Saosin Working On “New Tunes” With Anthony Green

Earlier in the day, the internet was set abuzz with the news that Saosin may potentially be writing new music with former vocalist Anthony Green, who until recently dedicated his time to his solo work and more prominent venture, Circa Survive. The rumor itself stemmed from a status update posted to the outfit’s official Facebook page, which referenced the group’s upcoming weekend run, which began tonight in Anaheim, CA. You can view said status here.

Now, as exciting as this news may appear, it is also important to make note of its ambiguity. While it opens …

Sleep Announce August U.S. Tour Dates

Seminal stoner/doom metal band Sleep has announced a handful of August U.S. tour dates. The group was initially active throughout the 1990s before calling it quits in 1998 amidst a label dispute surrounding the release of their one-track, 63-minute opus Dopesmoker.

Guitarist Matt Pike would form High on Fire in the band’s wake, while vocalist/bassist Al Cisneros would later move forward in experimental metal group Om. Sleep has performed intermittently since playing their first reunion show in 2009, enlisting the services of Jason Roeder (Neurosis) after original drummer Chris Hakius retired from music in 2010.

All that said, Sleep …

Jimmy Page Responds to Led Zeppelin Glastonbury Rumors

Glastonbury Festival founder Michael Eavis said earlier this year that he was “sure” Led Zeppelin would play his festival one day. “I haven’t heard about anything since the 2007 O2 gig, but you never know do you,” said Page. “You never know what’s going to happen tomorrow, do you?” The band has carved a spot in music history as one of the most important rock bands not just for …

Prepare Yourselves: Atreyu Are About To Do Something Cool (We Think)

Earlier this year we spent an entire afternoon battling heart palpitations while considering the possibility of Atreyu returning from their hiatus to once more rock audiences around the world. We were so excited, in fact, that we ran a listicle so soon after the announcement we thought Buzzfeed would high five us (they never did). The buzz wore off a few days later however, and the band stopped making updates all over again.

Yesterday, every single social network controlled by Atreyu was updated with solid black imagery. Every profile picture, cover photo, and accompanying customizable space was turned black without …
