Slipknot Stream ’5: The Gray Chapter’ In Full

This coming Tuesday Slipknot will officially release their fifth studio album, 5: The Gray Chapter. This is their first album without Joey Jordison and Paul Gray. Gray unexpectedly passed away back in 2010, which is at least part of the reason why his name is referenced in the album title.

Over the last couple weeks the band has slowly been releasing singles through their website. Now that we are only a few days from the album release, they finally put the entire album up to be streamed. You can check it out for yourself right here.

Slipknot Release New Song “Sarcastrophe”

Slipknot has released another new song from their upcoming album. Entitled “Sarcastrophe,” this one is the best example of classic Slipknot that we’ve heard from the record so far.

After a slow start, the song moves into a fantastic, heavy jam that sounds like a definite progression from 2008′s All Hope Is Gone. No frills here – if you like Slipknot, this is what you signed up for. Corey Taylor has sounded excellent on all of the new songs so far, but he really shines here as the fearless leader of the band.

Check out “Sarcastrophe” here, and …

Slipknot Stream “XIX”

“This song is not for the living. This song is for the dead.”

“XIX,” otherwise known as the opening track off Slipknot‘s highly-anticipated new album, has appeared online ahead of the record’s late October release. The track begins with a soft spoken Corey Taylor uttering the phrase above before transitioning into an acoustic-driven track that finds Taylor belting about how disconnected he feels from everything around him. He’s broken, alone, and contrary to what you might hear he is not doing well. He wants you to join him, and in many ways “XIX” serves as his call to arms. …

Slipknot Release New Song “Custer”

Slipknot have released another single from their upcoming album .5: The Gray Chapter. Entitled “Custer,” the new track shows another new side to the sound of the upcoming album.

Musically, this new track sounds most similar to the overall vibe of Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). The spoken intro immediately made me think of “Pulse of the Maggots” in particular. For comparison’s sake, I felt that “The Negative One” was as heavy as some of the band’s heaviest work on Iowa, and “The Devil In I” sounded more like a very heavy Stone …

Slipknot Show Off New Masks With “The Devil In I” Music Video

The highly anticipated return of Slipknot has been met with mixed reviews from critics and fans alike thus far, but after the clip you are about to see I think we will all agree there is one thing about this band that never disappoints.

This morning, Slipknot shared the official music video for their recent single “The Devil In I.” The clip, which supports the first song released in support of the band’s forthcoming studio album, features the band performing in what looks to be a rundown mental hospital while strange and creepy things happen around them. Slipknot Announce US Headlining Tour With Korn, King 810

Hot on the heels of the news that their latest studio album will arrive in October, Slipknot have revealed plans to embark on an extensive US headlining tour later this year.

Kicking off at Knotfest in San Bernadino on October 25 and 26, the ‘Prepare For Hell Tour’ is the first stateside run from Slipknot in several years. The outing will find the Iowa-based metalcore outfit traveling coast to coast over the course of six weeks with support from Korn and Michigan hardcore act King 810. I’m not sure how the hell King 810 made the cut, but they …

iTunes Reveals Slipknot’s Album Title, Release Date, Cover Art, and Track List

The promotional run for Slipknot‘s latest studio album has been shrouded in mystery from day one, but it looks like iTunes may have just spoiled the fun of future reveals for everyone involved in the band’s current public relations campaign.

Late last night, iTunes updated its music story to include a pre-order of Slipknot’s latest studio album. The record, which was announced near the beginning of summer, had not been given an official release date, title, track list, or cover art before this time. We thought long and hard about whether or not to share what we learned, and …

Slipknot Stream “The Devil In I”

The return of Slipknot continues this afternoon with the premiere of a brand new track titled “The Devil In I.”

We have known throughout the year that Slipknot were working on material, but it’s only in the last month that any audio has begun to show up online. “The Devil In I” is the second song off the group’s upcoming album to surface, and it’s far more melodic than “The Negative One.” The first half sounds a bit like Stone Sour, but once the hook kicks in the Slipknot we all know and love begins to be revealed. …

Slipknot Release “The Negative One” Music Video

Just days after dominating rock headlines with their first single in years, Slipknot have returned to the front page of UTG to release their official video for “The Negative One.”

Earlier today, the first music video connected to Slipknot’s highly-anticipated new album found its way online. The clip features imagery similar to the creepy sequences showcased in the viral promotional videos released by Slipknot in recent weeks. There are beautiful women dressed as Gothic nightmares, a dead goat surrounded by flowers, and multiple shots of people standing around dilapidated properties. The one thing you don’t see, however, is Slipknot. You …
