Fans have been eager to get any info on the new Star Wars film, set to hit theaters Dec. 18, 2015. While there’s been plenty of discussion and rumors about the details of the film, not much has been confirmed.

Today, Lucasfilm and Disney have announced that filming for Episode VII, directed by J.J. Abrams, will begin this May at Pinewood Studios in London.

They also gave a little taste of what to expect from the new film, stating:

It has also been confirmed that Star Wars: Episode VII is set about 30 years after the events of Star Wars:

Is Adam Driver The New ‘Star Wars’ Villain?

First he was rumored to be Nightwing in the upcoming film Batman vs. Superman, but now it is being announced that Girls actor, Adam Driver, is very close to signing on for the villain role in the next Star Wars films.

Said to be an iconic character much like Darth Vadar, Driver will continue the dark side of the force from where Return of the Jedi left off. With many other casting rumors floating around the internet, this is the closest to an official confirmation we have gotten since the film’s early conception. With production beginning in London this …

Zac Efron Confirms ‘Star Wars’ Meeting

Ever since it was announced Star Wars was going to be back on the big screen, there has been just as much excitement as there has been fear. What would Disney do with the galaxy far, far away? Could there be hope with J.J. Abrams at the helm? Now people are leaning more towards fear since Zac Efron confirmed he did indeed chat with the producers of the film.

Efron simply said, “Yeah, I just went and met with them. So I don’t know. It would be cool. I love [the Star Wars movies], I love them, but… who knows?” …

J.J. Abrams Confirms ‘Star Wars’ Script Completion, Addresses Rumors

Did you guys know there is a new Star Wars movie on the horizon? Crazy, right? You would think people would be excited that they would talk about it every single day or something.

TheWrap is the source of the latest Star Wars: Episode VII tidbit, and it may be the juiciest to date. J.J. Abrams has confirmed that the upcoming seventh installment in the multi-billion dollar franchise is completed. “We’re working really hard and we’ve got our script and we’re in deep prep, Abrams said. “Full steam ahead.”

Later in the same interview Abrams was asked about his thoughts …

R2-D2 Confirmed For New ‘Star Wars’ Film, Model Built By Fans

The long loved astro-droid from previous Star Wars incarnations will make a return in the new film, Episode VII. I mean, let’s be honest, it wouldn’t really be a Star Wars film if it didn’t have R2-D2.

While this was probably assumed by most already, it is nice to have some actual confirmation of something related to the film. Aside from the actuality of the confirmation, what is more interesting, is that the model being used in the film was built by two fans. LucasFilm president, Kathleen Kennedy, had eyed the fans’ model back at Celebration Europe over …

‘Star Wars’ Blooper Reel Surfaces After 36 Years

Earlier today, a new Star Wars blooper reel surfaced online, effectively sending the interwebs into a frenzy. You can view the video, which up until this year had been “lost” for over three decades, after the jump.

Though today marks the first time this bonus feature was made public (thanks to a Reddit user named forceduse), it actually made its debut this past July at Comic-Con, after being discovered by author J.W. Rinzler during the production of his “Making of” series. Before then, the video had not been seen by anyone for 36 years.…

J.J. Abrams And Lawrence Kasdan To Write New ‘Star Wars’ Script

It seems that writing duties have been passed from Michael Arndt to Episode VII director J.J. Abrams, and Star Wars veteran Lawrence Kasdan, for the newest episode in the series’ canon. Originally given to Arndt back in November, Abrams and Kasdan are stepping in to re-write, change, and presumably do many different things than Arndt has already done. In what is an attempt at a positive spin on the story via LucasArts, essentially what is happening is that someone, somewhere, wasn’t too happy with the way the script was going, and decided to bring in newer wrists to pen …

‘Star Wars’ Casting Rumor Puts Saoirse Ronan At The Reading Table

Behold! The internet yields yet another Star Wars rumor. Irish actress Saoirse Ronan has supposedly read for a role in the upcoming, long awaited, but possibly not hoped for, Star Wars sequels. With a massive fog of J.J. Abrams related rumors to trudge through, who knows which side of the force these whispers lie. But, Saorise Ronan would be a pretty badass addition to a growing, rumored roster.

With her first round of attention garnered from her role in the 2007 film Atonement, Ronan has gone on to star in The Lovely Bones, Hanna, and is set …

AWESOME: Protest the Hero Release Lyric Video for “Clarity”

Lyric videos are generally kind of boring. There, I said it. What do most of these videos bring to the table that lyrics in the “About” section on YouTube doesn’t already do? The answer is nothing.

That being said, Canadian progressive metal band Protest the Hero released a new lyric video today on AltPress for their new song, “Clarity,” that is completely awesome. While some would probably say that this is more of a music video than a lyric video, both the scenes being played out and the lyrics running across the screen are necessary to fully appreciate what Protest …

John Williams Tentatively Set to Score ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’

From the mouth of J.J. Abrams himself, legendary composer John Williams is slated to score the latest installment in the Star Wars series. While it’s not officially locked down, J.J. Abrams has gone on record at a Star Trek: Into Darkness press conference saying,

Again, for Star Wars, it’s very early days, but I believe that, going forward, John Williams will be doing that film, because he was there long before I was.

In addition to the rest of the Star Wars films, John Williams has scored some of your favorites such as the Indiana Jones series, Lincoln, …

‘Star Wars’ Coming to a Theater Near You Every Summer Starting 2015

Disney and Lucasfilm announced today at CinemaCon that Star Wars: Episode VII will be coming out in the Summer of 2015. This was expected, but here’s the twist: after Episode VII comes out, Disney will put out a Star Wars film EVERY Summer. Yes, every single Summer. How is that possible production wise? Well let me break it down:

In the Summer of 2015, we’ll be getting an “Episode” Star Wars film that concerns the greater Star Wars universe. Then the next year in 2016 viewers will get to see a solo film based on a single character (rumor is …
