselves, there are some interesting things to be found.

Bands have been slowly making their way onto the newish photo network to reach their trend-hopping friends, one of those being Bayside. They joined up today. Their first photo being a collage of 5 retro album art covers and their logo. This pretty much confirms the guess I made a few days ago. It’s a cover EP, no?

The boys entered the studio just yesterday to record something special for their …

Bayside Enter Studio, Announcement Coming Tuesday

On Facebook and on Twitter, Bayside have said they were entering the studio. The post on Facebook stated “We’re heading up to Connecticut to spend the week in the studio. Big announcement coming on Tuesday. Any guesses?

They are set to start touring across the US with Taking Back Sunday on September 30, who recently entered the studio themselves. UTG’s guess is that both bands will announce an album release for sometime in 2013. What is your guess?
