One moment we’ve been anxiously awaiting this year is officially here! We’ve been dying to get a taste of Scale The Summit‘s new effort, The Migration, and as we had hoped, this preview of “Odyssey” is everything we wanted and then some. With that patented STS sound and some new progression since The Collective, we cannot wait to get our grubby paws on this new album if this teaser is any indication of what we can expect on their newest full-length.

Scale The Summit Release Writing Sessions Teaser For ‘The Migration’

Houston, Texas’ incredibly talented instrumental foursome Scale The Summit have released a brand new live sessions trailer of some material they’re writing for their forthcoming album, The Migration, which we’re very excited to say will be released in 2013.

Many were skeptical as to how the band would fair sans original bassist, Jordan Eberhardt, but this video may just be proof that new addition, Mark Michell of Tetrafusion, will fill his shoes with the appropriate skill to help Scale The Summit continue to evolve musically and grow in popularity as they have so quickly done since their inception.

Scale The Summit Lose Bassist Jordan Eberhardt

Scale The Summit revealed that they had to part ways with their bass player Jordan Eberhardt. UTG wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavors. Filling in for Jordan will be Tetrafusion’s own Mark Michell.

Scale The Summit Reveal More Headlining Dates

Scale The Summit have revealed more headlining tour dates for their run and UTG is beyond excited to show them to you all! The band’s first headliner will find direct support from the guys in Elitist. Be sure to pick up Scale The Summit’s latest release, The Collective, through Prosthetic Records.

Scale The Summit Announce First Headlining Tour

Scale The Summit have unveiled plans to embark on their first headlining tour in early 2012.

Joined by support act Elitist, Scale The Summit will launch into the near month-long tour at the end of January. You can view the full tour itinerary after the jump.

Scale The Summit have been making waves in the blogosphere since 2005, but their recent release The Collective launched them into the rock stratosphere. Check the dates after the jump and let UTG know what date you will be attending in the comments.

Elitist Release New Song ‘Specter’

Progressive metalcore act Elitist have released a new track entitled “Specter” that will be featured on their upcoming Earth EP which is due to drop on October 25 via Blkheart Group.

Elitist recently completed the “Pull Me From the Gallows” tour in support of The Human Abstract and Scale the Summit. You can view their official lyric video for “Specter” after the jump.

The Human Abstract have released a video featuring a behind the scenes look at their recent time on the Pull Me From The Gallows tour. As you will recall, the tour had its’ fair share of turmoil. See for yourself below:

Though yesterday’s announcement that The Human Abstract would be canceling all remaining dates of the “Pull Me From The Gallows Tour” lead many to believe the tour itself was dead, it seems we were wrong. The PRP is reporting that Scale The Summit, This Or The Apocalypse, and letlive. (and on select dates, Elitist) will be continuing the tour. Click here for tour dates.

The Collective is most certainly a stunning affair, very much worthy of your attention. The lack of lyrics may alienate some but is not in any way a reason to condemn it. The album is beautifully conceived and realised and a vivid, sprawling experience. “
