Underminded Show Signs Of Progress

Under The Gun Review brought the news in May that California hardcore outfit Underminded were officially back in action.

Drummer Tanner Wayne posted an Instagram photo of songs being recorded today, which further confirms our speculations of new music. Our staff cannot wait to hear this material and will do our best to bring you any sort of leads or demos we can.

Check out the photo through the jump and let UTG know if you are ready for new Underminded songs!

UTG PHOTOS: The Hush Sound & JJAMZ (10/26/12)

Under The Gun’s photographer, Tori Thomas attended The Hush Sound & JJAMZ show at House Of Blues in Chicago, IL on October 26.

I arrived to The Hush Sound & JJAMZ show more stoked than ever. The Hush Sound was one of my favorite bands and I love JJAMZ’s music. JJAMZ was actually second on the bill (I missed the first band), but put on a great show. I’ve listened to them since Alex Greenwald talked about starting this band after Phantom Planet went on hiatus. They were awesome live, and I will definitely see them again. Then it was …

UTG PHOTOS: Nylon & Starbucks Frappuccino Summer Music Tour (8/14/12)

Under The Gun’s photographer, Tori Thomas attended the Detroit date of the Nylon & Starbucks Frappuccino Summer Music Tour featuring Neon Trees, Walk The Moon, & Twenty One Pilots on August 14.

As fellow readers and followers of UTG would know, I’ve been to a few Twenty One Pilots shows. This time it was a little different, seeing they were on a bigger stage. It was a good kind of different, I could definitely tell a big stage set up works well for them. Along with a bigger set up, they covered “Shout” by The Isley Brothers, which was a …

Pomegranates

UTG PHOTOS: Pomegranates & Kitten (8/3/12)

Under The Gun’s photographer, Tori Thomas attended the Pomegranates & Kitten show at Musica in Akron on August 3.

I’ve never seen either band that performed at this show, but I’ve listened to Kitten for a little over a year. Seeing them live really set in how much I like their music. They put on a killer performance; Chloe Chaidez, lead singer, was all over the stage, while going a little crazy. If you’re into checking out new music and going to shows, you should attend a Kitten show! I’ve never listened to Pomegranates before, but they won me over …

Fireworks Perform “Detroit” At ATP! Birthday Show

The Alter The Press birthday show was one I will truly always remember. Fireworks performed their crowd favorite “Detroit” in their hometown and fans just went bananas when the opening riff was played.

The band also performed their EP, We Are Everywhere, in full for one of the last times ever. Please watch Fireworks’ energetic video after the jump and rock along with us.

Miniature Tigers

UTG PHOTOS: Miniature Tigers (7/27/12)

Under The Gun’s photographer Tori Thomas attended the Miniature Tigers show at Musica in Akron on July 27.

I’ve seen Miniature Tigers once before, on the fun. tour. This show was totally different, it was more intimate and unique. During a lot of the songs, Charlie Brand, lead singer, would interact with the audience. Also half way through the set, a kid came on stage to join in the fun; he joined the band by playing tambourine. I think Miniature Tigers has a new touring member, he was excellent at that tambourine. Some people don’t like Miniature Tigers’ new stuff, …

THINGS THAT ROCK: Sing It Loud Announce Reunion Show

Minneapolis, MN pop rock group Sing It Loud have announced that they will be playing a special reunion show on October 6 in their home state. UTG is sad that the show is so far away from us but hopefully the band will plan a trip to the Midwest in the near future.

We urge every last one of you, that is in the general area of the new Mill City Nights venue, to attend this show. If you are looking to take photographs and/or do live coverage from the event please contact UTG about a special opportunity. We would …

Jonas Brothers Reunite, Announce NYC Show

The Jonas Brothers have announced on-air with Ryan Seacrest that they will be reuniting for one show at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on October 11. I have a feeling we will be hearing reports of teenage girls completely taking over NYC on this night.

Nick Jonas told Seacrest, “I think the main thing to expect from this show is a show that’s all about the music and we want the production of a show, the bells and whistles to really be in the music and being creative with how we can sort of remix our older

Sleeping With Sirens

UTG PHOTOS: Cincinnati Warped Tour (7/31/12)

Under The Gun’s photographer, Tori Thomas attended the Cincinnati date of Warped Tour on July 31st. She caught Sleeping with Sirens and Memphis May Fire’s set that day!

Warped Tour season came this summer and I was stoked. I’ve been to Vans Warped Tour for the past five years, and a summer wouldn’t be the same without it! That means if you’ve never been, make an effort to attend next year! My Warped Tour experiences are different from the average Warped attendee. Last year I interned with FBR on Warped for six days and became good friends with Metal Mike, …

Gold Motel

UTG PHOTOS: Gold Motel (7/18/12)

Under The Gun’s photographer Tori Thomas attended Gold Motel’s show at Grog Shop on July 18.

I showed up to Grop Shop expecting an awesome show, which is always achieved. The show consisted of two local artists, These Knees and Leah Lou & The 2 Left Shoes, and Gold Motel closing out the night. These Knees started off the night, and did an awesome job at it; I really got into their music. Next up was Leah Lou & The 2 Left Shoes, who blew me away. When they were setting up their gear, I was amazed by the …

UTG PHOTOS: Beast Friends Forever Tour (7/10/12)

Under The Gun’s photographer Tori Thomas attended the Beast Friends Forever Tour featuring Jon Walker (ex-Panic! At The Disco), Mark Rose (ex-Spitalfield), and Lucas Carpenter at the Beachlad Tavern in Cleveland, OH on July 10th.

As many of you know, I attended the first date of this tour back in June. I’m bringing you another photo set from the Beast Friends Forever Tour! This date was equally as awesome as the date in Buchanan, MI. They played in a writer’s round, just as before, but this time they worked out the kinks. Lucas Carpenter started off the writer’s round …
