House Vs. Hurricane Break Up, Give Away Unreleased Song

What a terrible way to start a day. After seven years together, Australia’s House Vs. Hurricane have decided to call it a day.

Taking to their official Facebook shortly after 2AM (EST) this morning, the members of House Vs. Hurricane posted a letter to fans explaining that they have mutually decided to end the band following previously scheduled tour dates at the end of June. The band goes on to say they may put together a more proper farewell down the road, but they make no promises. You can read their message below:

Lil Wayne Delays “Dedication 4,” Releases “No Lie” Freestyle

Over the last few weeks you may have noticed the fact that no one in the Young Money camp seemed to be promoting Lil Wayne’s highly anticipated Dedication 4 mixtape. Well, now we know why.

Partnering with BreadOverBread, Lil Wayne released a video statement to fans explaining the tape’s delay and debuting his latest freestyle. In the clip, which you can view after the jump, Weezy claims skating and the release of 2 Chainz’s debut album Based On A T.R.U. Story earlier in the week is the major cause for the delay:

DAMMIT: Van Halen Cancel Every Tour Date After June 26

Some things really are too good to be true.

After months of hype and fantastic tickets sales, Van Halen have announced the cancellation of every tour date following their June 26 appearance in New Orleans. According to Pollstar, announcements began to break shortly after noon today, with multiple sources reporting “no explanation offered” in regards to the decision.

Markets affected by these cancellations include: Philadelphia, Salt Lake City, El Paso, Baltimore, E. Rutherford, Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Memphis, Spokane, Reno, Fresno, Wichita and Milwaukee.

The new year comes filled with hope for great music, but sadly we must first say goodbye to California metal act The Human Abstract.

We realize news of the band’s breakup may seem sudden, it certainly caught us off guard, but a little bit of research following some reader emails confirmed this sad news to be true. Bassist Henry Selva commented on the status of the band only a few days ago via his personal Facebook, stating:

Matt Pryor (Get Up Kids) Cancels US Living Room Shows, Offers Statement

Get Up Kids’ frontman Matt Pryor has cancelled his upcoming US living room shows just days before his a string of New England dates were set to begin.

In a statement released to fans, Pryor wrote:

“Hey New Englanders! Due to circumstances beyond my control the living room shows this weekend in Braintree, Boston and Providence have been cancelled. I’m really sorry about this and hopefully we can reschedule. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets and rest assured you’ll be getting a full refund.”

Pop rockers The Academy Is… have announced they’ve decided to go their separate ways.

In a message posted on their Facebook, TAI wrote:

After nine years and three albums, The Academy Is… have decided to go our separate ways.

Dananananaykroyd Plan To Disband

Sad news this morning for indie fans, Dananananaykroyd have announced they will be splitting up following their current tour plans.

The announcement broke last night when the band posted a photo of themselves on Facebook with the caption “Dananananaykroyd RIP (2006-2011) ♥” Later in the evening, the band returned to Facebook and posted:

“After this UK tour we will be splitting up. I’m proud to say we are a bunch of best friends who sound better right now that we ever have and we will play this last tour harder than we’ve ever played.”

Tyler Carter leaves Woe, Is Me

Vocalist Tyler Carter has announced his departure from Rise Records’ Woe, Is Me. Carter issued the following statement to Alternative Press:

It’s not an easy step to make, but I can’t go on living a dream that I no longer have full interest in. I love the fans, and I hope the true ones will stick with Woe, Is Me and myself even after my departure. Don’t be ignorant to the situation–it’s nothing personal with the boys, I love them all. Soundwave Revolution Cancelation Petition

Yesterday, Under The Gun reported that the 2011 Soundwave Revolution Festival would be canceled. You can read the statement issued by festival promoter AJ Maddah here. Of course the cancellation caused quite an uproar with fans and paying festival attendees. As a result, a petition has surfaced asking the festival officials to reconsider the cancellation.
