Wu Tang Clan Members Accused of Illegal Sampling

A report has surfaced that names Wu Tung Clan members Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Method Man and RZA as defendants in a suit accusing them of illegal sampling. The accuser is Bridgeport Music and Westbound Records.

The track in question is “New Wu” from ‘Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… Pt. II, a Raekwon solo album released in 2009. It is accused of a 12-second or four measure cut “I’ve Changed” by the Magictones. Diplo teams up with Legitmix for ‘Mad Legit’

Sampling legend and mixmaster Diplo has unleashed a brand new project that looks to transform the world of sampling as we know it. He has teamed up with the company Legitmix, that allows musicians to legally sample music from other artists, sell it, without dealing with the hectic sample-clearing process. In an effort to spread to word of Legitmix, Diplo has teamed up with the company to release his own 40-minute mash of all sampled tracks from the program. Jay-Z is being sued by the family of Egyptian composer Baligh Hamdi, who wrote the song “Khosara, Khosara” for a 1957 Egyptian film named Fata Ahlami.

Hamdi’s children are suing EMI, MTV, Paramount Pictures, UMG and Warner Music over
