Baroness Announce Summer Tour With Royal Thunder

Georgia’s own Baroness announced today that they will be traveling on tour, in August, with Royal Thunder.

The group was involved in a very terrible bus accident at the beginning of the year and are all thankfully alive and well. After much decision-making, Allen Blickle and Matt Maggioni announced their departure from the group in March and recruited bassist Nick Jost and drummer Sebastian Thomson to fill in on the tour.

Please head through the link provided to view the entire tour scheduling for Baroness and Royal Thunder.

Japandroids Announce Summer Tour Dates With The Gaslight Anthem, Cloud Nothings, And A Place To Bury Strangers

Garage rock duo Japandroids just announced a string of dates that’ll take them from the vernal equinox to through the June solstice. For those who need to bone up on your astronomical terminology, it means the group will be jangling, banging, and wailing out their particular brand of rock all this spring and for a bit of this summer.

They’re not going it along either. Depending on the date, they’ll be joined by one of the following three like-minded acts: Cloud Nothings, The Gaslight Anthem, and A Place To Bury Strangers. Sounds like a blast.

MOVIE TRAILER: Monsters University

Please welcome the new trailer for Pixar’s Monsters University, the sequel to Pixar classic Monsters, Inc. While we’ve been shown little short teasers, we finally are given a full trailer that tells a lot more of what the plot of this story will be. I was initially skeptical, but after watching the trailer I’m most certainly sold on returning to this amazing Pixar universe again.

Monsters University tells the story of the franchise’s heroes Mike and Sully, and how they met in college. The two are both studying to be scarers, and the film shows the rivalry that these …

If you like pop-punk music and don’t know who Vinnie Caruana is, you’re probably really young, and that’s not really your fault. For those who don’t know, Vinnie Caruana has been in the pop-punk scene for a while now, first becoming famous for fronting the iconic band The Movielife. Now as the singer of I Am the Avalanche, Vinnie is slowly but surely making his way back into the ears of kids all over the punk scene. However today, I’m not reviewing either …

Weezer 2012

Weezer Summer Camp In The Works

According to NME, it looks as if the guys in Weezer are in talks of creating their own US Summer Camp. How cool would that be to attend? Pretty damn cool, I would say.

After speaking to Australia’s Herald Sun, Weezer’s frontman Rivers Cuomo stated that he and his bandmates were discussing following up their Weezer Cruise.

“We’d like to put together some sort of Weezer camp, but we’re just beginning to talk about it, so I don’t have any details yet.”

Keep it locked right here to Under The Gun for more breaking news on Weezer’s future endeavor.…

Incubus Announce Hiatus After Summer Tour

UTG fans are going to be bummed to find out that rockers Incubus will be going on another hiatus following their Summer tour. Read what frontman Brandon Boyd said in a recent interview below and be sure to leave your comments past the jump.

“We have no plans, to tell you the truth, at the moment, I have been tinkering around, potentially, with a second solo record. That’s probably the most likely scenario. But as far as Incubus right now, we’ll probably take another break.

Hopefully it won’t be as long as before, but what we’d like to do is …

REVIEW: Yellowcard – Southern Air

Artist: Yellowcard
Album: Southern Air
Genre: Pop-punk
Label: Hopeless Records

Yellowcard is one of the bands that I grew up listening to. And not just, “Oh I love that album Ocean Avenue,” or, “Yeah ‘Only One’ is so good!” No. That is not me at all. Yellowcard was one of those bands when I was younger that I completely obsessed over, poured over lyric sheets, deconstructed songs, and was the soundtrack to my childhood. They are such a part of me that people frankly don’t really understand. My friends within the hardcore scene poke fun and say things like …

UTG FEATURE WARPED

EDITORIAL: Camden, NJ Warped Tour, My Brother, and I – A Written + Photo Essay

The Vans’ Warped Tour. Say what you want about the genre changes within the tour, Kevin Lyman has created an event that has become engrained in the fabric of kids’ Summers. I haven’t been going to Warped Tour for long, I’ll admit. And to be honest, Warped Tour has always been one of those tours that I go to, but I don’t necessarily enjoy as much as the next kid. There is something I frankly don’t like about the festival atmosphere. So this year, I decided to do Warped Tour a little differently. In addition to covering the tour through
