The Smashing Pumpkins Stream “Being Beige” From New Album

The Smashing Pumpkins have released the first song from their upcoming LP, Monuments to an Elegy, via Rolling Stone.

With the album due out December 9, hopefully the bright track can tide fans over until then. Featuring lush atmospheres and pretty guitars grounded by acoustics, “Being Beige” is a soaring track that may divide Smashing Pumpkins fans (though honestly, what doesn’t?), but it sure is a solid track that is consistent throughout.

When speaking on the track with Rolling Stone, singer/guitarist Billy Corgan said that “people always ask me to explain songs, and honestly I can’t. But if there’s …

U2 Album in 2014 Still Possible

After back-and-forth rumors about U2 releasing its follow-up to the hugely disappointing 2009 effort No Line on the Horizon, it seems yet again that 2014 is the year.

According to Rolling Stone, a spokesperson for the band has been quoted saying it’s now. “We’ve always said an album is expected this year.”

The band has been working on this album for a good five years now and to quote The Edge, “We really want the songs to be right. That’s the only reason why we’re not on tour – because we’re so good at starting, not so good …

UTG INTERVIEW: Night Riots @ SXSW

Night Riots have infected listeners with its contagious blend of electronic and alternative rock. The 2013 release, Young Lore, is making waves amongst a sea of mediocre competition. Songs such as “Remedy” and “Young Lore” display a band composed of musicianship that is absent of fallacies. The record mirrors the essence of other fabulous key-driven acts such as The Killers or Keane.

Under The Gun had a chance to sit down with the band at SXSW to talk about the success the band has been having with the latest release and what we’re to expect from the band …

Red Hot Chili Peppers Expect New Music Out In September

In the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone, dated April 24, Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer is interviewed by Rob Tannenbaum, according to a scan of the magazine from RHCP fansite Stadium-Arcadium.com. The feature touches on the band’s upcoming work:

We’ve got some songs written already, some of which will definitely be on the [new] album. The amazing thing about the band is that we always keep evolving, but what we’ve been really keen on is taking our best elements and keep them rolling forwards. It’s looking like we’ll have something out around September time. I’m really

Drake Claims He Never Commented On ‘Yeezus’ To Rolling Stone

There is an interview with Drake in the new issue of Rolling Stone, and last night a number of quotes from the article began making their way across the internet. The initial headlines referred to comments made regarding Macklemore’s text to Kendrick Lamar following the GRAMMY’s, but the topic that has Aubrey pissed this morning is what the publication claims he said about Yeezus.

According to Rolling Stone, Drake commented during their interview that he felt the lyrics on Kanye West’s Yeezus were inconsistent. He allegedly even went as far as to say “There were some real questionable bars …

It feels both about time and yet still too early for it to be true, but Nirvana are finally in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Bob Dylan Sued by Croatians for Racism

Following the release of an interactive video for “Like A Rolling Stone” that took the web by storm, the singer-songwriter is being sued for racism by a group of Croatians.

In a 2012 interview with Rolling Stone, Dylan commented on the conflict between the Catholic Croats and Christian Orthodox Serbs, comparing it to Jews and Nazis as well as slavery in America.

According to the International Business Times, Vlatko Marić, Croatian secretary general, said: “It is an incitement to hatred. You cannot compare Croatian criminals to all Croats. But we have nothing against Rolling Stone magazine or Bob Dylan as …

Foster The People’s Next Record “Not What People Will Expect”

In 2011, Foster The People broke onto the scene with the single “Pumped Up Kicks,” but since then, the band has had a nearly non-existent presence. Frontman Mark Foster spent this time in the studio working on the band’s next album (due out early next year) and scoring his first feature film, entitled Little Boy. But, according to Foster, the film score didn’t have any influence on the new album, saying, “They live in different worlds.”

So what can listeners expect from Foster The People’s second release?

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Foster said that the band’s upcoming …
