STREAM: Fredo Santana – “Riot” Feat. Childish Gambino

Chicago rapper and label-owner, Fredo Santana, known by some as the elder cousin of rapper Chief Keef, has recently released an interesting track featuring Childish Gambino.

Called “Riot,” the song shows Santana’s typical style, plus a heavy contribution by Childish Gambino, who has put acting on the back burner to develop and legitimize his hip-hop image. It’s strange to hear Gambino on trap tracks, but almost fitting after hearing his recent STN MTN mixtape in which he presents himself as an Atlanta rap superstar.

Rapper Lil Wayne has been pushing back the release of Tha Carter V for the past year for unknown reasons, with the most recent push back occurring this past week.

The song features the trio introducing the song before Weezy takes over the rest of the track. The song also features guitars with the main beat that will surely get Weezy back on the map in today’s rap game.

This year, Run The Jewels have become official overachievers. The second full-length from El-P and Killer Mike, RTJ2,  comes out today via iTunes, but the duo put it up for free to download on Friday because why not? They got enough money to move forward with Meow the Jewels, their remix of the album using only cat noises. They announced a worldwide art project called Tag The Jewels, a call for 30 street artists to paint their interpretation of the logo on street walls. They’re unstoppable.

To celebrate the album release, they’re sharing the sequel to single …

Hoodie Allen Streams “All About It”

Just three days ago, rapper Hoodie Allen released his debut album, People Keep Talking. Truly a marketing whiz, Hoodie has expertly promoted his independent record and the results have been impressive to say the least. In fact, he’s released either a fancy music video or a high-quality audio stream for the majority of the tracks off of People Keep Talking.

Hoodie’s latest release, “All About It,” is one of my personal favorites off of his exceptional new album. The song initially features Ed Sheeran rapping, and Hoodie singing the hook- an interesting twist and totally worth a listen. …

Run The Jewels Are Remaking ‘RTJ2′ Using Nothing But Cat Noises

The internet can do magical things. When Run The Jewels‘ El-P said he would remake the rap duo’s newest album using only cat sounds if someone bought a deluxe edition (costing $40,000), he never thought the goal would be met. Low and behold, it was.

The RTJ2 remake, titled Meow The Jewels, brought in all $40,000 thanks to a fan-created Kickstarter. When El-P found out it existed, he pledged all the money earned would be given to charity should it reach its goal. He roped in top tier talent to help produce: Portishead’s Geoff Barrow, Just Blaze, Zola Jesus, …

After half a decade of free tracks, mixtapes, and a slew of critically acclaimed EPs, Hoodie Allen is finally sharing his long-awaited debut album with the world. To say the results were worth the wait would be a massive understatement.

Run The Jewels And Zack De La Rocha Command You “Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck)”

Run The Jewels continue to leave us awestruck, an unstoppable force yet to make a misstep. Rage Against The Machine’s Zack de la Rocha hopped onto the runaway train for “Close Your Eyes (And Count To Fuck)” and he didn’t slow down the machine a bit.

His voice, chopped and looped, serves as the track’s backbone throughout, even before his vintage, pissed off and politically-charged RATM verse winds the buzzsaw to a final stop (“the only thing they close quicker than the caskets be the factory”). They managed to seamlessly weave de la Rocha through the whole thing, and it …

Bong, James Bong: Wiz Khalifa Drops New Video

Bruce Lee. Pierce Brosnan. Tiger Woods. Wiz Khalifa has done it again. Fresh off some drama with Amber Rose that seems too gossipy to even get into, Young Khalifa has switched up his style with some hair that might be more purple than his weed, although we don’t see that in this video. The track, “James Bong,” is off his his mixtape 28 Grams which dropped back in May.

The video opens simply enough with a James Bond inspired introduction that soon turns into some grainy footage of the Pittsburgh native doing what he does best (besides rapping), getting stoned. …

Dirty Up Takes Us To An Audible “Oasis”

UTG favorite Dirty Up has focused on showing off his killer production chops for most of 2014, but the Bay Area born artist has returned to the mic for a brand new single (with the backing of a premiere from Mishka). Entitled “Oasis,” the song finds him combining his lush, ethereal instrumentals with an elated flow that changes pace from the Thrillwave days while still maintaining quality in sound and content.

Follow the jump to give “Oasis” a listen and be sure to give Dirty Up a follow on Twitter to keep up with his daily musings, and of …
