On August 18, five people were killed when a stage collapsed at the Pukkelpop Festival in Belgium. In order to help the victim of the tragedy, the festival has set up an “independent and autonomous charity.” All donations to the fund will go directly to those affected by the collapse.

Pukkelpop Festival canceled, offers statement
August 19th, 2011 Grant Trimboli After we brought you the terrifying news from the Pukkelpop Festival, in Hasselt, Belgium, the festival have responded with deep sympathy and sorrow.
Six concert-goers were killed, after the entire stage collapsed, when a giant storm came sweeping through the grounds. We at UTG are very sorry to everyone effected by this terrible occurrance.

6 Killed at Pukkelpop Festival after stage collapses
August 18th, 2011 Grant Trimboli It has been confirmed, from sources around the Pukkelpop Festival in Hasselt, Belgium, that 6 people have been killed due to the stage collapsing. The indie-rock band Smith Westerns were just about to go on when the stage was severally damaged from the storm that swept through.
Bands that were still set to play were Rise Against, Rival Schools, Skrillex, Good Charlotte, Bring Me The Horizon and more.
