Miss Fortune Dropped From Sumerian Records Due To Frontman’s Arrest

When you are a fan of an artist or musician, you’d like to think they are impervious to human flaws. Unfortunately, they are not infallible. Apparently Miss Fortune‘s frontman, Mikey Sawyer, was arrested October 24 for domestic violence.

Before the situation with their frontman was known, they let fans know they would not be making it to The Word Alive‘s ‘Get Real’ Tour. Shortly after they made that announcement though, Sumerian Records announced they had dropped Miss Fortune from their roster. This prompted another statement from the band, confirming that their frontman was in jail.…

Circa Survive Release Video For New Single, Launch Pre-orders For ‘Descensus’

It’s been less than two weeks since Circa Survive officially announced their fifth LP, Descensus, which is due out on November 24 through their new label, Sumerian Records.

Following the brief teaser found with the announcement, the band has released a visually stunning and disturbingly surreal new video for the album’s lead single, entitled “Schema,” which we heard a brief snippet of in the album’s initial trailer. Clocking in at nearly five minutes in length, our first taste of Descensus wastes no time introducing us to the aggressive nature in which the album opens, musically reminiscent of labelmates The …

Metalcore turned heavy metal outfit Asking Alexandria have released a brand new music video for “Moving On,” one of the many cuts from the group’s most recent record, From Death to Destiny. Staying in line with the track’s lyrical content, the video contains a slew of emotional live shots mixed with members of other bands holding up signs for loved ones left behind every time they hit the road.

Follow the jump to check out “Moving On,” and once you’ve done that, be sure to check out our interview with Asking Alexandria’s own Danny Worsnop here.…

The album, as you may know, was initially self-released by the band back in 2012.

STREAM: Upon A Burning Body – “I’ve Earned My Time” Feat. Telle Smith

Upon A Burning Body‘s third studio album, The World Is My Enemy Now, will be hitting stores this Tuesday, August 12 via Sumerian Records. In anticipation of the forthcoming release, the group revealed their single that features vocals by Telle Smith of The Word Alive. The song is titled “I’ve Earned My Time,” and it’s available to stream below.

Smith brings a unique style to this particular track. Though he doesn’t sound like his usual self, his voice is still unmistakable. He even has a surprisingly large role in the song.

We are quickly approaching the release date of Darkest Hour‘s upcoming self-titled album. Even though there are two weeks remaining still, the band has unleashed a decent handful of singles. Over the weekend they added to that number with the release of the song “The Misery We Make.” It’s one of my personal favorite tracks they’ve dropped so far. You can check it out for yourself below.

Upon A Burning Body Share “Bring The Rain”

The controversy surrounding Upon A Burning Body‘s recently failed attempt at promoting their new album by faking the disappearance of their vocalist has finally began to fade, and though the band is still receiving a lot of slack online they’re pushing forward with the release of a new track titled “Bring The Rain.”

It’s hard to say how Upon A Burning Body have evolved over the course of their numerous releases, but the best compliment that I can think to give them is that they seem perfectly fine delivering the same idea again and again with simple technical tweaks …

Blaqk Audio Remix Crosses †††’s “†elepa†hy”

Well this makes sense.

That’s not sarcasm, by the way. Blaqk Audio (Davey Havok and Jude Puget of AFI) have a very similar dark and dreary vibe to Crosses †††, which, as you should know by now, consists of Deftones’ Chino Moreno, Far’s Shaun Lopez, and Chuck Doom. The trio dropped their debut full-length LP earlier this year via Sumerian Records, which was more or less a compilation of all 15 tracks from their three previously released EPs, aptly titled EP †, EP ††, and EP †††, respectively.

Today, we’ve been graced with a remix, premiering …

Least Metal Moment Of The Week: Betraying The Martyrs Cover “Let It Go”

The cover no one ever asked for has been brought to life and delivered to the internet by one of Sumerian Records’ bands with a new album to sell.

Betraying The Martyrs have spent plenty of time on the front page of UTG over the last couple of years, but it seems the guys are starting to feel the pressure regarding sales for their upcoming album because earlier today they surprised fans everywhere by releasing a cover (and music video) for the Frozen hit “Let It Go.” Yes, the same song your Disney-obsessed younger sibling has been singing for months …
