System Of A Down have not released a new album since 2005. In the time that has passed since that time UTG was born, over a dozen writers for the site graduated college, and the face of mainstream rock has completely changed at least three times over. Still, even with all that has happened, fans of SOAD continue to ask the band for new material and until now they have received almost nothing in the form of a response.

Born Of Osiris Cover “Science” by System Of A Down

We’ve seen countless lyric videos in the past year or so but this may be the first for a cover by a band. Born Of Osiris have released their take of System Of A Down’s “Science” from their iconic 2001 release, Toxicity. The band have taken a SOAD classic and added that beloved BOO twist, and the outcome is savory.

Born of Osiris’ vocalist Ronnie Canizaro posted the video to his Facebook stating, “Thought it would be fun to cover this song! enjoy!!”

System Of A Down Have No Plans For New Album Right Now

System of a Down‘s frontman Serj Tankian has announced that the band does not have any plans on releasing a new album right now.

Serj Tankian Releases Album Details For ‘Harakiri’

System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian has unveiled details for the release of his upcoming album, Harakiri, through Reprise Records/Serjical Strike. This album is hitting stores on July 10!

The albums’ first single “Figure It Out” will be available for purchase on May 1 as well as pre-orders. Pre-orders for Harakiri will be launched on here. This is what we know so far and we are already excited about it.

System Of A Down have announced a string of late Summer US tour dates with Deftones.

The tour, which was announced earlier today (and could potentially have more dates), finds the two mega acts hitting the road in early August. So far, only a handful of dates have been revealed. You can view the current itinerary below:

System Of A Down were recently announced as a headliner for Australia’s 2012 Soundwave Festival and today announced additional shows in the area.

Complimenting their set at Soundwave, System Of A Down have announced to additional Australian headlining shows for late February. The dates are as follows:

System Of A Down Drummers Swears Another Album Is “Going To Happen”

Not sure if anyone really cares at this point, but apparently System Of A Down are still teasing fans with the promise of perhaps maybe possibly one day thinking about entering the studio to record another album.
