The Movielife Sell Out First Show Back, Schedule Another

The Movielife announced their return to music earlier this month, and it did not take long for the internet to lose its collective mind with excitement. The band quickly announced plans for a reunion show in NYC at the beginning of February, and just last Friday tickets for that show went on sale. Within hours, the show sold out. So, knowing demand was still high, The Movielife did what any intelligent entertainment professional would do when presented with a similar situation: Schedule another show.

This morning, The Movielife revealed that they have scheduled a second reunion show for Friday, February …

CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY: Thrice Tease 2015 Return

I know you are probably spending a few minutes of each day looking at the growing number of colorful packages under your Christmas tree and fantasizing about what each box might contain. I do the same thing, but this morning I learned that sometimes the best presents don’t have a box or wrapping paper at all. Sometimes the best gifts come in the form of plans, and today the members of Thrice teased plans for the new year.

Yes, after a few years of hiatus, Thrice have begun to tease what will likely be a resurgence for the band in …

UTG INTERVIEW: After Nearly Two Decades, SNOT Still Bring Energy To The Stage

Unmatched and unmarred by any other act in the hardcore music scene, SNOT have reunited and returned to the touring scene in celebration of the band’s groundbreaking record, Get Some.

Although the band’s recording career was cut short due to the untimely and tragic death of frontman James Lynn Strait in 1998, because of their unique and undeniably influential fusion of punk, metal, and hardcore music, the legacy of SNOT is as strong as ever. The band has reunited for a second time since Strait’s death — this time tapping Carl Bensley to fill in on vocals for the …

The Movielife Announce a Reunion

It brings me great pleasure to post something about Vinnie Caruana and the boys from The Movielife and not have to tell you to continue dreaming about a reunion.

Today, in an interview with Noisey, the band confirmed that they would indeed be reuniting. They will playing a one-off show in New York, at the Irving Plaza on February 7, which is all that is set in stone. But, in the midst of the interview, the band mentions that that show will just be the beginning.

“Our plan is to start at Irving Plaza and go from there. There are …

SLEATER-KINNEY-600x396

Sleater-Kinney Share A Fiery New Single For Us To Fawn Over

Even in the current era where a reunion is more inevitability than pipe dream, a select few illicit enough fervent joy as to capture the collective internet. The resurrection of Sleater-Kinney easily qualifies, with the trio’s importance, each member’s post-Sleater success, and the sense of it being height-of-their-powers demise being key factors.

So we all kind of lost our minds at the news of a new album (No Cities To Love) and tour in 2015. Furthermore, we’ve now been given two new, barnstorming, punk rock songs that wholly justify getting the band back together. The three kept …

UTG TV: The Matches Talk Reunion Shows

In 2004, Epitaph Records re-released The Matches‘ debut album E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals. Ten years later and after a break from being a band, the guys got back together to repress some vinyl. They didn’t expect it to turn into a series of sold-out reunion shows in Chicago, New York City, and even Australia.

On the second night of The Matches’ gigs at NYC’s Gramercy Theatre, we sat down with Shawn Harris (vocals/guitar) and Matt Whalen (drums) to talk about their experience in reuniting the band.

Check below the jump to hear about the nostalgic and …

Copeland Stream ‘Ixora’ In Full

After the rumor mill spun with talks of a Copeland reunion and the actual announcement of the first album the band has released in six years, we have finally been given the long-awaited Ixora.

Around here, this has been one of our most highly anticipated releases of 2014, as every single album this band has put out is just a glorious listening session. Aaron Marsh’s beautiful voice may resemble what angels sound like.

The band has put the full stream of the album up on Spotify a week before it’s released. Could this be the comeback of the year? …

Refused

Possible New Refused Album in the Works?

Within the last few years, even weeks, we’ve seen stirs of life from the genre-defining group Refused. The band got back together and played a few reunion shows and announced that that was it.

Then all of a sudden, about two weeks ago, it was made known via Facebook drama, that guitarist Jon Brännström had been fired from the band because, and I quote, “he did not share our passion for the band.” Cryptic, but somewhat revealing.

And yesterday, the bassist from …And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead, Autry Fulbright II, posted on Instagram …

You Me And Everyone We Know 2013

FREE JAMS: You, Me, And Everyone We Know Releases Discography For Free

It’s a pretty good day in music when one of the premier artists from the mid-late 2000s’ emotional rock scene drops an entire discography for free. Not a song, an EP, or even a record — all six albums from You, Me, And Everyone We Know are up for free grabs on the band’s website.

What does mastermind Ben Liebsch and co. have store in the future? The band has been playing select dates in the northeast. If all the old music is up for free, lovers of the band can only hope that means there are new tunes in …

X-Men Days of Future Past

Watch the Cast of ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ Discuss Reunion

We can all agree that one of the most intriguing moments in the history of the X-Men film series was when X-Men: First Class went into production, and brought a primarily new cast in tow. Although it was a prequel, many fans were let down at seeing so many unfamiliar faces replace the characters that they came to love over the course of the six years that spanned the releases of the first three films. But then X-Men: Days of Future Past came around and silenced critics, thanks to its time traveling plot.

Haste The Day Post Teaser For New Song

Remember that crowd-funding campaign the newly reunited Haste The Day launched to raise money for a new album? A little after their 10th anniversary show for their first record Burning Bridges and an appearance at Exodo Festival in Mexico, HTD announced their official reunion and launched the previously mentioned campaign.

Just yesterday, the band posted a video to their Facebook of them tracking guitars for a new song. You can see the video here. Did you donate to the fundraiser? Tell us what you think of the teaser in the comments!…
