REVIEW: Gnarwolves – ‘Gnarwolves’

Artist: Gnarwolves
Album: Gnarwolves
Label: Pure Noise Records

Let’s be honest, it’s pretty hard for a pop punk band to climb out of the grave that the “Defend Pop Punk” movement has become. A name like Gnarwolves backed up by images of pizza slices and skateboards can either serve as a calling card to invite new listeners into something they already know they’re going to love, or as a warning sign for the bored and weary to stay as far away as possible.

Yet Gnarwolves are more than just another skin-deep act — or at least that’s what one would …

REVIEW: The American Scene – ‘Haze’

Artist: The American Scene
Album: Haze
Label: Pure Noise Records
Genre: Alternative, Indie

The American Scene found themselves far too underrated after the release of Safe For Now, an album that created intricate guitar lines, hauntingly soft and delivering vocals, and a longing desire for more. Two years later we find ourselves presented with Haze, an album that reinvents the musicianship found on Safe For Now for the better, illuminated by cautious production and only the most fitting tones.

Introduced by the title track, it can be immediately heard that The American Scene has delved further into their …

Front Porch Step Releases Music Video For Emotional Song, “Private Fears In Public Places”

Our friends at Substream Music Press exclusively released the latest music video from Front Porch Step today. The track, titled “Private Fears In Public Places,” is another overtly emotional and transparent number from the acoustic punk solo artist’s Pure Noise Records debut, Aware, which was released late last year.

The video gives viewers an inside look of FPS mastermind Jake Mcelfresh’s experience on this year’s Vans Warped Tour, where his music spread amongst the scene like wildfire. He told Substream this about the new video:

“This video is very special to me for multiple reasons. Not only is …
