James Shotwell There have been a number of films in recent years telling the tale of an individual trapped in unfortunate circumstances with only their thoughts to keep them company. Of those, only a few have really been worth remembering longer than the time it took to walk from the cineplex to your vehicle. Director William Dickerson wants to add another must-see film to this subgenre, and later this year he’ll attempt to do just that with Detour.
So how do you take a genre that has been beaten into the ground (no pun intended) quite a bit in recent years? …
