Watch Little Dragon’s New “Underbart” Music Video

Swedish synth rock act Little Dragon dropped a brand new album this year titled Nabuma Rubberband. Now, to celebrate the release, they have shared a music video for album cut “Underbart” that keeps things moving along.

The video soundtracks their fourth single seamlessly. Watch as the crew roam about in exhaustive dance moves, flaunting a decent selection of vibrant wigs in the process in alleyways and bus seats. The downtempo dance number comes to life in the way you could imagine. Check it out below:

On August 19, Swedish pop duo JJ will release their third album, V, via Secretly Canadian. We’ve heard several tracks off the record so far, but starting today the album is streaming in full at NPR.

The 12-track release is a follow-up to 2010’s jj n° 3 and includes the mesmerizing singles “All White Everything” and “Dean & Me.” Vocalist Elin Katlander says JJ have made this music “quite selfishly” in that it appeals to themselves versus a preconceived audience. In his own statement, multi-instrumentalist Joakim Benon added that they have been working on …

Opeth Pale Communion

Opeth Announce New Album, Stream “Cusp of Eternity”

On August 26, Swedish metal band Opeth will drop a new studio album titled Pale Communion via Roadrunner Records. The eight-track release is their eleventh studio album. With frontman Mikael Åkerfeldt producing and Porcupine Tree guitarist Steven Wilson mixing, it should see the band’s sound expanding into more psych and prog influences as their last release, 2011’s Heritage, did. As the press release notes, it will have very little “growls or death metal vocals.”

“I wanted to do something more melodic with this album. There’s stronger vocal melodies and more melodies overall,” Åkerfeldt said of the release. “I was pretty …

Stream JJ’s New Song “All White Everything”

Swedish duo JJ announced two weeks ago that they would be dropping a new album, Vthis summer. Turns out the album, their follow-up to jj n° 4,  drops August 19 via Secretly Canadian and today we get to hear the first single in full, “All White Everything.”

The song sees Joakim Benon and Elin Kastlander bring a haunting, quiet whisper to new heights with synth pop and an orchestral chant. Somehow the two make it work — although looking at their past brilliant pieces, we’re not surprised.

Check out the song and V tracklist below:

Swedish duo JJ (no longer lowercase jj) will be returning with their slightly soft electronic music this summer.

After three years since their last LP and two years since their most recent release, jj n° 4, the two will drop the new album, titled V, in August via Secretly Canadian. They announced the news with a beautiful, glitter-covered, Willy Wonka-esque video trailer along with the following message:

At last we meet again
and I’m like baby, what you doing here?
You stay on my mind.
We been up all winters for someone like you and we know that

SINGLE REVIEW: Icona Pop – “All Night”

Artist: Icona Pop
Single: “All Night”
Album: This Is…
Genre: Pop

Following hot on the heels of their smash hit “I Love It,” Icona Pop are hoping to make their flash in the pan success more of a lasting affair with their latest single, “All Night.”

Let’s get one thing straight right off the top: Pop music may not be the deepest form of expression in the arts, but that does not mean writing a catchy song is in any way a simple feat.

Refused Announce Last Gig Ever.

When punk band Refused first got back together, no one could have expected the reunion would last. Other than the fact that after their demise they made a documentary on the turmoil that made them break up with the appropriate name of Refused Are Fucking Dead, the band’s whole belief was strongly anti-capitalism – so the whole idea of getting back for money didn’t seem to apply the way it does for the rest of reunited groups (At The Drive In, I’m looking at you).

We’ve known for sometime that this year would be it, to the …

The duo of Statik Selektah & Termanology, referred to as 1982, have teamed up with Reks for their new music video “Play Your Role.” This video comes less than a week after Statik and Terminology released the last visuals for “Never A Dull Moment” featuring Action Bronson and Bun B.
