The Story So Far 2012

The Story So Far Stream New Single, “Solo”

Over the weekend, The Story So Far stopped by BBC Radio 1 to debut another new track off their upcoming self-titled album, due out May 19 via Pure Noise Records.

Titled “Solo,” the outfit’s latest offering harkens back to their earlier undertakings without sacrificing the abrasive riffage found on 2013’s What You Don’t See. While it doesn’t go down quite as easy as the previously released “Nerve,” it’s still a jam-and-a-half, boasting some of Parker Cannon’s most acidic lyrics to date. Stream it below, and let us know if you’re a fan in the replies.

Front Porch Step Finally Releases Statement Regarding Sexual Misconduct Allegations

After three months of hiding out away from the internet and public eye, Jake McElfresh, better known by his stage name Front Porch Step, has released a statement via Facebook regarding December’s allegations of sexual misconduct with minors. You can read the entire post below.

Late last year, allegations regarding McElfresh’s conduct with underage girls on the internet surfaced via a Change.org petition seeking to remove Front Porch Step from the 2015 Vans Warped Tour. McElfresh has since cancelled all of his touring plans for the year. McElfresh’s social media accounts have fallen quiet in the wake of the …

REVIEW: Speak Low If You Speak Love – ‘Everything But What You Need’

Artist: Speak Low If You Speak Love
Album: Everything But What You Need
Genre: Acoustic indie rock
Label: Pure Noise Records

In the punk world, acoustic side projects often carry an unjustified stigma. While many of the records in the “sensitive pop-punk dude with acoustic guitar” genre tend to fall flat due to uninspired songwriting and lackluster production value, Speak Low If You Speak Love stands out brightly. The brainchild and passion project of State Champs guitarist Ryan Scott Graham, Speak Low self-released a record called Everything But What You Need in December of 2013. We loved it here at …

Hit The Lights 2012

Listen To Hit The Lights’ New Single, “No Filter”

After a rocky couple of years due to record label-related conflicts, Ohio pop-punk outfit Hit The Lights are slowly coming back into the swing of things. The band announced earlier last year that they have joined the Pure Noise Records family and that they will be releasing a new full-length record fairly soon. That time has come and the beloved five-piece is finally scheduled to release the new record, entitled Summer Bones, on March 24.

Today the band is excited to bring us “No Filter,” a killer, in-your-face, lyrical-diss-track for what appears to be a former lover. The new …

State Champs Release New Music Video For “If I’m Lucky”

Arguably one of the best (if not the best) songs off of State Champs‘ latest The Acoustic Things EP is a song entitled “If I’m Lucky.” Today the Albany, NY pop-punk five-piece has released the music video for this song and it most definitely suits the cutesy, acoustic vibe going around.

The music video features a nice little monologue at the beginning and goes on to showcase road trip footage of a young couple. You can check it out below and let us know what you think.

Additionally, the band will be heading out on tour this spring as …

Senses Fail Release Far Heavier Rendition Of Man Overboard’s “Real Talk”

Ever since Rancid and NOFX released their split back in 2002, one of my favorite trends in the punk world has been split 7″ records where both bands cover each other for at least one track. Other examples include Touché Amoré and Title Fight’s 2013 split, Rise Against’s split with Face To Face from 2011, Boysetsfire and Funeral For a Friend’s from last year, and the upcoming split EP from Senses Fail and Man Overboard.

Today, Senses Fail have released their rendition of Man Overboard’s “Real Talk,” the opening track from their 2010 album of the same name. Buddy …

After announcing a 7″ split EP with Senses Fail – who released a song of their own called “All You Need Is Within You Already” – Man Overboard have also debuted their original contribution to the release. The split is slated for release on March 3 via Pure Noise Records.

The track, titled “One Fixed Point,” is Man Overboard’s latest material since the release of their Passing Ends EP back in October. The band has stated that a new album will be out this year and that they’ll be touring extensively throughout 2015, specifically with Bayside on their …
