Transit Announce ‘Joyride,’ Reveal October Tour With Such Gold And Driver Friendly

Boston rock outfit Transit have announced plans to release their newest full-length, Joyride, on October 21 through Rise Records. No single was released alongside the announcement, but the band did reveal plans for a short headlining tour, as well as a new song snippet.

Starting with the tour, Transit will be headlining a two-week run with support from New York punk rockers Such Gold and Texas heartthrobs Driver Friendly. Such Gold Stream New Song From Four-Way Split

Last week, Such Gold announced that they would be contributing a new track to a four-way split EP on Broken Rim Records. The song is called “Framed,” and you can hear it right now over at Alternative Press.

“Framed” is the first song the band wrote following the departure of guitarist Skylar Sarkis in 2013. Despite the lineup change, the Rochester, New York, band sound as powerful as ever here. You can preorder the split, which also includes new songs from Ivy League, Turnover, and Maker, right here.

Broken Rim Records has been delivering solid pop punk releases from the likes of Placeholder, I Call Fives and more since 2010, but their upcoming four-way split EP has the potential to be their best output yet. The Boston-based label recruited four of the hottest names in the cross section of pop punk, hardcore, and emo for the split, which will be available on March 4.

New York’s criminally underrated Such Gold are currently streaming an excellent new track, titled “Choosing Cages,” exclusively with our buds over at AbsolutePunk.

Continuing with their brand of melodic hardcore and aggressive punk stylings, the new track assures us that Such Gold still have a lot to offer post-Misadventures. “Choosing Cages” comes off an upcoming split with Pennsylvania post-hardcore act Placeholder that will be part of Secret Audio Club’s exciting Wax Packs project which is a “collectable 7″ series packaged like baseball cards.”

Such Gold guitarist / vocalist Skylar Sarkis has quit the band unexpectedly. Ben Kotin will now be taking over guitar / vocal duties and they are moving on as a four-piece.
