Rise Against New Album 2014

Rise Against Teasing New Album For 2014

After finding relatively massive mainstream success with their two most recent LPs, Rise Against have quietly and gradually become one of the biggest punk bands of the last fifteen years. While some fans of the older material claim that the band has sold out in favor of a more radio-friendly sound, one look at their recently posted teaser video might prove otherwise.

The video, which you can stream after the jump, takes a glance at each of the band’s releases from 2001′s The Unraveling through 2011′s Endgame before showing the band in the studio recording their new record. Maybe I …

Summerfest 2014

Summerfest Unveils Impressive Lineup

As a Milwaukee native, I’ll be the first to admit that, in recent years, Summerfest has left a lot to be desired. Waves of nefarious activity, coupled with expanding crowds and consistently lackluster lineups have made the annual, 11-day event sort of a running joke amongst my circle of friends—a place for teens to blackout on grain alcohol and garner new profile pics. However, it seems like this will not be the case this coming summer, as earlier today, “The Big Gig” announced an absolutely killer roster, including Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Brand New, Rise Against, …

Dead Ending

Dead Ending (Members of Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, and More) Sign To Bridge Nine Records

Dead Ending are one of the newest names to be added onto Bridge Nine Records’ roster, and if there’s anything that each of the band members’ discographies show, it’s that there is one promising release in the works.

With a line-up including the likes of The Bomb’s Jeff Dean, Articles Of Faith’s Vic Bondi, Rise Against’s Joe Principe, and Alkaline Trio’s Derek Grant, you could consider DE a full-fledged punk rock super group. According to a press release, this Chicago-based act will be putting out their DE III EP this April.

Acquaint yourself to the group by following the jump …

Machine Gun Kelly Releases “Swing Life Away” Video Featuring Kellin Quinn

Cleveland native Machine Gun Kelly has released the official music video for his Kellin Quinn assisted single, “Swing Life Away.”

Borrowing a hook and a bit of music from Chicago punk heroes Rise Against to tell his own story of overcoming the odds, Machine Gun Kelly has crafted quite an interesting single with “Swing Life Away.” The original message of love being more important than any other job or task still remains, but the way it’s delivered has been changed to showcase the softer side of MGK. The chorus may be the same, but the verses are filled …

UTG LIST: 10-Year Album Anniversaries We Want To See Celebrated In 2014

The majority of our staff was in high school a decade back and as 10-year anniversary tours have seemingly become a staple in the genres we held closest to our hearts at the time (and still), we’ve grown to accept this fact and find it only appropriate that we again look back and pinpoint our favorite albums from a simpler time that we would love to see celebrated in the form of a tour, select shows, or at the very least, get a first-time vinyl treatment or reissue.

2013 was a massive year for bands and fans alike in terms …

Rise Against Release B-Side Sampler Video

With this in mind, the band has released a sampler video that has clips from several b-sides, essentially acting as a trailer for the record.

Rise Against 2013

WATCH: Rise Against – “Historia Calamitatum Moto X Gloria”

Punk band Rise Against are probably best known for Siren Song of the Counter Culture, but they’re still at it and cranking out solid tunes. They recently released a music video for their new song “Historia Calamitatum Moto X Gloria” (which is Latin for something along the lines of “The History of Disaster in Motocross Glory”). Fittingly, the music video features the Crusty Demons doing a bunch of crazy dirt bike tricks and jumps – most of which are disaster free. The song is off their latest release, Long Forgotten Songs: B-Sides & Covers 2000-2013 that is already for

Rise Against Stream “Sight Unseen”

Most of the time, there is a small minority of music fans who actually care for rarities releases, but then again, most of the time, we’re not talking about Rise Against‘s upcoming Long Forgotten Songs: B-Sides & Covers 2000 – 2013 album. Revolver Magazine just got the exclusive premiere of the latest track to be revealed off the album and it sounds absolutely incredible.

Long Forgotten Songs… won’t be hitting shelves until September 10, but pre-order packages are currently available on the band’s website. Follow the jump to listen to “Sight Unseen.”…

MOVIE REVIEW: ‘Filmage: The Story of Descendents / ALL’

Movie: Filmage: The Story of Descendents / ALL
Director: Matt Riggle, Deedle LaCour
Director of Photography: Justin Wilson
Editor: James Rayburn, Deedle LaCour, Justin Wilson

The guys in Descendents all knew that they weren’t cut out for the glamorous punk rock scene of Hollywood. Hell, the guys were too busy drinking coffee, farting, fishing, and playing mad scientist to worry about styling their hair and getting leather jackets. That didn’t stop them from changing rock music forever.

In spirit of our recent interview with Descendents’ drummer Bill Stevenson, Under The Gun Review has received an advanced copy of Filmage:

A special message from the band and the cover artwork for RA’s forthcoming effort can be seen below!

“In the last thirteen or so years Rise Against has put out six records, each one we are proud to put our name on,” says lead singer Tim McIlrath. “But we are just as proud of these 26 songs that slipped through the cracks and never ended

Machine Gun Kelly 2013

DOWNLOAD: Machine Gun Kelly And Kellin Quinn (Sleeping With Sirens) Cover Rise Against’s “Swing Life Away”

Cleveland rapper Machine Gun Kelly recently made headlines for adding a verse to Sleeping With Sirens‘ new album, Feel, and now the time has come for SWS frontman Kellin Quinn to repay the favor.

Adding his signature croon to MGK’s highly enjoyable reinterpretation of the Rise Against classic “Swing Life Away,” Kellin Quinn recently joined the shortlist of alt-rock singers to appear on a hip hop mixtape. The highly repeatable track finds the Rise Records heartthrob taking the lead on chorus, while MGK offers new verses that reflect his life and struggle without veering too far from the …
