Required Listening: Chiodos – “Why The Munsters Matter”

Along with the band’s exciting tour announcement, a second song off Chiodos‘ highly-anticipated new album has found its way online ahead of the record’s April 1 street date and it’s streaming over at AbsolutePunk along with its accompanying video.

“Why The Munsters Matter” has already become one of our favorite singles of 2014. The track finds the Craig Owens-fronted version of Chiodos channeling their Bone Palace Ballet sound into a song that questions the meaning of existence. It begins simply enough with hints of ballad-like influence, but as the song builds you realize there is much more …

Required Listening: Lady Gaga Featuring R. Kelly – “Do What U Want”

I know “Applause” did not impress many longtime followers of Mother Monster, and the whole wandering the woods naked thing was a bit odd, but stop whatever you’re doing right now and give Lady Gaga one more chance to sell you on her forthcoming album ARTPOP.

“Do What U Want” is the latest track to surface off Gaga’s long-awaited third studio album, and it is without a doubt the best we’ve heard off the record so far. The track boasts a smooth, 80s-influenced beat that brings to mind the best moments of the Drive soundtrack, only this …

What happens when you cross Odd Future‘s stoner deity Domo Genesis with fellow OFWGKTA members MellowHype (Left Brain and Hodgy Beats)? The answer is MellowHigh, the latest rap outfit aiming to conquer iTunes charts in the weeks ahead.

Given the number of collaborations Domo shared with Mellowhype, the birth of Mellowhigh was a long time in the making, but that does not make the resulting effort any less exciting. “Extinguisher,” the latest song to surface off the group’s upcoming mixtape, offers an off-the-cuff sound that harkens back to the early days of the Odd Future collective. All three …

Michigan’s I See Stars have been confusing fans a bit as of late. Their long-awaited new album, New Demons, was originally scheduled for an early August 2013 release. Cut to Mid-August. Taking to their official instagram, I See Stars posted the cover art for New Demons along with a message that informed fans the album had now been scheduled …
