Machine Gun Kelly Honors Eminem In Detroit

Cleveland bred rapper, Machine Gun Kelly, has a long legacy of incorporating the artists who inspired him into his live set. On Warped Tour 2012 he could be found adding the likes of Blink-182, Limp Bizkit, and more into his routine, and fans ATE IT UP. Seriously, covers have always been cool, but I’m not sure anyone could have guess how successful hip hop covers would be (especially in a live setting).

Recently, Machine Gun Kelly took his current US tour through St. Andrew’s Hall in Detroit, MI. Prior to the show, MGK met with fans on the stoop of …

LYRIC VIDEO: Skylar Grey – “C’mon Let Me Ride (Feat. Eminem)”

Shady, Shady, Shady… What have you done now?

You were doing so well. Recovery was great, your song with Fiddy and Adam “I hate the Roxy” Levine is going over well (with a video to boot), and people seem to give a shit about you again. With all of this good coming to you, why do this? This terrible, terrible thing.

This is Skylar Grey’s new single “C’Mon Let Me Ride.” It’s Rebecca Black level ridiculous. Marshall Mathers lends his voice to the track with a silly verse and a cringe-worthy cover sample of Queen’s “Bicycle Race” in …

FEATURE: Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” Turns 10

Ten years ago, on October 22, 2002, Eminem released “Lose Yourself.”  The first single from the soundtrack to the film 8 Mile, the song marked a high point in an already meteoric career that still felt in its infancy.  A wildly broad success, “Lose Yourself” would go on to hit number one on 24 charts around the globe, be nominated for five Grammys (winning one), and won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.  A decade later, the song remains his greatest accomplishment, one so dauntingly impressive that it has haunted his diminishing returns ever since.

To examine Eminem’s …

STREAM/DOWNLOAD: Slaughterhouse Ft Eminem – Throw That

There are still a few days left before the official Slaughterhouse record drops, but we have a new song for you to devour right now.

Serving as one of the most anticipated tracks of welcome to: OUR HOUSE, “Throw That” pairs raps nastiest crew with megastar Eminem against a beat chock full of snare and stomps. I’m not crazy about this, but to be honest there is very little about Eminem’s “joke” side that I have ever enjoyed. This is a good time type jam though, so if that interests you, click past the jump and enjoy.

History Lesson

MUSIC HISTORY CLASS: The Marshall Mathers LP

On this day in 2000, Eminem’s third album, The Marshall Mathers LP, became the fastest selling album of all time, turning 1.76 million copies in its first week. Eminem’s sales bounced the week-one sales record from the legendary Ms. Britney Spears and her sophomore record, Oops…I Did it Again (which sold 1.3 million records in its first week). Yet, Mathers was just getting started. All in all, The Marshall Mathers LP has sold over 19 million copies (!) worldwide, with over 10 million records being sold in the United States alone. That is enough to be certified Diamond. …

STREAM/DOWNLOAD: Royce Da 5’9″ ft. Eminem – Writer’s Block

This track made its way online earlier tonight and should probably become the soundtrack to your evening. Rumored to be off Royce’s Shady debut, Success Is Certain, “Writer’s Block” finds Royce going in HARD while Em provides the hook. This is definitely NOT a track for radio, but regardless, it is damn good rap. What more do you need? Stream “Writer’s Block” below and, if you like it, download a copy for yourself as well.

Eminem’s open letter to Detroit

Many artists, even those who claim loyalty to their hometown or state, eventually uproot and relocate to a more convenient part of the country for their careers (AKA L.A/NYC). However, Eminem is not on of those artist. The Michigan born rapper has remained loyal to his hometown of Detroit throughout his career and is now addressing the city in a new video.

Below you will find Eminem’s open letter to Detroit. This isn’t a music video and this isn’t an advertisement. This is an actual message, written by Em, intended to raise hopes and inspire a city that has fallen …

STREAM: Eminem – G.O.A.T. (Jay-Z diss)

A previously unreleased song from Eminem has hit the net and definitely deserves four minutes of your time. This is a track for those who loved Recovery, but still wanted a little more piss and vinegar. Let’s be honest though, he’s right, he is one of the greatest of all time.
