Schematic Signs to Spartan Records, To Release ‘Color (N.) Inside the Lines’

Schematic, the new project from former Mae vocalist Dave Elkins, has signed to Spartan Records.

The label will be releasing Schematic’s debut album Color (n.) Inside The Lines on December 3. It’s currently available to pre-order on Spartan Records’ web store in a variety of formats including digital, CD, and gatefold double vinyl.

There will be 750 copies of the record on vinyl: 250 in blue, 250 in red and yellow, and 250 in Half & Half (Blue/Red and Yellow/Green). There are also t-shirt bundles available for each physical edition.

Shy, Low Sign With Spartan Records; Stream New Song

Richmond, VA’s Shy, Low have announced their signing to Spartan Records (Over The Ocean) today. Congratulations to the entire band on the fantastic news!

Their forthcoming two song EP, Binary Opposition, clocks in at 25 minutes and will be released digitally and on 12” vinyl on June 25. This material was recorded at the legendary Inner Ear Recording Studios, outside of Washington, DC. Purchase right here. STREAM: Over The Ocean – “God In My Own Image”

Norfolk, Virginia’s Over The Ocean is streaming one of the new songs from their upcoming Spartan Records release, Be Given To The Soil, on YouTube.

The song is called “God In My Own Image” and it showcases the band’s ambient style of musicianship quite well.

Be Given To The Soil is currently available exclusively on gatefold double vinyl through Spartan Records. It will be available digitally on April 30.

Over The Ocean Premieres Song; Launches Vinyl Pre-Order

This morning, while I was snatching up my copy of Mae’s Destination: Beautiful on vinyl at the Spartan Records web-store, I happened upon a band called Over The Ocean who had recently put out a pre-order for a record of their own.

The album is called Be Given To The Soil and is being pressed on an absolutely beautiful ‘Ultra Clear vinyl with Dark Green Haze’ variant in a double LP packaging (wipes away drool). Oh, and the music is good too. Really good.

Mae’s ‘Destination Beautiful’ to be Re-Pressed on Vinyl

Almost a year since the first pressing of Mae’s Destination Beautiful was released, it looks like there will be a second pressing coming this week!

For its first pressing, Spartan Records printed 500 copies in 3 different variants. Those copies are now selling upwards of 100 bucks on eBay.

Today, the label announced on Twitter that they would be re-printing the record to another 500 copies. The pre-order goes live Monday morning.
