Cursed Sails emerged into the music scene only a couple of months ago, but they’ve exploded in popularity already. Fans have high expectations of them, and for good reason. Their first single was a hit, and now they’ve dropped their second song off their debut album, Rotten Society. REVIEW: For The Fallen Dreams – ‘Heavy Hearts’

Artist: For the Fallen Dreams
Album: Heavy Hearts
Genre: Metalcore / Melodic Hardcore
Label: Rise Records

The term metalcore has evolved quite substantially since it first started being thrown around. Over the course of two decades, the movement that was pioneered by groups like Cave In and Shai Hulud has grown into a blanket term used to describe a wide variety of musical unions. Likewise, I find myself growing increasingly critical of bands adopting this title, partially because they’re not Cave In or Shai Hulud, but mainly because they do very little to distinguish themselves from one and other, instead …

STREAM: Palisades – “Drunk In Love” (Beyonce Cover)

Palisades are by no means one of the heaviest acts on Rise Records’ roster. A majority of their songs are mostly clean vocals with some uncleans peppered in here and there. One thing they have become known for though is heavy electronic influence in some of their music. The song “High & Low,” for example, has almost a remixed feel to it. With that in mind, it seems natural that they would choose a song to cover where they could take advantage of that element. The band decided to reinvent Beyonce’s single, “Drunk In Love,” and it’s not half bad. …

STREAM: For The Fallen Dreams – “Smelling Salt”

Yesterday For The Fallen Dreams revealed the second single this week from their upcoming album, Heavy Hearts. Considering we are now less than a week away from its street date, we will likely be hearing a few more if not the rest of the songs off the album very soon. The latest single is titled “Smelling Salt,” and it’s available to stream below the break.

Compared to the other singles released so far, “Smelling Salt” falls a little behind. “Bombay,” for instance, is very melodic and is a bit more dynamic in its sound. This is a genre where …

MUSIC VIDEO: Miss May I – “Echoes”

Earlier today Miss May I premiered a music video for the second single off their forthcoming album, Rise Of The Lion. The new song is titled “Echoes,” and the video is available below the break.

According to some statements made by the group, “Echoes” is one of their oldest songs and has been rewritten many times over. It’s about losing someone close to you, and just as you would suspect, the song is packed full of emotion.

Rise Of The Lion will hit stores April 29 via Rise Records. You can pre-order the album by heading to the band’s …

Emarosa Release Update Video Featuring Some New Music

Oh, Emarosa. It’s safe to say that their fans are split into two different groups right now. The first, which is the group that I and some other staffers are in, is made up of fans who are excited for this next chapter of the band’s career with Bradley Walden at the helm. The second group consists of fans who are skeptical of the band without Jonny Craig. Both groups though, are certainly anxiously waiting for a little taste of new music.

The band and their label have increased the amount of talk about their work, so we’ve been …
