Black Sabbath Album Set For June Release

Over the weekend, classic rock and early heavy metal legends Black Sabbath announced that their next album would come out in June. The album, titled 13, is produced by Rick Rubin, famed for his work ranging from the Beastie Boys to Metallica.

Also announced this weekend was Black Sabbath’s studio drummer; Rage Against The Machine‘s Brad Wilk will sit on the throne for the album. I’m not sure how Wilk’s hip hop influenced, laid back style will groove with Sabbath, but time will tell. Former drummer Bill Ward quit after months of venting his frustrations publicly. …

Gogol Bordello Expect Album Release In May 2013

Gypsy punks Gogol Bordello have told Rolling Stone that they expect their next album to come out in May of 2013. The album, which won’t be produced by Rick Rubin but instead by his assistant Andrew Sheps, has a tentative title of Pura Vida Conspiracy. It will be their first full album stateside since 2010′s Trans-Continental Hustle.

It should be noted that singer Eugene Hütz hasn’t acted in a film since 2008, either. Given how much time it’s been since they released a new project, the release comes with some expectations. Let’s hope it lives up to their …

They’ll be kicking off their independence with a concert release on DVD and Blu Ray. It was filmed for the Death Magnetic Tour and will be released on December 10. The band stated “There are still some i’s [sic] being dotted

The entire statement can be read below.

We told you last week that Black Sabbath were planning a press conference today and we can now confirm that not only has the original lineup reunited, they’re planning a whole lot in 2012.

We heard it first from Rolling Stone, who is covering the event (our invitation must have gotten lost in the mail). Their official account tweeted “It’s official: Black Sabbath are recording a new album with Rick Rubin and touring the world in 2012″ just after 2pm this afternoon.

This is exciting news, but I’m pretty sure we all assumed they were getting back together. I mean, …
