Tame Impala's, Nick Allbrook (no longer in band)

Tame Impala Bassist Leaves Band

Pitchfork reports, Tame Impala bassist, Nick Allbrook, played his last show on Saturday night at the Belvoir Amphitheatre in Australia. The news comes as some surprise, especially since the band’s current album, Lonerism, was listed at the top of many fan’s and critic’s lists for album of the year in 2012.

In an official statement through Tame Impala’s website, Nick Allbrook “is hopping off the Tame Impala band wagon so that he can try and screw his head back on, and make an attempt to assimilate back into society. A task the rest of us fear we will one …

Attack! Attack! (UK) Announce Break Up Plans

When I woke to a text alert telling me Attack Attack had broken up, I legitimately lept from bed in my Boston home and scrambled to my laptop. Ohio’s Attack Attack! have been one of our most covered bands, and to hear that they quietly announced their break up in the dead of the night seemed strange. Then I logged on to realize the company behind the aforementioned text alert didn’t understand how important the exclamation point is in the band’s name and that, my friends, is how I learned the UK based Attack! Attack! were going to be parting …

Ryan Gosling Planning To “Take A Break” From Acting

After appearing in (roughly) every third film released over the last year, The Place Beyond The Pines star Ryan Gosling has expressed a desire to take a break from acting in the near future.

In a recent interview with the Associated Press, Gosling explained that he feels the time has come to take a step back, stating “I’ve been doing it too much. I’ve lost perspective on what I’m doing. I think it’s good for me to take a break and reassess why I’m doing it and how I’m doing it. And I think this is probably a good way …

Attack Attack! Lose Frontman Caleb Shomo; New Vocalist Already Recruited

Ohio-based act Attack Attack! have been relatively quiet this Fall. From what we recall, the group had a short run of shows near Halloween, but that has pretty much been it. This morning, our friends at PropertyOfZack may have solved the reason behind the band’s silence, and it’s a story that feels awfully familiar for this heavy band.

According to their sources, POZ can confirm that Caleb Shomo is no longer the vocalist for Attack Attack! The band has replaced Shomo already, but no names or announcements have been made. If we had to guess, the fact this news has …

Rumors about Brooklyn alternative hip-hop group Das Racist calling it quits have been swirling around the internet and now Under The Gun Review can confirm that they are no more. DR were supposed to play the On3 Festival in Munich, Germany this weekend and ended up being Heems performing a solo set. He sent out the following message to fans.

“You guys wanna know the secret? Alright, so I’m going to do some Das Racist songs, but Das Racist is breaking up and we’re not a band anymore.”

In response to the onstage antics, Kool A.D. tweeted:

Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean Is Quitting Something.

Frank Ocean has had a pretty good year so far: appearing on Saturday Night Live with John Mayer, coming out with his love for a man, and getting rave reviews on his album Channel Orange. In a strange move that only Frank and those close to him could explain, Frank is quitting. What is he quitting? He didn’t say.

On his Tumblr, Frank posted “yea, I quit.” Ominous? Sure. Foreboding? Definitely. Specific? Absolutely not. I’m sure everyone wants to speculate that it’s about music, but you would think there would be a flurry of tweets or …

Bon Iver

Contrary To Blogular Belief, Bon Iver Is Not Going On Hiatus

Rumors began to spread earlier today that folk favorite Bon Iver would be stopping, or at least going on Hiatus, and we’re here to let you know that is simply not the case.

For those unfamiliar with the story, fans and bloggers began their outcry when a new interview with Iver mastermind Justin Vernon on Minnesota Public Radio surfaced. During the interview, Vernon was asked what Bon Iver was “up to,” and Vernon responded:

Winding it down. I look at it like a faucet. I have to turn it off and walk away from it because so much of

Crucial Dudes Are Officially Done

In a totally unlikely turn of events, it has been released that South Jersey punks Crucial Dudes are officially done as a band. Read their entire statement about their tour cancelation below and comment with you thoughts.

Friends,

As much as this pains us to say, we have to cancel our entire U.S. tour for the month of July. A member of the band informed us today (6 days before the tour begins) that he wouldn’t be able to do it with us. We didn’t want to go out without them and feel as if we were playing half assed …

STREAM + DOWNLOAD: The King Blues – “Modern Life has Let Me Down”

UK Ska-Punks The King Blues released a new song “Modern Life has Let Me Down” that is coming off of their forthcoming final record Long Live the Struggle. The band announced recently that after this summer release they will be calling it quits as a band, which frankly is quite the tragedy. This band’s blend of ska, punk, and political lyricism is absolutely fantastic, and they’re going to truley be missed. However, you can still get excited for this last release, by checking out the bandcamp stream after the break. And as an added bonus, you can download “Modern …

IT’S OFFICIAL: Gary Ross Will Not Direct “Catching Fire”

The man who brought The Hunger Games to life has announced he will not be tackling the film’s sequel, Catching Fire.

Whether or not you enjoyed the recent adaptation of The Hunger Games, there is no denying the financial success of the film. As a result of that popularity, the studio is trying to keep a tight production schedule running on the sequel, Catching Fire, in hopes of hitting an even bigger jackpot in 2013, but that may now be in turmoil because director Gary Ross has confirmed he is leaving the project.

In a statement made …

Following rumors of Craig Owens’ potential return, Chiodos have officially announced the departure of Brandon Bolmer and Tanner Wayne.

News of Bolmer and Wayne’s departure broke earlier today on Chiodos’ official Facebook (which had previously been dormant for months). A statement from Bolmer reads:

Over the past 5 months or so, I have received a lot of messages asking me what CHIODOS is up to. I’ve wanted to speak out for some time now, but it’s taken me a while to find the best way to do so. Out of respect to the fans, and those interested, I feel
