Adam Dutkiewicz Discusses Side Project With Black Dahlia Murder And Cannibal Corpse Members

Blabbermouth has reported that Decibel Magazine recently published an interview with Killswitch Engage guitarist and famed metal producer, Adam Dutkiewicz. In the interview, Dutkiewicz talks about one of his latest projects: a supergroup that consists of himself on guitars, George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher of Cannibal Corpse on vocals, and Shannon Lucas of The Black Dahlia Murder on drums.

If you’re as excited as we are about this, read this snippet from the interview, and follow the jump for more.

ScHoolboy Q Hints At Potential Rap Supergroup Including Ab-Soul, A$AP Rocky, and Danny Brown

XXL recently had an interview with LA-based rapper ScHoolboy Q about his upcoming full length, Oxymoron, when he dropped a major bomb – he plans on including some of Oxymoron‘s featured artists in a new supergroup.

Don’t take our word for it though, here’s a snippet of what ScHoolboy Q had to say.

“…As of right now, I don’t now. After this album, shit, I want to work with both the homies. I want to do a project with Soul and I want to do one with Rocky. Maybe we can even put our own little group together

WATCH: Dave Grohl’s Sound City Players – “Hanging Tree”

Dave Grohl does work. Best known as the guitarist and singer for the Foo Fighters, the drummer for Nirvana, or the drummer for Queens of the Stone Age, in the video you are about to see, he is the vocalist and bassist for his Sound City Players project. The song, which casual fans will accuse of being a Queens of the Stone Age cover, is actually a song written by Alain Johannes and performed by Josh and his Hommes (…get it?) in Desert Sessions from Volume 7. (Hardcore fans will also know that “You May Think …

Danny Carey cEvin Key John Frusciante

Danny Carey (Tool), cEvin Key (Skinny Puppy) And John Frusciante (ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers) Working On Side Project?

UPDATE: After seeing our post, cEvin posted on his personal Facebook page saying “Danny and I have stuff going, but we’ll have to hope that John drops by one day !  <3 nice thought, as it would be cool.”

We’ve been waiting on a new Tool album for far too long – quite literally, their last album came out seven years ago, with reports saying the album has been in works since 2009. Frontman Maynard James Keenan started a winery and filmed a documentary since 2006′s 10,000 Days came out. If you found yourself asking what drummer Danny Carey was …

Dave Grohl’s Sound City Players Debut New Song, Add California Show Date

Dave Grohl assembled his odd supergroup for a wicked soundtrack to his upcoming documentary, Sound City, then added some performance dates at the Sundance Film Festival. They’ve now added a show at the Hollywood Palladium, with tickets going on sale today. Somewhere along the way, one of the songs that isn’t Paul McCartney and the Nirvana boys leaked online; in response, the Sound City page posted the high quality version.

Corey Taylor, vocalist for Slipknot and Stone Sour,  Rick Nielsen, guitarist for Cheap Trick, and Scott Reeder, former bassist for Kyuss, join Dave Grohl on the song …

Dave Grohl’s Sound City Players Members Announced

Dave Grohl has let the cat out of the bag on his one-off supergroup, and the lineup is jam packed with stars. It unsurprisingly includes, according to NME, members of the Foo Fighters (Dave himself, drummer Taylor Hawkins, guitarist Chris Shiflett, and bassist and Sunny Day Real Estate member Nate Mendel), Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk, Cheap Trick’s Rick Nielsen, CCR frontman John Fogerty, Stevie Nicks, and former Queens of the Stone Age guitarist Alan Johannes, among others. Judging by how there are multiple singers, multiple drummers, and multiple bassists, I would guess that the lineup will …

Dave Grohl Forms Another Supergroup For A One Time Live Performance

Dave Grohl was the drummer for Nirvana, then the live drummer and guitarist for Mike Watt, then formed the Foo Fighters. After he made it with the Foo, he did Probot, briefly joined Queens of the Stone Age, and eventually formed Them Crooked Vultures. We can add another band to his last, although this one looks to be intentionally short lived: The Sound City Players.

The band will play at this year’s Sundance Film Festival on January 18. Sundance is where Grohl’s documentary, Sound City, is premiering. They’ll be playing tunes from the soundtrack; thus …

United Nations UN Daryl Geoff

United Nations (Glassjaw, ex-Thursday) Now Features Members Of Pianos Become The Teeth

United Nations is a side project that, to the public’s knowledge, mainly consists of Daryl Palumbo (primarily known as Glassjaw‘s front man) and Geoff Rickly (the former vocalist for Thursday). Recently, they sent a so-called “transmission” to Alternative Press to announce a show and the addition of two unspecified members of Pianos Become The Teeth.

It reads: “In January of 2009 United Nations played their first show at the Black Cat in Washington, D.C. on inauguration day to usher in a new era of change. Now four years later the band are returning to the nation’s

Members Of The Mars Volta, Mastodon, Converge, And More Form Supergroup

I’ve said a thousand times that it constantly shocks me how seemingly every musician knows every other musician on the scene. I think that’s why projects and supergroups seem to be more and more common; this one must be between friends and it has a wide array of genres covered by everyone’s original band. The lineup? Max Cavalera (vocalist/guitarist from Soulfly and Sepultra), Troy Sanders (bassist/vocalist for Mastodon), Greg Puciato (vocalist for Dillinger Escape Plan), Nate Newton (bassist for Converge), and Dave Elitich (drummer from The Mars Volta).

That seems to be a whole lot …

Foo Fighters

Foo Fighters/ The Darkness Supergroup?

This is the latest bit of new from NME.

It has been reported that Justin Hawkins (The Darkness) and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins are setting up to form a supergroup. Apparently, Justin’s ex. fiance/ former manager of The Darkness Sue Whitehouse will be filling the vocal position. Interesting choice.

These are the only bits of information we have obtained, as of now, but UTG will be sure to bring you more on this story as it develops.
